the "just plain ugly" car thread

Looks like Christine was melted down, but it escaped midway through the process.

I see these everywhere!! :scared:

I think all Rolls Royce cars are ugly.
I think you post things just to read your thoughts out loud.

Keep 'em to yourself.
If you're talking about all Rolls-Royces ever made, you can't say this is ugly.
I can, but cars from that era don't generally tickle my fancy anyway. The craftsmenship & design definitely speaks volumes about what Rolls Royce is, I would just never buy the car from the design alone.

that should be the Bat mobile, or a Studibaker,

I also have to disagree with Fred on the 599 ferrari (page 2), That has to be the best looking pointless Ferrari ever made, I don't particularly like the brand, now its less exclusive and doesn't have the fire and passion owning a Ferrari once had, It is still an awesome piece of kit,

Been through 9 pages of this thread so far, how come no one has posted a GTR?

Depends which GT-R you mean. Only the R35 has been ugly in my view. R31-R34 are good looking.

The R32 especially.

Don't know if it's a repost, but these aren't exactly pretty:

They weren't exactly pretty, but I think they've aged decently well. In a way, I think it captured the enthusiasm and style of the late 90s, early 00s.

And actually, the 7 series ended up being quite influential. Remember how everyone criticized Bangle and BMW for the hump on the trunk? Well well, look what we have here:

The LS's hump is much smaller and much more subtle, but a lot of high end luxury sedans ended up adopting that double deck profile.

Never mind that the E63 7 series actually outsold any previous generation of 7 series, and that the current S Class manages to make the E63 7 series look conservative.

I hope this isn't just me, but the Nexia II looks incredibly dated for a 2008 model.

I know it'll be based on something mega-old already, but that's no excuse.

The sedan looks even more dated than the original Nexia hatch it's based on, and only slightly more modern looking than the Mk2 Astra/Kadett E that was based on.

But for something that was re-designed in Coventry and produced in Uzbekistan, I'm not sure they could have done much to make it look any better or up-to-date unless they decided to use the Lanos as a base instead. Although that's even smaller and almost as poor as the Nexia really.

Eww, there are a lot of them in the whole post-Soviet space... They are made in Uzbekistan. I've driven it, it was terrible to drive even more than it looks.

The car it's based on came out in 1984 and it looks like the body is basically the same.

When I lived in Newmarket I was on an automotive ally of sorts, the entire road was car dealerships and nothing else.

Every day I would go past the VW dealership and saw this.. thing.. I thought it was some kind of one off cross breed concept between the golf and the beetle.

I wish I were right.
