the "just plain ugly" car thread

Ditto. Both great cars.
In fact the Eagle has been my laptop wallpaper for ages. It looks amazing but was only intended to be the modern equivalent of the classic E-Type.

Yup, I love it when companies take a classic car and put modern things into them.

I prefer the '69-70 mustang Mach 1's but I don't think the others were too bad.

The face on the new Caterham AeroSeven concept is just :yuck:

Looks like it's really disappointed. It's like -o-

^You might need to fix one of your links, the Eagle Speedster one. I also disagree with your opinion on both of those.
What don't you like about my opinions? I didn't post the Eagle Speedster on purpose. It's not ugly but personally I don't think it's as good looking as an original E Type. Also, that may be the Mustang from Diamonds Are Forever but it's ugly.

We haven't critisised your opinion, only stated ours.

You are tripping

After having viewed the entire range (not just those sold here), I suppose I should rephrase. I love the bubbly contours of Infiniti cars, but all of the QX series sport a corporate grille that is horribly awkward (quite similar to Lexus', each front-end looks squished).

Basically what Jay said, I was just stating my opinion on the speedster. I was just saying that I don't find those cars ugly.

This little Daewoo Matiz is quite ugly though and very boring.

Renamed as the Chevrolet Matiz and sold in Europe and UK.

Didn't do GM any favours. Should've made a right-hand drive Camaro instead.

I'm personally fine with the looks of both of those cars. I'm also actually a fan of the 1999-2002 Cougar, I've had a liking towards it since when I was little. I mean, it could have been given another name, but I still didn't think it was that bad.

This Eclipse though could've looked better:

Amen to that. I like that design better but it's too soft for my tastes.

This Cougar though, I just don't like the look of it. I've never been a fan of those edges on the front on this and the lincoln town car during that time. I also have a slight dislike towards the grille.

Those big '70 cougars are horrid. Ugly gutless and heavy. A friend in HS had a 78 it was sooooo slow. The only folks around here that like them are lowrider guys.

I liked the '99 Cougars they were neat little cars. I wish they would have done more with time IE 3.0 Duratec or at least a setup with the SVT Contour engine.

Those last gens Eclipses make me lol because the the little part of the glass front of the door glass that doesn't roll down. Its like mitsu said "F it this door glass is to hard!"

Hate me for saying this but I like the 70s cougars.

I'm with you on the '99 Cougars. It could've been an awesome sports car if Ford decided to make a high performance model with AWD, a twinturbo V6, and add some decent suspension & brakes.

Even without AWD and TT they could have been good. SVT Contour heads and intake on a run of the mill 3.0 Taurus shortblock with a good 5speed and stiffer springs and shocks and it would have been a fun pocket rocket.

Likely to be more of a personal opinion, but I've always found the Cadillac XTS to be ungainly in it's shape. The rear end just doesn't look right...at all.

^ WOW which Caddy is that one? The replacement of the DHS? I hate the alphabet soup names they have now always hard to keep track of what car is what.
