The Kujira Crown (Might not sell it!)

I'd go with a vintage looking color, really. Very metallic light blue or medium blue, lightly saturated dark red metallic or purple metalic, or metallic gold. Metallic brownish red would also work. All the colors suggested so far are too intense for a 4 door Toyota Crown with the exception of the metallic blue Dooglers suggested.

Seems like I did get distracted. Keeping it subtle but unique was my original idea. Then thought the midnight purple would look interesting. Should have thought of my original idea of originality. :dunce: How would midnight blue sound from the "Devil Z?"

I also thought about this, he said he wanted something more noticeable and modern so I suggested those colors, but light blue or real would go well with the car especially if the exterior is mostly untouched. SSII just popped into my head but it's a bit too modern looking for the car too. I'd personally still paint it Jerez black, can't go wrong with black and has that bit of purple so it's not boring.

Too sporty I'd say, too in your face for your car. I'd go with a more subdued blue or a much darker, non-metallic one at that. Remember your car iss a freaking 4 door sedan with white line tires (hopegully). And besides, going with a subdued image will greatly helps its sleeper image. I'd almos suggest tan or beige. But no.

I just remembered an awesome color that would look really nice on a classic car like yours, it is on a car owned by Steve McQueen, and I would not question his tastes

Yeah, that would look pretty awesome. I still think that dark purple would look really good, but a dark metallic red, blue, green, purple, or brown would all look pretty cool.

I'm feeling the colors of this car. It would look good on the Crown, and what Cano said about mixing a nice shade of red into the color.

Heck, any dark metallic color would look good on the Crown!

Would brown go well with the red interior? Something about brown though I'm not too sure about. I like it, but I'm sure it won't be such a catcher. That color looks great though, but not too sure how it'd match with the body...? (Style :dunce:)

Anyways, still trying to get time to work on rust repairs. Forgot to mention, when we tried out the electronics, we were able to pop the trunk open and found several tools, engine components (some still usable! Like a transmission radiator that's still usable! For the 2JZ), random rags, and a couple beer cans.

Also, turns out my car was featured in a small import car meet-up that my friend went to. A new club is being created in Maine for imports and they had a meet-up and cruise that I wasn't able to go to. :( But they were making a video of it and my car was in it. :D

Edit: Forgot to mention, seems like the owner really did lose the keys. :indiff:

Congrats on having the Crown in the movie dude. :D

Well, since the tranny still works, are you really gonna use it for the 2JZ or a MK4 Supra's auto transmission? Just wondering.

The transmission isn't in the car at all. All we were able to scavenge from the barn was the transmission tunnel which will be scrapped to recuperate some money. Besides, a 3-speed wouldn't do too well on the highway...

Oh okay. Thanks for clearing it up for me. Yeah a 3 speed tranny won't be good for the car with a 2JZ. So how's the progress with the 2JZ engine that your friends found at $1600? Any news on it yet?

Man I have to say I envy you. I've been looking for a project on and off for about a year. Something like yours without an motor. Except American. Drop in a LS7, modify what's necessary and then take it on the Hot Rod Power Tour. Well I subbed this thread and the best of luck to you while I search for my own. Also, you decide on a color/ wheel combination? I'm thinking a light blue/grey would look wonderful with the red interior as they always do.

Well, I do hope you find your project car. I'm sure with it being American it'll be a lot easier to find original parts. 👍

I was actually thinking, why not find what the original color was and paint it that color?

I wouldn't mind going for the original red, but I'm just not sure I'd enjoy it as much.

Good luck on finding your project car also Mail! 👍

I'm still trying to decide between a AE86, Mk3 Supra, S13 Coupe/Fastback, 300ZX Z32 and a few other to work on myself and my funding on the project myself. That's why I subscribed to Medigo's project, to view his project, help and give out ideas and to get inspiriation to assist mines also.

Hey Medigo, do any of your friends have Photoshop or photoshop skills? Just like Cano did with the wheels on that blue Crown pic in the thread, you can get a idea on the colors and wheel combos to help you out. 💡

Buy an MR2. :dopey:
You should also consider a Miata though. That would be fun.

Yeah a MR2 SW20 GT-S would be a good one as well. Since they're cheap and a Toyota with a great engine, the 3SGTE. And I was thinking between a 400-500hp SW20 with a bodykit combo with the TRD2000 and Tom's TS20 as a daily driver/track warrior or a drift spec SW20 pushing around 350-400hp.

I'm not sold on a Miata though. I like them regardless, but I'm mostly looking at the rest and the MR2 or even a Integra Type-R, but not a Miata....yet.

I would post up the video that features the Crown, however... It's a private video and it's a WIP at the moment. But once it's done, I'm sure it'll up and public on YouTube.

As of now, I will be getting my brother's beige 1999 Honda Accord pretty soon. However...it didn't pass inspection. Just my luck...another car that doesn't pass inspection, this time, before I even get ownership of it. :ouch:

Hate to do a double post, but I suppose it was all wrong. Was able to find the link for the video and yes it isn't a private video. So, here you go!

It appears at 1:17 if you guys are only want to see that, but it's worth a look at the other cars.

An update on my daily...its changed. From the 2003 Toyota Camry to my brother's 1999 Honda Accord. My parents still don't trust it after it was repaired (ignition issue causing it to shut off randomly turned out to be a recall for that generation) and decided to give my brother the newer and reliable Camry. One thing my brother did to it I don't care much for is the lights in the foot wells... Ricey? :indiff:

My father did bring to mind an idea he had. I could possibly switch the Honda with my uncle's 1998 Nissan Pathfinder. I got to borrow it for three days and for some reason, I started to grow a liking towards it. I'm not big on SUVs, but something about it was more likeable than the Honda.

Anyways, here's pictures of my new daily. And I suppose this is the one I will be sticking with.

Sorry about the triple post. :ouch:

I'm thinking a Phat wing, and some sick spinnaz, preferably Pink or Bright Green, about a 3" drop, and probably a bodykit from the wrong year, that doesnt match the paint. Probably a stupid muffler too.
Round it off with a sick stereo and blast some E40 up in there, yo.

My VTEC has yet to kick in. I'll leave my brother's mod alone... But other than that the Accord will stay as it is. Definitely not worth messing around with... Though...now I have the Accord I can "proudly" say that I own two cars that have a sunroof. :sly:

Though, I still feel tempted to trade it with my uncle and get the 1998 Nissan Pathfinder. A lot of tasteful and interesting ideas I have with that.

I hated SUV's, even up to the point when I got stuck with a Geo Tracker.
The other day my parents asked if I wanted to trade it for a Pontiac Grand Am.

"Uh, nooo. I can't go offloading with that!"
Dad: "But you can take it to the track"
"Hopefully you were joking..."

Anywho, I didn't want it, but now I've grown more fond of it.

My uncle has a Pathfinder from that era, he loves it. They can go pretty hard, and appear to be reasonably reliable.

My mom has had a Pathfinder, as well as an Accord (a '97 model).
It was the first nice car she ever bought, a '98 model, brand new. She leased it, and loved it to bits, and was quite sad to turn it in at the end of the lease. I've ridden in one as well, and they seem like a pretty nice SUV, they ride well, and the interior is quite good. Compared to the Accord, which she actually got after getting rid of the Pathfinder, she thought it was alright, but she still missed the Pathfinder, and ended up going back to an SUV a couple years later.
I say, go for the Pathfinder. 👍

And don't forget the NOS!!

But seriously, I would take the Accord. My parents had two Accords when I was growing up. A '92 and a '94 EX. I don't remember the '92 one, but I do remember the '94 Accord EX. That car was amazing, the only problems were the radiator change, battery replacement and oil changes that's the only things my parents had to deal with the car. Until my dad gave my older brother the Accord (He also had a Maxima.)

We had two Cadallics, and both cars were great, but both cars' engines died after three years. The Accords are good and reliable cars and have a good engine to modify (a H22, which is also found in a Prelude.)

I don't know about the Pathfinder, so I can't say anything about it. But it's up to you Medigo.
