The Le Mans General Discussion Thread

6 Hours of Bahrain getting moved up a couple of weekends as well.

Looks like the ALMS race doesn't start until 4:30, even thought it's shown as 3:45 on the schedule on their site.. :grumpy:

3:45 local time, (i.e. 3:30 air time in Austin). Therefore, the air time for us East coast people is 4:30.

Well, first time I didn't see anyone talk about the ALMS race. Not even sure its worth mentioning the winners.

I've missed so much ALMS recently that I wouldn't even know where to start.

I only caught about 20 minutes of todays race at the beginning of the final hour and it felt so reviving. Nothing of note happened but since I haven't been able to keep up with many forms of motorsport that I used to spend to much time learning about and experiencing, it certainly felt good to see those cars out on track again.

Who is the American announcer on the FIA WEC live stream? Sounds like the guy from Grand Am Unleashed, and he has no ideas what he's talking about. "G-Force" racing? That'd be G-Drive. To add this lack of knowledge, I've never heard an announcer say "uh" so many times in one sentence.

SC not even in to the 2nd lap...ugh!

Also, anyone else feel that ALMS and WEC feel a bit too similar. The cars are different, as well as the rules/regulations, and so on, but because both series run legnthy timed events with multiple classes, I get the feeling I'm watching the same race in a way.

Jim Roller, he's actually part of Radio Le Mans, he must be having an off day or something. He keeps calling Freddy Makowieki "Frank" Makowieki.

Duval has just gone, 7 seconds clear, Fassler stuck behind Buemi.

No.1 and no.8 under investigation for contact.

Why John and Jeremy don't commentate together more often is strange, they play off each other so well. Except when Hindy gets over excited that is :P

no.1 car having a nightmare, stuck behind the Toyota, flying on the kerb, then getting a tap from the Porsche and vibrations, all plays into the hands of Toyota and Audi no.2

Why take so many risks in a class where really only 2 cars, 3 if Toyota has a good day have a shot at the win? Especially this early on? I don't understand it.

Because they are Racing Drivers. You know, treat them like 6 year olds and you'll be okay. :sly:

6 hours of Blancpain this morning and now 6 hours of WEC. I'm having fun. :)

Dear lord, I just tuned back in and Jim's back. That's a Toyota Jim, not a Peugeot.

EDIT: Oak caught some good air.

Because they are both Sportscar races?

Yeah, he's having an off day (probably being baked in all this Texas Weather )
