The Le Mans General Discussion Thread

No Toyota and Porsche are running low downforce Audi are running a high downforce setting Radio Le Mans have already confirmed this.

Pascal Vasselon said yesterday: "We are running reasonably high downforce, especially as tomorrow there is a reasonably high risk for rain so we don’t want to go to low downforce."

I heard on Radio Le Mans that Porsche are running low downforce because they don't have a high downforce set.

Nothing about Toyota doing anything like that at all. Toyota are all about high downforce. It is where their speed comes from. They only take it off for Le Mans.

Also heard it.

You'd think they would've learned from last year in regards to safety cars, and when to not put them out? Wet conditions just make it more interesting. So pull that damn safety car out! :irked:

They should call this. When the pack don't close up to the leaders under a safety car because they don't want to go any faster, it's time to stop.

Red Flag. It is the right thing to do.

Ohh C'mon! I understand calling off a race when you have conditions like Fuji last season. But this is ridicules...

What part of the rest of the drivers are not going fast enough to close up on the leaders under a safety car don't you get?

And they do stop. Congratulations to Toyota for a 1-2 finish and Porsche for a podium in their first race back.

I only saw 4 LMP2s in the race, that must be a record low for P2 entries.

Well, crappy end, but great to see Toyota off to a good start. I declare this the year of the petrol engine!
Crush those diesels. Crush them good! :)

Spa in two weeks. Audi and Toyota will probably run one car in high downforce Spa setup and one in low downforce Le Mans setup.

Only 2 weeks? Damn, I thought there was one month between the two races.
Going to be a rather tight schedule for Audi I suppose. How quick can whoever is responsible for building the monocoques, build them?

I obviously can't confirm this, but I'm sure they have at least one spare tub back at the factory waiting for assembly. I seem to recall a video from RBR saying it takes about a week to make an F1 tub (I'l try and find it again), so probably about the same for Audi. It'll be tight, but I'm sure they can have two cars ready for Spa.

I wonder if I could get them to send one of the damaged monocoques to me :D
