The Le Mans General Discussion Thread

Sure didn't seem to stop Herbert in 1991, even Bourdais managed to do so while driving for Toro Rosso in 2009.
Because they were allowed to but most drivers have a clause which doesn't allow them to do other Motorsport events in case they get injured.

On Audi this weekend:

Radio Le mans said a couple of weeks ago that sources within the team had confirmed Alonso at McLaren. Just because it isn't being announced yet doesn't mean it isn't signed. A driver of Alonso's stature could get all sorts of options added for what he can do outside the team.

Is he driving a McLaren in the Dubai 24h?

Pre race for Sau Paulo has started. Love the heat in LMP2 between the russian guys - not talked in a decade and actually hate each other. That'll be fun

It's still not 100%, but I'm planning on going with a couple friends, going to England and working our way down. Definitely want to get together with the regular GTPers at some point too!

A big group of GTP'ers and I have gone to Le Mans the last three years, so there's a good chance you'll bump into us at some point this year!

Rought start, KCMG whacked an Audi, whilst Aston are dominating early doors in GTE. Some old brazilian blokes car is in there as well.

I'm loving these battles in lmp1

If the #2 Audi could get as close as they were before they pited to the leading #20 Porsche towords the end of the race. do you think there in for a chance to win this?
