The Le Mans General Discussion Thread

I get AMR One vibes from this car... I really hope its a succes because its refreshing to see a major manufacturer commiting themselves to such bold design ideas.

They're way ahead of the AMR-One, it's January and they've already done two tests.

By the time they'd got to Le Mans Aston had done shakedown and a very small test at Le Mans.

Think that any other manufactures will make a front/mid-front engined LMP1 car? I'm suddenly having visions of a Mercedes-AMG GT inspired car with their V8TT and a hybrid system.

If Jag returns to LMP1 I think they would.

I think we are now in one of those periods that will be looked on in twenty years as one of the greatest spans of Le Mans considering we will have 4 different large manufacturers all with completely different setups. Not to mention the always interesting LMP2 and GTE-Pro categories.

As for the Nissan itself, it's a bit ugly, but it will probably grow on me like all the other modern LMP cars have.

Same here. Its an oddball to me but only because its design isn't standard and hasn't been seen since 1998 so its about time for all of us to get reintroduced to it.

Right at the beginning of this year I said that this is the next Group C

The sides seem really flat compared to other LMP1s.

[sarcasm]I know. Its almost as if its not finished.[/sarcasm]

We now have a motor originally designed for F1, in a 'Le Mans' car.
And a motor originally designed for 'Le Mans' in a road car, built by a manufacturer who also builds F1 cars.
Quite Interesting.
