The Le Mans General Discussion Thread

I think it'll grow on me real quick this car although i wish it wasn't red though... just doesn't do it justice.

Actually theres already a car in GT6 thats somewhat similar, the Subaru VGT employs a near identical layout.

Nissan says they mainly choose FWD as it Allows them a significantly more efficient ERS Power Delivery.

Aka less Powertrain loss, besides it would only be Fully FWD at high speed right?

Really efficient under breaking to since it'll have both engine breaking and ERS regeneration to haul it down.

Little off-subject but are there any rumors about Doran planning to go back to the DP ranks? The one in the photo might have just been a commercial prop but the Tudor number plate just gives off that vibe.

I could be looking at this too seriously to be honest.

Their 2004 Kodak DP that won the grand am championship was in there. Their Conti 370Z also was there. I bet Kevin Doran and company get to be the team that's contracted to run the program. Heck, Nissan may have a DP engine too

in short the add is,

  • win GT academy,
  • race a road car,
  • get maliciously attacked by a Z4,
  • get a P1 gig,
  • Go home,

I'm not a fan of the car. It's unusual, and as much as I appreciate original design philosophy, I just looks weird. Like someone prioritised form over function.

Actually it looks the way it does because someone prioritized function over form.
I'm left with the impression that someone, somewhere said "make a car that looks distinct in silhouette, then make a car that goes fast" rather than "make a car that goes fast, then make a car that looks good in silhouette".

Size? That was a once instance thing, meant in general and being given a notoriety of breaking down. Did its accident with the Toyota have anything to do with size? Felt it was more neglecting of your surroundings, but there were a lot of cars packed together and stuff anyways, something was bound to happen.

Given that this is the Super bowl they chose to show this, I don't think that ad was particularly done with us race fans in mind.
