The Le Mans General Discussion Thread

Where did I say in that post that he was a rubbish driver ?

Look I'm having second thoughts about the man. We will just have to wait till April the 13 to find out the truth!
Wait... Max Chilton did you say? That's rubish, why would Nissan go for Max bloody Chilton? Mr I always Finnish last in every gran Prix
Right there

Nissan to come last at Le mans

Because somehow, no good finishes in F1 automatically equal failure at Le Mans, right?

Funny how we all looked at Kaz Nakajima with the same sort of doubt and look how that turned out.

You didn't name any specific person and in the original quoted post nether did I.

Since Alex didn't race in F1, I'm pretty sure its safe to say you didn't imply him being the reason they will finish last at Le Mans in that article you posted.

But I didn't mention anything about F1 that's all you and I haven't implied anyone in the original quoted post.

If you wish to assume I am talking about chilton in relation to F1 then that's your assumption unless you can point out the post were ive made specific mention to it.

Could be a long wait though.....

Then tell me who were you reffering to then if its not Max Chilton. Tell me what the hell else is there to assume when you post this:

Which clearly isn't talking about Alex. I'll wait and see how you could've been talking anyone other then Max Chilton in a article that clearly reads "Formula 1 racer Joins Nissan's Le Mans Challenge".

Does Chilton bring money as well?

I'd be willing to bet he does. If the teams can get money from a driver, then it will make their end cheaper. Of course they're going to choose a driver with money over no money. There's plenty of other far more talented drivers out there right now.

Funny how we all looked at Kaz Nakajima with the same sort of doubt and look how that turned out.

You see, you'd have to pay attention to his career directly after F1 to really know where his success is coming from. After leaving F1 and going to Japan, he was able to gain confidence (From the easier driving levels) as well as he really grew up as a driver. He has figured out that he doesn't have the outright pace, so he's perfected a skill that he did have, which was consistency. Andre Lotterer was the same way. He went to Japan after being overlooked by F1 and became a more confident and competent driver.

Chilton holds neither quality (Speed and consistency) in my opinion. What he does bring, is a big family fortune.

Lucky wouldn't be the word, well off more like  sadly he's not entering the spa 24 this year which he has for the last 2/3 years.

Still if someone gave me the choice Le Mans or Spa I'd probably pick Le Mans too.
Oh yeah, good that he's doing that and loving it rather than buying a car to keep in a locked garage to get 10% profit in 18 years.

And that is a very nice decision to have to make
