The Le Mans General Discussion Thread

I don't think they sound worse in Spa under the roof of the grandstand ;)

That sounds like a good excuse for me to go to spa to test your theory ;)

In other news...

TICKETS ARE HERE!

Having just written off my car on the way back from the N24h, my trip to Le Mans is now less probable (as is the next couple of BTCC rounds). It's all booked, but no sign of any tickets yet.

I'll be surprised if they arent with you within the next few days to a week. More importantly I hope you're ok man 👍

Colorado is the next state over from me, so we dont have that problem ;)

On topic, it seems Toyota may run Nakajima AND Kobayashi during the test day, just in case!

Both their fastest drivers in one session? Its so bold, it might be Super-Effective.

I'm doubting of maybe buying the FIA WEC livestream package for Le Mans only (it's a tenner).
But seeing there will be regular streams around, you guys think it's worth purchasing? Do you have added features like the ability to watch onboards at night when the regular TV coverage stops?

Does the coverage still stop over night nowadays? I seem to remember the TV feed being up until I fell asleep last year but that was late at night and a year ago so I might've been imagining things combined with the RLM audio.

btw Nissan are planning to stream the whole of Le Mans live but I'm not sure what that stream will feature (it might just be onboards until they retire).

Yeah if i remember right after midnight you only had fixed camera standpoints for a while at the pits and then the coverage stopped till morning.

That's why i think the WEC Le Mans package might be a good deal, if you can switch to onboard cameras during the night when the trackside coverage stops because it's too dark and the commentators need to do a nap.

Both Nissan and Corvette had live streams throughout the entire race last year if I remember correctly. Probably be the same this year.

Eurosport player is £5.99 for one month and there is a dedicated stream for Le Mans for full 24 hours coverage with no add breaks. No commentary either so It's Radio Le Mans for that.

They is no stoppage of coverage at night. It was reduced in terms of cameras in use in previous years but never to the N24 or Spa 24 levels. It was announced that this year it will be around the clock full camera coverage, I think I heard it on Radio Le Mans not so long ago.

Good to hear and thanks for the tip regarding Eurosport, i'll check that out.
Sent an email to FIA WEC asking for some more details about their coverage, if they reply (who knows), i'll let you guys know what is on offer from their side.

I am gonna try to watch Le Mans this year. I would rather watch that instead of NASCAR.
