The Le Mans General Discussion Thread

Fox News is NOT a legitimate source. Please find another. Seriously, I refuse to believe anything from Fox.

Even if its the same info also posted by Speedtv.com and similar websites?

It was posted on several other racing forums, and I haven't seen it here, so I posted, then googled and used the first link. That link happened to be fox.

I don't know why you're explaining it to him, he was defending your point.

Lol! Hey, now they'll be right there with Muscle Milk! Right on pace, on track and on pit stop count!!

Now this is gonna be a tight battle on the racetracks!

@Mac K: Nice video of the Porsche on Lime Rock. That was a tight pass with the GT and the Ferarri GT in the center, especially since Lime Rock is a tight and small track from watching the video.

Is it a F1-Style KERS, where they just punch it and get boost? Or do they have zones and preset powers like the Audi/Toyota?

The Audis have the preset zones because they use a flywheel. It's push button activation to get their boost in power. The Toyota's hybrid regenerates and uses the leftover energy automatically I believe.

Nope. The rules don't allow push to pass. It has to be Automatic. The Toyota can use the energy straight away because it is rear wheel drive.

The Audi has to wait until 120KPM until it can use the energy because it becomes 4WD when it uses it.

If this new Dyson system complies with FIA/ACO rule it would have to work the same way.

Dyson Press Release
Energy storage and release is automatically controlled by an onboard computerized hydraulic system that does not require any special driver inputs. Energy is stored every time the car brakes and released again every time the car accelerates back up to speed, boosting acceleration without burning any additional fuel.

It's explained in the release.

Your right about the Audi. It was late when I wrote that. Sorry.

Any links to some live streams for the ALMS race today beside the live feed on the ALMS site?

Edit: Come on guys again?

What happened there? It looked like the 16 Dyson was moving around too much instead of sticking around the outside, which didn't leave much room for the 20 and others behind.

Chris Dyson. "Nuff said.

The Esses are crazy! 👍

Dysons one advantage- Having a reliable car- Has now gone out the window.

If I'm honest, its only been slight and its been down to Muscle Milk having to CTRL-ALT Delete every time during the race (which hasn't done much to prevent them from winning except recently)

Edit: Scott Tucker just dodged some debris. Target missed
