Sign me up! I am a huge fan of MB. I used to be so closed minded about them thinking only rich people bought them to show off, but then I educated myself and realized how wonderful they really are. I will own an AMG someday. Probably two cars from now.

I may not know a whole lot about Mercedez Benz, but I do plan on trying to get into the Mercedez Benz ELITE program just so I can work on those beautiful cars.

I test drove an 06 C280 two days ago. It's in the upper range of my budget for this car and I am really looking for something with a good "fun to drive" factor so I highly doubt I end up purchasing it, but I really enjoyed the experience. It was a little too disconnected from the road for me. It's a wonderful car though and when I decide to settle down I will definately look in that direction to fill my family car needs. I do intend on owning an AMG roadster someday but it's not in the cards for another 5-10 years I don't think. It's ok I think it will be worth the weight.

Like the_gamezz I love all German cars...but I do love certain Mercs more than the other 2 major German auto makers.

My favorite supercar has a Merc motor--the Zonda, and it's quite lovely 7.3L AMG V12. And the AMG cars are super sexy as always. So count me in.

Since this is a Benz fan club maybe we should talk a little Benz.

I am curious as to what everyones thoughts are on this new gullwing rendering floating around the net? Do you think this is the what replaces the SLRs replacement, which I heard would be an SLR roadster. The gullwing concept really gets me excited because I think it is such a Benz icon that bringing a new version out as a super car is an awsome idea. While I love the SLR I almost feel like it isn't quite the car Benz deserves for it's flagship. The gullwing could be that and so much more.

Thoughts? ideas?

I think it's way too early to replace the SLR. If they did, then the SLR buyers will feel short changed, and if they can pay £350,000 for an SLR, I'm sure they can buy a lawyer and court procedings.


I think that if the company needs to move forward, they need more affordable cars.
The A-Class is fine, but few people buy it because of price issues.

Also, the Vaneo, Viano and C Class need replacing

Here in America the C class is the entry level and quite frankly I like it. As I mentioned earlier in this thread I test drove one (actually 2) and I enjoyed it. It's a great entry level Benz. My only problem was that at this point in my life I am not ready to drive a car that grown up. However when I start a family I can see a C230 as being our primary car.
