GTP_J_Turner, I think we have a system in place to get you one of the F1 cars if you need it. Unfortunately the F1 cars can only run with against each other, it won't let us allow FGT's to partcipate.

I can provide one 24 ticket per week if needed.

I also will start sending out the Lvl 24 this week. Gotta take care of the 500 podium finishers. Which I will do tomorrow at 7 and 8 then Wednesday night I am open to send to anyone needing.

Ok, I think Saturday June 18th is going to be the official day for the race. We will decide the time based on feedback from the group. Based on prior suggestions, I think around 6pm EDT would be a good slot that would accommodate the most time zones but I wouldn't want to do it much later than that.

If we hold the race on Saturday that means knockout qualifying will either have to be earlier that day or on Friday night, June 17th (the day before the race) at around the same time. I think doing it Friday night around 7 or 8pm EDT would allow the most people to participate, we don't want to have knockout qualifying at a time slot that most of the participants can't attend.

So, tentative schedule for the Monaco Grand Prix:

Qualifiers (Q1): June 13-16
Knockout Qualifying (Q2 - 20 minutes & Q3 - 15 minutes): 7pm EDT, Friday June 17th.
Monaco Grand Prix (78 laps): 6pm EDT, Saturday June 18th.

We can tweak the times by an hour or two if needed. Let us know your thoughts on this schedule.

Anyone needing a car ticket for a F1 please pm me. I do have only one requirement. You send it on before using.

So receive from me. Save game. Quit game. Save game file to a thumb drive or only e storage if have plus.

Start game knowing you have this ticket backed up.

Return to game send ticket to next person in line needing it.

To use ticket. With saved game on back up. Load game. Use ticket. Not a F1 but a FGT? quit reload back up with ticket. Start game use ticket. Repeat till you get what you want. ;)

Also for those that do send it on, let me know who and I will send you a lil extra for helping and not stiffing the next guy.

Signing up :mischievous:

GTP_Sohnvonstig - F10

I had fun watching the indy race last time, thought I'd actually compete this time :) BTW I just quickly read through the whole thread, why not have the race steward be the one live broadcasting, that way he can fiddle with views and such?

That's exactly what we're planning on doing! :) By broadcasting the "watch race" screen he will be able to switch views between different parts of the track, depending on where the action is. I doubt he'll be doing any actual "stewarding" during the race, as in imposing penalties or whatnot. Since he can only watch one part of the race at a time he wouldn't be able to hand out penalties consistently. But, there is a good chance he will be doing commentary during the broadcast!

Speaking of, I'd like to do a dry run sometime this week so he can have a chance to practice the broadcasting and get a feel for what's going to be involved. I'm thinking if we can get 6-8 of us together some evening this week to do a 10 or 15 lap race that he can broadcast and practice switching between views. Maybe do a dry run on knockout qualifying too so he can practice watching the timing screen and figure out who gets knocked out. I want to avoid any surprises on Qualifying and Race Day.

Let me know if anybody would be available for some dry runs, Thursday evening would probably be best for me.

If it is on June the 18th then I will unfortunately not be able to participate in the qualifying and so I won't be able to make the race. :(

The race is on the 18th and qualifying will either be earlier that day or the night before, Friday June 17th. Not sure if that makes any difference for your schedule, but hope you can make it!

I guess we should get a discussion going about times for qualifying and the race. Right now I'm thinking 7pm EDT Friday night (June 17) for knockout qualifying (should take about 1 hour total) and 6pm EDT Saturday evening (June 18) for the race.

Do those times work for everyone? If not, let us know what times would be good and we'll go with whatever fits the most drivers schedules.

If it's fiday afternoon GMT then I should make it but I will need a car though.

Knockout qualifying will be Friday evening, which would probably be Friday night around 11pm for GMT. Race will be around the same time on Saturday evening/night.

Vr I will pm me younger this week about info getting a Lvl 24 ticket

can you give me a rough idea of when this will be? If it is about 1 month then I'll run non stop b-spec and get an F2007 from the Level 24 ticket. If not then I'm not interested

Check about half way up this page and you should find all the info you need regarding time and dates. 👍 You have just under 2 weeks before the qualifiers begin and the race is just over 2 weeks away on June 18th. We can also supply you with a level 24 ticket to get an F1 car if you would like and are willing to follow the instructions about passing it on to anyone else who needs it. Contact OwensRacing for details.

I won't be able to make the race. I'm not in the ballpark with my lap times. Yet.
Got to say though; cockpit view in 3-D is freaking awesome in this car.

I'd prefer Ferrarity

I can make Saturday, 6/18, but cannot make Friday's qualifying session. Can I just start at the back?

Yep! If there are others that can't make knockout qualifying on Friday evening we can line them up at the back according to their weekly qualifying spot.

Ok, i should be able to make the week of qualifiers and race on the 18th. Just need a car.

If someone could gift me a lv24 ticket that would be great and i'll offer it up to someone else. Wont be signed into PSN until the Monday of qualifying (13th) though.

How do you get the lv 24 ticket anyway? I noticed someone say something about 500 podiums. How do i know how many i have already had (if possible)?

The 500 podium comment was referring to the 2nd and 3rd place finishers from our Indy 500 race. Owens is sending them level 24 tickets as prizes.

Send OwensRacing a PM and he will get you all setup with what you need to do with the level 24 ticket. 👍 Hope to see you on track!

I've made some minor updates to the OP with qualifying procedure and event times/dates. Seems like the proposed times/dates are working out well so far so we'll probably keep them unless something drastic comes up.

We are accepting more than 15 drivers for the weekly qualifiers and registration is still open. If I have neglected to add anyone to the registration list let me know and I will get you updated right away.

The dates are actually perfect for me.:D
It's the times I'm worried about. What is EDT to BST(GMT+1)?

Dates are perfect because I finish my state exams on the Thursday and go on holidays on Sunday. Pretty sweet, huh?:P

EDT is GMT-4, so that means you're five hours ahead.

I'm still planning on hosting some practice sessions tonight. I'm not sure if our steward/broadcaster will be able to make it but hopefully he can jump in to get a feel for what we'll be doing. If he is able to make it I'd like to do a short dry run of knockout qualifying so we can make sure everything works out properly. It's not going to be anything complicated, but I want to make sure there's no surprises.

I'd also like to practice the manual grid line up. We will release everyone from the pits in the order we're supposed to start, all drivers will go through the first turn (Ste Devote) and park on the Beau Rivage uphill straight in the order they were released. The first driver released should pull to the top of the hill and park just before the Massenet turn, the other drivers will park in order behind him. Once everyone has parked we will start the race, if we stay parked in that order it should start us in that order. See attached image for clarification.

I'd also like to do a 10 lap race with both the F2007's and the F10's together so we can see how they fare against each other. They are very different machines but on this narrow and twisty track they seem to be very level with each other. I want to make sure they are as level as they seem though, there's a chance we might have to add a weight or power penalty to one of them to make sure they are on an even playing field. I think 10 laps should be enough to find that out, hopefully we can have 3 or 4 of each car on the track for good comparisons.

Who all is going to be up for some testing tonight? I should be able to have a room open by 5 or 6 pm EDT and will be available until about 9 pm so just let me know who thinks they might be able to show up so I can plan accordingly. Once we get these small tests completed I will update the OP with all the final details for the event. 👍
