There is no doubts sone fast names entered in this race. Hopefully my tortoise ways can weather the storm and be in contention come final laps.

Oh I tought it was under race conditions, never mind.
Also, retention has already got his name on the triple crown on the Monaco grand prix so he is extremley fast round here. I think he was like a minute or so ahead of second place in a 39 lap race. I can't entirely remember from looking inside that thread to get the Monaco winner.

So, revention vs Wardez.

Edit: Also, me and senninha had an f1 race before in a no-go series and we locked out front row by over a second when we discussed qualifying times with the 3rd place man. He was 4 tenths faster then me.:eek:

He didn't get away though because it was Monza and then people disconnected and quit because they tought we were cutting the chicanes.
Remember this was a championship on GTP as well, which highlights how fast senninha is.

i will probarbly not make it 6 pm edt cause it will mean the race start 1 am my local time and i dont think my parents would be happy with me staying up to 3 am......:( can the race be moved 2 hour forward because if it do so i coul make it:) will still be practicing

Don't worry Reventon. Just check the name of the organizers, "Authentic"

That's what they're going for and I sure wouldn't be around if what they were doing wasn't faithful to F1. I'm a huge F1 fan.

Btw, your name seems sort of familiar (even though yes I know it's a Lambo. but I'm talking about your specific handle) do you do any rFactor or GTR league racing?

I just started racing in GT5 since January , I have no previous experience of racing in simulators. Well I went go karting when I was 10 years old but nothing professional cause I was too scared but I rarely do go karting because I think as a teenager I'm too old for it so I don't want to start off with karting but I am privileged enough for single seaters

But I will start my real motorsport racing career in 2013 and that's gonna be a huge step , hehe

You must be talking about GO karts, you know, the rental karts?
Like nine ponies top speed of forty.

You need to try and get behind of a Rotax either junior or senior depending on how old you are.

Those have 23-30 HP and have a top speed of ~80. :dopey:

Is it at all possible to be very competitive with a DS3 in this? I can do 1:12.x laps ok, but when I really try to go quickly im ricocheting off the walls all the time, I'm guessing with damage on pretty much any tap on the walls gonna hurt my car...

Anyone else using a DS3 or are all you guys wheelies?

I'm using a DS3 and I can say you're faster than me! I really want a wheel but don't have the cash right now. That's also why I'm against the manual transmission-only idea, shifting with a DS3 is a pain. I know whoever posted the idea said he didn't want anyone complaining that they have a DS3 but I'm going to anyway.

Has it been decided what tires qualifying will be run on? I know B and I talked the other night about it but just wanted to clarify.

Still haven't tried the softs but these are my best times on the hards.

F10 - 1:12.846
F2007 - 1:13.007

The f10 feels faster but is much less stable for me on this track. Tire wear in the rear would be a huge issue for me. I can't seem to tune it out either.

No way to tune that out. Just straighten up the tires to reduce camber then reduce your brake power by a lot (maybe 3/1) and you'll see a difference.

And hey guys!

I just got a HD PVR and decided to test it out using the first few minutes of the Indy 500 race.

Sorry if you're bothered by the music, I recorded it real quick before I left off to work tonight so it's just playing my custom soundtrack.

I plan on recording the whole Monaco GP and uploading it to Youtube in full 1080P just like this sample I'm posting here.

So here's the first 15 laps of the ASRA Indy 500 in full 1080p glory:

 
Ran some tonight and starting to get my feel. If I can put together one good lap I would be in the money.

Still got some tuning to do. I was playing with the diff tonight.

both are the same if you have the same amount of fuel.

I say we open it up for discussion. I think we should do quaifying on Hards, there's not a huge difference in grip but it would help make sure the cream of the crop gets in to the Grand Prix.

@Wardez, superb video! We were thinking about having our broadcaster try to record the video but if you're gonna do it that would be awesome. We're having a problem uploading long videos to youtube, do you know of a way to pubish longer vids? He has a 15 minute vid of the Capp race that it let him upoad but not publish because it was too long. Also, would you be interested in also broadcasting the race through Livestream (free to sign up/broadcast/view)? I'd love to have a main stream that switches back and forth between drivers but also have some onboard streams with a few drivers (you, me, owens, etc) on offer too. Have 3 or 4 channels to switch between, freakin sweet. 👍

Also, since you have the PVR would you be interested in broadcasting some of the Capp Cup races, or maybe making some highlight vids of the Capp's in action? PM me.

Yeah man for sure, I'm testing out all my new streaming capabilities so it'll be good to practice with you like that.

Also, as far as adding another stream during the actual race I'm all for it 👍

He may need to authorize or register whatever is required. I will text him later today.
 
If everybody can still make the race at 4pm EDT have no problem moving it earlier. But if we lose 3 or 4 people to accomadate 1 we probably won't move it.

Just thought I'd let everyone know, we'll be using Livestream to broadcast ASRA events and the iPhone app is free today! It's normally $5 so any of you iPhone owners should grab it while you can! Just thought I'd let you know so you can tune into ASRA races when you can't participate. :)

Wardez's feed says it's not compatible with mobile devices so we'll have to figure out how to make that work. Might have to upgrade to a paid account, if it's not too much we'll do that. I know at the very least a paid account allows us to stream multiple channels and full HD quality.

Looks like that was a sucsessfuly little experiment. I'll agree that I do like Livestream a little more than Justin.tv.

How did the stream look when you tried expanding the view, making it bigger? Did it turn to crap? I'm only asking again 'cause it was hard for me to tell on my end.

I want to schedule some official practice sessions this week for our run-up to Qualifier Week next week. My available times are usually earlier in the evening, between 5-9pm EDT and Owens is usually available later in the evening/night.

My times for practice sessions:
Mon 6/6/11 - 5-7pm EDT
Tues 6/7/11 - 5-7pm EDT
Wed 6/8/11 - none
Thurs 6/9/11 - 5-9pm EDT
Fri 6/10/11 - 5-9pm EDT


Let me know when you guys might be able to make it so I can have an idea of when we'll have a big enough group to do a couple tests. Qualifiers will start next week, we can either do them in group settings where everyone takes a turn or if you PM myself or OwensRacing we can open a room for you to do a run if you can't make one of the other times.

Got a couple questions for those familiar with these Ferrari's F1's.

Do you use the chassis reinforcement?

I do not have it installed on my F10. However the F1 2007 is installed. Gifted car from before trade embargo.
