The new track is a nice addition. I have to admit that sometimes what makes this game boring is the track selection. So Motegi is absolutely welcomed. Besides, it was one of my favorite tracks in GT4.
As for the Scion... although it is not an entirely copy-paste situation, it does hurt a bit after all this time waiting. But hey, it's free, and I don't really see it as true DLC and just as an advertisment strategy from Toyota.
I'm sure we'll have a fat and juicy car pack coming soon.
This. You're paying for the track (Actually 3 tracks). Motegi was one of the most asked for tracks (that was already modeled) and we're getting all three configurations.
As for the car, if you were paying for the car, I'd agree wholeheartedly. The thing is free, so retread or not, PD is not trying to sell you a bill of goods.
All things considered (Ok 1 thing, Academy) PD has stayed pretty much on track with releases. OCD changes, seasonals get added, TTs get added. While the size of this DLC is not large, given what they just did with Academy, I am willing to cut them some slack. Also, do you need more than one hand to count the number of games that are still release DLC and making udates 2.5 years AFTER RELEASE?
Yeah, I opened myself up to the "other games have released new versions" argument. Honestly, that is a weak argument in my mind. We knew the score with GT5 when it was released (even if we were guessing for most of the time before that). I think we've also beaten the GT6 on this platform discussion to death as well. It's not happening. GT6 will most likely be a PS4 first release Christmas of 20XX. So, this is what we have as far as GT is concerned for the foreseeable future. The longer they continue to support it, the better off we are (Unless you like Forza or the like and can afford 2 consoles. And don't you (general you there) dare try to use that as an excuse to turn this thread into a Forza v. GT5 battle.)
Ok, now I've opened myself up to the "Supporting an outdated over-the-hill junker is not something we should be happy about" argument. Again, I say weak. We knew this was the path 3 months after release. To continue to trot that out as a legitimate argument is weak. If you are still playing GT5 enough now to actually be reading this thread, your own actions betray your argument. There's what is and what should be. The "what is" of GT5 is a lot better than many of it's peers regardless of how much you wish it was one of Plato's Forms.
