Ladies Car:

Mid-'90s Chevrolet Cavalier Convertible, only driven by young females or older hairdressers. Red with the white top? Yeah, you get the idea...

Are you kidding me? I'd totally rock that Bimmer!

Nice car? I'll have whatever you're taking, daan!
Tough crowd...

I saw Ms Pink today but didn't manage to get a photo. I've lost my mobility for the next 2 days too. My car is in for a service & MOT and it needs a hub flange, whatever that is (I'm sure they've just made it up!)

Daan's really on a roll here... That Pink Ford KA is hilarious on its own, until I saw the number plate! And I've never seen anything as upmarket than that BMW in such a vile colour...

we are looking for bad colors? i saw a pink lambo a while ago and i almost cried. it was in oregon so i didn't have my camera with me :\

Tough crowd? Not me. By "rock" I meant "cruise and be cool". It's good to rock something. Bad to stone, however.

1) Generation Game - Get examples of as many generations of a model of your choice. Twist: The generations must be consecutive to count. So if you have photos of a MK1 MX5 a MK3 and a MK4, the MK1 won't count unless you find a MK2.

With this category, do Phases/Facelifts count, or is it only discreet Marks?

For instance... MX-5s. There's Mk1 (MY89-MY98), Mk2 (MY98-MY05) and Mk3 (MY05-) MX-5s. But there's also a facelift Mk2.5 (MY01-MY05). So, if you get all four, is it four or just three? If you get Mk1-Mk3 with no Mk2.5, do you get two (Mk1-Mk2 consecutive) or three?

I raise the point as there's a couple of model sequences with obvious facelifts between Marks which are classed as Facelift or Phase variants and not Marks which, if Phases/Facelifts were included, would give a HUGE number of generations (should you be able to find the early ones) but, if not, would give just three or four.

I think Keef has a winner of one of the categories in his garage and doesn't even realize it.

I was just thinking the same thing.

Generation question: The winner will be determined by highest amount of cars or for complete set?

That's what I assumed - and I'm having a whale of a time with it. I've got nigh-on 12 model lines on the go at once - and it's fun suddenly having to take a detour because I've spotted a random, generic piece of rubbish from 1987 which just happens to have a certain name.

Follow-up question... In my market, the Vauxhall Vectra first appeared in 1995. In, for example, -Diego-'s, it first appeared in 1988 as the Opel Vectra. We got the same car as -Diego- from 1988-1995, but it was called the Vauxhall Cavalier. That means -Diego- can spot the same four cars as me (Vectra A, Vectra B, Vectra C, Vectra D), but I'd only get three of them as the first is a Cavalier despite being the same car.

So... do cars with different names in different territories still count?

Got my car back today, and went a wee run on the look out for li'l miss pink.

Found this instead.

Then we found this

Numberplate was "P17NKV". Obviously going for Pinky, and failing miserably.

Re the Cavalier Vectra point. I was thinking the same but using the Nova/Corsa example. I would assume that would be ok. I've been so caught up in getting li'l miss pink that I've forgotten what the other categories were!

New Entries:

Girl's Car:

Its not a very good photo, but its a Ford Aspire, in pink, which as I recall, was actually made by Kia at the time...

White Delivery Vans:

Its got a V8, it can haul an S-load of crap.

I got a pink Corsa this morning :D

On the generation issue, I'm going for a complete set of cars... some 5-odd generations of it. I also saw (and took pics of) the new Mondeo, so I might also go for that one.

A purple car with the number plate 'Beki' can be proved 100% to be driven by a girl.

12 Generations

4 generations - with many facelifts. Hence my facelift question.

12 is pretty impressive. My best has a maximum of 8 if you include facelifts. My other best has a maximum of 6 is you don't.

4 generations - with many facelifts. Hence my facelift question.

I think is should, because many face lifts bring lots of changes. The 1978 VB Commodore is completely different to the 1988 VL, despite technically being the same generation. As wikipedia says concerning the VP to VR 'Approximately 80% of car was new in comparison to the preceding model.', as well as new transmissions, braking systems and engines. It's almost a completely new car.

Just like the 1986 Jaguar XJ is completely different to the 2002 Jaguar XJ.

Sorry, I didn't realise I won!

I'm currently very busy, so here are the catagories I thought up already. If I don't post up the rest by tonight, then someone else can fill in the missing catagories.

Largest Estate Car - The usual purpose of these is to carry as much stuff as possible - the bigger the better! Size determined by length x width x height, as in previous catagories.

Oldest stock car with one windscreen wiper - it's unusual to find a car with one windscreen wiper, but how old can you go?

Bonus - Mercedes SL65 AMG - one point per sighting:

Civic Si? Hell no!

Don't worry, James will have enough categories. He's asked for a few pointers. :D

Does the single windshield wiper have to be stock? It's a tuner car fad around these parts.

I agree... that particular Type R hasn't appeared around here either. Anyhoo, here's my final entries:

1) Generation Game -
I give you (what I think is all) the generations of the Ford Fiesta.

2) White Van Man on Speed
It came down to the only van I found today, since I kinda lost my list

Some Merc van. I doubt it's as fast as the others posted, but I didn't want to not post.

3) Does my bum look big in this?
After what everyone's posted, it just came down to finding a pink car.

4) Nice car, shame about the colour

Toyota HiLux in freaky green...

Toyota Yaris in the same freaky green...

And Merc CLS Class in burgundy...

All which are nothing compared to...!

(actually, tied) between a 190E Merc in Chrome yellow and a Daihatsu Storia in "cat vomit" green.

How about an SL65AMG as a bonus car? Each one you see you get a point.

IF sold everywhere, then add it...

Edit: And yes, stock wipers.

1) Generation Game -
I give you (what I think is all) the generations of the Ford Fiesta.

You have Mk2, Mk3.5 (the one with the rear "S" spoiler may be a Mk3 too), Mk4, Mk5 and Mk6.

I thought the generation game had to be cars parked next to each other or near each other in traffic, not just random photos of a particular car in multiple iterations...

EDIT:

If we want to do hot Hondas (replacing the Type-R), we could do the Integra Type-R, as that was sold in the US, but very rare indeed. Otherwise, my suggestion would be for an older style of GTI possibly?

Sorry I have been away so couldn't follow up with your clarifications, but...

If it is the same car then I guess it would count. For example we get both the Mazda MX5 and the Eunos Roadster here but they are really the same car. I wouldn't count it if it is a badge engineering job though.

I'll count facelifts as a .5 :)
