Bonus already...

...Atlanta loves its Porsches.

I agree - clicking on the exact model for "my" Accord gives 1760mm. They must have had a Parkerspaz.

How are we going to work this one:

3) Fastest car with the most colours
Find a two-toned mid-80s MR2 and you've got something going. Find Ford GT with stripes and you've got a winner. Stickers/vinyls aren't valid.

Most colours wins? Fastest car wins? Which is better, a two-tone 200mph car or a three-colour 180mph car?

Is there a database where we can look to see what cars have glass headlamps?

I can tell you what bloody cars don't have bloody glass headlamps.

I've been wandering around car parks, touching up headlights this week. So far I've found negatives on:
BMW 5-series (E90)
BMW 1-series
Audi A8 (either generation)
Audi A4 (B7)

Insider information tells me that Mazda stopped producing its last glass-headlamped car in 2002, with most of the rest of the glass-headlamp models being killed off in 1997/8.

I suppose that's better than going around car parks touching up other things...

Bonus Point:

Fastest two colour car, yes it has a black roof and red body. Camaro Z28. 0-60 in 5.2 seconds and a top speed of 160mph.

My dad's new(er) work van with glass headlights, I know this because I've had to replace them. 2002 Chevy Express G2500 Cargo Van. And yes I took this out of my bedroom window.

Damn the edit function for not showing "new" posts... I was thinking about it, and I guess it's a bit late for it, but I'm guessing fastest wins, regardless of the amount of colours, as long as it's more than one.

New categories up later tonight or tomorrow.

Fastest? Like top speed right?

That was a dumb question :dunce:.

That was a dumb question :dunce:.

I asked it some time ago as well... thinking of 0-60 time. Fast = top speed, Quick = acceleration.

Alright, categories are ready, I'm just thinking up the bonus car.

Next Week's categories:

1) Most Expensive Driver's Education car
The car must have the Driver's Ed tags and all the signs on it... double steering wheels is a plus 👍

2) Slowest"sports" car
Find a car with "sport" (or racing, or GT or something that denotes a speedy manner) in its name. 0-60 times.

3) Mercedes tuners.
This category is a bit tricky. Many tuning companies have their go at Mercedes-Benzes, and I want you to find them. The companies I can think of right now are Brabus, ASMA, Carlsson, Project Kahn, Kicherer and Kleemann. However, you will receive one point per each brand you find. So if Doug finds two Brabus, he will receive one point. If Gashly finds two Brabus and one ASMA, he will receive two points. In the end, the person who wins the category is the one who finds the most different brands, and will in turn, earn an extra point for winning the category.

4) Smallest car with a 6-cylinder engine
Car may have a V6 engine, or an Inline-Six engine or a Boxer-6 engine. Any other configurations? As before, length x width x height = X

Bonus car:
More trickyness from me:

I'm having a GT4 nostalgia. Gran Turismo 4 has many one-model marques. You will receive one point (and one point only) per model marque. These cars are:
- AC Cars 427 S/C
- Autobianchi A112
- Callaway C12
- Caterham Seven Fire Blade
- Cizeta V16T
- DMC DeLorean
- Eagle Talon
- Ginetta G4
- Hommell Berlinette
- Jensen Interceptor III
- Marcos Mini GT
- Mercury Cougar (the 1960s model)
- Proto Motors Spirra
- Saleen S7
- Seat Ibiza Cupra
- Spyker C8
- Triumph Spitfire

So if you find 57 Spitfires and one Eagle Talon, you will receive 2 points. The more of different marques you find, the more points you will receive.

Any questions or comments, I will answer/consider gladly. I'm posting them today so if anyone has any objections about the quanitities of potential points being handed out, we can reach an agreement without sacrificing much hunting time.

Eagle Talon . I think there are 30 of those on campus.

And with the V6 does it have to be a car or can it be a truck, SUV, van?

Awesome. Eagle Talons are all over the place, and a guy at the welfare office owns a Triumph Spitfire.
Though I personally think if you see a Cizeta you should win all of the points.

What's smaller, on a completely unrelated note: an Alpine A310 or a Mazda MX-3? And why are all the very small 6 cylinder cars absurdly rare?

What's with this whole glass headlight thing? I understand perfectly, but just to cause a ruckus I'd like to point out the fact that the lenses on all these projector headlights you see are glass. It's actually a pretty massive, solid, inch-plus thick lens. The bigger it is the thicker it is. Makes a great magnifier and paper weight.

For number four, there is a pretty obvious one for us Americans. Thing is, its a pain in the ass to be able to tell all of those models apart...

Yeah, problem is, they look so similar to the other ones that its often hard to tell. Although I'd assume they're far easier to find here in the Rust-Belt than anywhere else... Hooray for minivan engines!

Well, okay, maybe I don't know what you are talking about. But I guessing what I'm talking about is smaller than what you are talking about, so everything is good.

I was thinking of the Dodge/Plymouth P-Body. That, at one point in time, had a 3.8L V6.

But they're sealed inside a unit with a clear plastic front cover...

Alpine. The MX-3 is shorter and narrower by about an inch (167 vs. 166; 66 vs. 65) but about 5 inches taller.

And with the V6 does it have to be a car or can it be a truck, SUV, van?

You won't be winning much with a V6 in a truck/SUV/van, because they're intrinsically quite big.

Especially given that I already have an MX-3 V6 spot tomorrow morning... :D

I was thinking more along the lines of the little black truck out in my driveway.

Wouldn't a ricer mean it would have to be Japanese? If anything it's more like uhhhh...what the hell do us Americans grow? How about a Corner or Wheater?

I was thinking more along the lines of the little black truck out in my driveway.

MX-3 V6 - 4,200mm (L) x 1,695mm (W) x 1,280mm (H) = 9.11m^3
S10 Blazer Xtreme - 4,491mm (L) x 1,723mm (W) x 1,648mm (H) = 12.75m^3

My 4615 x 1780 x 1354 seems to make 11.12m^3.

I'm shocked that I'm longer and wider than a Blazer, though :(

This is going to be a hard week for me.....

Next Week's categories:

3) Mercedes tuners.
Brabus - Don't get in NZ
ASMA - Don't get in NZ
Carlsson - Don't get in NZ
Project Kahn - Don't get in NZ
Kicherer - Don't get in NZ
Kleemann - Don't get in NZ

Does AMG count?!?

4) Smallest car with a 6-cylinder engine

**Wanders off to find a Mitsubishi Mirage V6***

Bonus car:
More trickyness from me:

- AC Cars 427 S/C - Don't get in NZ (unless replicas count)
- Autobianchi A112 - Don't get in NZ
- Callaway C12 - Don't get in NZ
- Caterham Seven Fire Blade - Don't get in NZ (unless Frasers count)
- Cizeta V16T - Don't get in NZ
- DMC DeLorean - 2 in NZ
- Eagle Talon - Don't get in NZ
- Ginetta G4 - Don't get in NZ
- Hommell Berlinette - Don't get in NZ
- Jensen Interceptor III - Does one in bits count? If so I am off to dads!
- Marcos Mini GT - Don't get in NZ
- Mercury Cougar (the 1960s model) - Maybe if someone personally imported it
- Proto Motors Spirra - Don't get in NZ
- Saleen S7 - Don't get in NZ
- Seat Ibiza Cupra - Haven't had any SEATs since they tried the Cordoba and it bombed here.
- Spyker C8 - Don't get in NZ
- Triumph Spitfire - Fairly common here

.... but then a challenge is always more fun:tup:

Two door Blazers are tiny for some reason. And here people accuse me of driving a big SUV...it's them cars you have to watch out for .
