Red Converts, 4 so far, and I don't know why my camera keeps doing poor pictures, I'm going to take it to Best Buy tomorrow.

-Diego- Props for having over 100 pictures, dang! Must be easy pickings in a country like that though, over here it's really tough to find GT cars. Gonna compete on any of the spot races anymore? I need a break :D

To be honest, the part that 'saved' me was that GT is rich in small, economy cars, which are really what abound here.

In the spot races, I'll be submitting many from now on. I got a MaxDrive in the mail yesterday and I have many replays to put up as well as many more laps to do... many cars to go!

My wife is going out of town for a while too, so I'll prolly have more time as well.

1. Most red Mazdas. User seeing the most red Mazdas gets a win.
Oh cripes... Here we go:

MX-3 V6 (one pair), 323, 626, Mazda6, Xedos 6, Premacy and MX-5.

Eight, unless you don't include my own car. In which case, seven.

Incidentally, I ran a DVLA Vehicle Enquiry on the Xedos 6 and it returns as "red".

2. Most red convertibles. User seeing the most red convertibles gets a win.
Sadly, I missed out on a lovely XJR, but nearly everything else which passed my way and was convertible and red got captured... :D

f3hscavhuntredconv1au6.jpg

Audi TT

Micra CC and MGF

BMW 320i Convertible and Mazda MX-5 (NA)

f3hscavhuntredconv10dp0.jpg

Mini Convertible

f3hscavhuntredconvsparerz5.jpg

MG TF (it's different. Okay?!)

That's 10 in total. Plus a bonus MGF which isn't different, but counts as an eleventh.

[Ace Ventura]And that's the game![/Ace Ventura]

3. Least-powerful rear-drive car. Cars only - no vans, trucks, SUVs, ...

4. Most pink vehicles. Anyone see any pink cars ever? I saw a pink '94-'98 Mustang convertible today.
What a selection... Brrrr

f3hscavhuntpink2mp6.jpg

f3hscavhuntpink1dh6.jpg

f3hscavhuntpink3ia4.jpg

Ka, Corsa and 206 CC.

And yes, the 206 CC definitely is pink, else I'd be entering it in red convertibles! DVLA check returns it as "Pink".

Bonus: BMW X5 4.8is or 4.6is.

No bonii :(

Yep. From 1996-1998 the base 1.6 had 88hp/90PS, coinciding with the release of the 1.8i engine in the NA - when the 1.6 was retained as a detuned "option". The standard 1.6 car from 1989-1995 had 108hp/110PS.

Edit: 133hp? Negatory. 116hp tops in the 1.6. 133hp is a 1.8.

One more convertible:

Also, any definitive word as to whether or not we can take pictures of burgundy cars?

My burgundy Xedos 6 is registered by the DVLA (all vehicles in the UK must be registered with the DVLA straight from the manufacturer, with data like their colour, engine size, number of seats, chassis number) as "Red", and I've provided the link to prove that for any of my cars.

But whether "burgundy" is acceptable is up to Doug and Doug alone.

Sounds good, how about a friendly run of stock cars on the 'nurb? Rather than the tuned cars in the thread, I thought maybe we'd just do a few stock cars for kicks. Let me know whatcha think :)

the PM system works like a charm for these kind of questions ;)

@Famine: Didn't you post that same Mini Convertible pic when posting the ones from Joey D's bonus car?

I posted the same Mini Convertible, yes. But not the same pic. We do a trip once a fortnight and that car is in the drive of a neighbour of someone we visit on that trip. Luckily, we were there on Saturday :D (and probably next Saturday too - so no red, convertible or Mini categories this week, please :D)

Ha! Where I have been vacationing you have got to be kidding! You've seen the average age/value of the cars I have been posting over the last couple of weeks.

:D something tells me I'll never be able to compete against people from other countries. Oh well, i'm not giving up ;)

Come on me and Doug win all the time and I'm from Michigan and he's from Atlanta/Denver :D.

Hopefully it's just bad luck with the categories. :D Off-topic, do you play Forza 2 at all?

Yup sure do, go ahead and add me to your buddy list.

On topic:
Who's up for new categories tomorrow? Diego?

Yeah, I seem to have forgotten... anyhow, here's the new categories for next week:

1) Different coloured BMWs
So... find all the different colours in which BMWs come. The model itself is unimportant, but the most colours wins. If Doug finds 12 different coloured X5s counts more than if Famine finds 8 different colour and different model Beemers. If Gashly finds a yellow M3, then yellow's "taken" in his collection, so no other yellow car will be valid.

2) How many models?
Pick a marque (Ford, BMW, Fiat, Nissan, whatever) with at least six different models in its line-up throughout history, and find as many examples of those cars. One mark per model and/or generation. So if Joey finds a 2nd generation Taurus, despite "covering" the Taurus mark, he'll be able to get an additional mark if he gets a 3rd generation Taurus as well... it sounds more complicated than it is, but I'll answer any questions. Obviously, this category rules out some car makers.

3) Newest car with a hood ornament.
Not looking for a badge...

4) Oldest Korean car
(Hyundai, Kia, Ssangyong, Proto Motors... go crazy!)

Bonus:
Volvo C70

and now, my entries:

Red Mazdas:

Do I get extra points for the most amount of 323s? I got eight Mazdas, anyway: Six varieties of the 323, a Demio and a 6.

Red Convertibles (not one is a Mazda!)

That's two Golf Cabrios, a Mustang (yes! a Mustang!), a Mini, an Opel Tigra, and Pug 206cc.

Slowest RWD

Smart (50hp), 0-100kph in 18.3 seconds.

Pink Car
Just one

A Seat Marbella, which didn't come out as pink as it was.

Bonus:

All the X5s I saw either didn't have the badge or were 3.0i

...different model Beemers. If Gashly finds a yellow M3, then yellow's "taken" in his collection, so no other yellow car will be valid.
Hmph. I didn't realize BMW made a motorcycle called M3. How silly is that?

Found one more red mazda today:
mazda3jz6.jpg

Saw a few red convertibles but couldn't get any good shots. Also saw a BMW X5 but wasn't sure on the trim.

-Diego- I'm really confused on the 2nd category for next week, what do you mean by 6 models in its lineup? If I understand correctly, say I find a Chevy Blazer, Chevy Tracker, Chevy Aveo, Chevy Cavalier, Chevy Beretta, Chevy Lumina, Chevy Monte Carlo, Chevy Caprice, Chevy Impala, Chevy Camaro, etc. I'd get one point for each of those? What about luxury divisions or similar divisions (i.e. Acura/Honda, Lexus/Toyota/Scion, GMC/Chevy/Oldsmobile/Pontiac, Ford/Mercury/Lincoln, etc.)

Ford is Ford, Acura is Acura... Honda is not Acura, Lexus is not Toyota and so on.

By at least six models I mean that the marque you choose must have at least six different models in the market... current or past, so you can find them and take pics of them. But that's just so you don't shoot yourself in the foot and go with, say Bentley... and get yourself stuck with two or three models.

You don't get a point per pic, you get a mark per pic. At the end of the week the person with the most marks gets the point for that category. So if you were to choose Chevrolet, and you find all those you mentioned (making it 10), but Famine goes with Vauxhall, and he finds 11, he gets the point.

Note: Even though there are Opels/Vauxhalls in Europe and also Chevrolets, they aren't interchangeable. Meaning that if you go with one badge, you can't use a rebadged model of another marque.

Wow getting American cars in this area will be easier then my prom date...ohhhhhh snap!

Got it :D My college is full of old American junkers, I got this one in the bag ;)

Not yet in the States. How about new C70?

Where the hell have you been? I saw a C30 on the way to work today, the local Volvo dealer has already gone through three or four...

Red Convertibles:

Thats a Pontiac Sunbird Convertible, sorry about the blur)

Red Mazdas

Least-Powerful RWD Car

Good for 205 BHP, on a good day... I think its a LX 5.0, but if it has an I4 (someone may know better), it should be 105 BHP

I don't know if this is the right X5 or not but maybe someone with more knowledge could tell, it looks like it might be the right one:
