4. Alpha and Omega
I'd like two examples of a model bearing the same name - the oldest you can and the newest you can. The biggest gap between the two gets the point.

Bonus car: Aston Martin Volante - ANY convertible Aston Martin. ANY. 1pt per spot.

I assume that we have to have one of each?

Just to help the Americans; There was only one car sold in the US with the Omega name. It came from Oldsmobile, and I've never seen one. Thats a good measure of how rare it is.

I don't mean to burst your bubble, Famine, but the Vito is a Mercedes-benz, not a BMW

Nononononono. Not cars called Alpha and Omega!

"I am the Alpha, I am the Omega" is a description used by both God (Bible) and Death (Discworld) of themselves. It means "first and last".

You need to find the earliest example of a model name you can and the latest example of a model name you can, submit both photos and the biggest gap between the two wins.

Example:
-Diego- posts a 1993 Ford Mondeo and a 2007 Ford Mondeo. Gap = 14 years.
M5Power posts a 1987 Lotus Esprit and a 2003 Lotus Esprit. Gap = 16 years.
daan posts a 1983 Toyota Corolla and a 2006 Toyota Corolla. Gap = 23 years.
daan wins.

Get it?

While you are in the mood for answering questions mighty Famine. With regard to your "Not in GT" category do you mean specific models within a range or the whole model range? ie Take the M5 sedan for example does that mean that as a 5-Series has featured in GT a 1992 525i (which hasn't been in GT) could not be entered?

Since it's not Japanese, it can't be entered anyway.

But, hypothetically...
An E60 BMW 5-series has been in GT4 - E60 BMW 5-series are ruled out.
An E39 BMW 5-series has been in GT2 - E39 BMW 5-series are ruled out.
An E35 BMW 5-series hasn't been in any GT game - E35 BMW 5-series are not ruled out.

Except it isn't Japanese...

BMWs aren't Japanese, who knew?:embarrassed: (But then people in Yellow [BMW] Vitos can't throw stones) :D

OK, so a MY99 Subaru Impreza HX-S couldn't be used because a 99 WRX STi has been in GT?

Correct - moreover a GC Impreza of any kind, since a GC has been in every GT game...

How about my 1995 DC4 Integra LS (non-vtec, b18b) whereas only the DC2 Integra Type R (vtec b18c), DC5 Integra Type-R (vtec) or the GS-R (vtec b18c) has been used in the Gran Turismo series? ;)

Chevy Cobalt:

Heh, I just noticed the colorado has Hummer H3 rims and the Cobalt has a pontiac grand am wing.

Edit: What are the chances, there is a grand am parked in front of that cobalt.

I've considered it, and dropped on "no". It's a 3rd Generation Integra, and 3rd gen Integras have been in GT games.

Incidentally, what's the difference between the DC2 and DC4?

Alright, so the points for this week are as follows:

1) Different coloured BMWs:
Gashly, but I think he knew that already.

2) How many models:
I counted 41 found by Gashly... Thirdeye was close, btu a few models overlapped each other (like the Cavalier), so the point goes to NZ.

3) Newest car with hood/bonnet ornament:
Doug got the Maybach and Gashly got the Benz

4) Oldest Korean car:
Thirdeye got the '89 Excel (I always give the benefit of the doubt regarding generations) and Famine the '89 Pony,

Bonus: niente

Final points:
Gashlycrumb: 3
Famine: 1
M5Power: 1
Thirdeye: 1

Nice effort, everyone.

Pretty much just the engine & transmission. The DC2 has VTEC and comes only in Manual Transmission, the DC4 is the B18B1 non-vtec (142hp) and comes in your choice of Manual or Automatic transmission. The DC2 also had different wheels and came with a spoiler.

Are we including special editions, or just model runs?

Example: Mazda MX-5... 800,000 units. We have a Berkeley... 400 units only.

5)Bonus: (1 point for each)

Are all of those cars sold worldwide? I can't imagine the Pulsar/Sunny GTi-R making it to the USA, somehow...

Special Editions count.

Both Mazda's are/were sold in the USA. That is why I had a range of three. All three are also available as personal imports in most countries. Rare spots granted, but available none the less.

Cool. I'll get a shot of Ellie with her roof off. Multiple category spots FTW!

Just go on a trip to Halfords and you'll be in with a shout in the maximum riceage category too!
