It doesn't look THAT out of place... I mean, if it were whore red with a dragon coming out of one side and flames on the other, I'd count it out.

While I was at a dealership (Troy Honda looking at the Mugen Si) I saw this, however it was not for sale and it was clearly a customers car. I had to wait for them to get out and go inside before I snapped the picture. Hopefully this counts.

Definitely not a factory color. I'm on the fence about this one. Others' opinions?

Seen plenty of Audis that colour. Theres an earlier A6 avant down my road that shade or very similar. The pic posted has a slight cyan tint to it. Take the cyan out and you end up with a fairly average (around these parts) burgandy colour. Whether or not you could class it as red or not is a different matter.

basically, the categories moved from seeing the best / rare cars to who can see the most average cars in a particular colour. This week categories are slightly different. I will see what I can find.

I think that happened so that everyone could take part. It's easier for me to see 25 VW Polos than one Ferrari. Being a weekly comp, it's pretty hard to time the sightings.

I headed out today with the camera... And figured I probably won't get anything decent. Couldn't remember what Audi I had to look for, so I pictured a Q7 3.0TDi

yes but that introduces the element of luck. No compeition is complete without an element out of anyone's control. (independent variable)

Personally, I prefer those "find something original that works within those guidelines". Like the small-car/big-engine, that sort of stuff - with specific-cars finding reserved to the bonus questions. I even like categories like this week's oldest/fastest/slowest/cheapest. Despite Porsches costing like 10 Fiats.

The "find masses of cars that appeared in Gran Turismo" and "find a billion Chevys" just makes me auto-skip the thread in my subscriptions.

Yeah, the small car big engine week was the one I nearly won, but diego took the last point instead of me because yssman's diego beating entry was too late :(

The "Find as many as you can" categories are pretty rare, they just happened to be mentioned in following weeks. But still, from a personal standpoint I prefer looking for some specific thing in an everyday car (like newest car with one windshield wiper, one rear-view mirror, etc) than some rarity I'm highly unlikely to ever come across (like a V16-engined car).

Still, the more people and different categories we get, the merrier.

I'll try and enter this week, but 4/5 of the categories are sooo unsuited to Hong Kong it's unreal. Still, mustn't grumble it'd make it all the sweeter if I actually won any of them.

You, who can spot 7 S-Classes in a single photo, would struggle with "Quickest Mercedes"?

Haha! You'd think, right? But jesting aside, that's the category I would have thought I would have least trouble in until I saw Joey's entries. I'm tearing my hair out trying to see the highest end AMG cars here. I think I've only ever seen one SL65 and one S63 - it's quite bizarre.

Okay, two entries for one category:

Quickest Mercedes (0-60):

n78001441_30445492_9419.jpg

Mercedes-Benz SL500: 6.1 seconds

n78001441_30445493_9724.jpg

Mercedes-Benz E55 AMG: 4.5 seconds

...I think I need to spend more time back "home" in Forest Hills for this week's stuff...

Aw darn, I saw a silver SL500 today as well, I wonder if it's the same one you saw, YSS. I saw it at the Vietnamese restaurant I frequent, the driver only appeared to be 18-20 years old. It looks like it might be the same one, the one in your picture didn't have it's tabs on the plate, nor did the one I saw. Very cool :) I didn't get a picture of it though.

I nabbed the SL500 after I dropped my Mom off at work (I had the borrow the Pontiac this morning while my car was getting some final tuning done), just after I crossed 96 on Fulton. I was headed towards Aquinas, so I was in that EGR/Forest Hills area, and it very well could have been the same car.

Usually around this time of year the SL500s are locked up in the garage, so I was surprised it was out and about. Particularly with that quick blast of snow we had a lunchtime...

Unfortunately, i only have one pic to contribute for this week's hunt. Havent scavenger hunted for a while so this is all i can do. I will try to enter in more categories next week

Edit* I was just lookin at Joey's Mercedes post and it made me wonder... The CLS63 and the E63 having the same 0-60 time is understandable because they are both luxury sedans that are about the same size. But how can an S63 still make it to 60 despite being so much heavier?

Categories for this week...

1. QUICKEST MERCEDES.

A week full of 220 CDIs for me :(

2. SLOWEST BMW.

We have...

f3hslowbmw1be3.jpg

BMW 118i - 0-60mph in 9.1-9.8s

f3hslowbmw2kd1.jpg

1993 BMW 316i - 0-60mph in 12.3s

3. OLDEST AUDI.

f3holdaudixo2.jpg

1994...

4. CHEAPEST PORSCHE. Based on current value. The condition of the vehicle photographed will be taken into account.

Annoyingly, the white, 1984 944 I know which is up on blocks has, inexplicably, moved. No entry :(

BONUS: 1996-2001 Audi A4 sedan in red. Doesn't have to be my red, just has to be red - several shades were made. Oddly my color isn't the rarest, but none of the reds are common.

Get looking for those German cars!

I had TWO Avants. TWO! :(

I shall merge these posts in the morning - I had to get my entry in before midnight, so I shall leave the previous one unedited until Doug has had a chance to see and verify it...

New categories:
1. Quickest Ford.
2. Oldest Toyota.
3. Fastest car not from the USA, Japan, Korea, France, Germany, Italy, Australia the UK or the Czech Republic (and when I say "from", I mean the traditional nationality associated with the manufacturer, all other concerns aside). Best of luck.
4. 5-cylinder cars - 1 mark per car, most marks gets the point.
Bonus - Audi Q7 (1 point only)
