The car doesn't seem really fit to be lowered appearance-wise.
The wheels need to be smaller, no bigger than 16. And wider obviously. These 17x7. The flushness is good but they look skinny and the tire look weak. The car doesn't seem really fit to be lowered appearance-wise.
The biggest difference between the two is hidden under the bonnet. The 1.5- and 1.8-liter naturally aspirated Mazda engines have been replaced by a 500 Abarth-sourced turbocharged 1.4-liter with 160 HP and 184 lb/ft (241 Nm) that drives the rear wheels via a six-speed manual or auto transmission.
Looks more like a Chrysler than a Fiat.
But 17s with some sidewall mess up your speedometer in the wrong direction. Also, what the hell is with American Miata people and 6ULs? Get over it, people, have some imagination.17s look fine with some sidewall. You don't need to change the brakes either (they did here though).

That Fiat definitely takes the honors for most preposterously ugly car of 2015. Could it be any more dopey and disproportionate? Not that the 124 had anything approaching classic sports car proportions, because at didn't, but it least it wasn't offensive to look at. Look at the proportions of all the design elements in this side view...there is no socially acceptable language to describe how awful this car looks.
I do like how they didn't really change the interior at all though. At least they didn't ruin the hard work Mazda put into that.
I call penalty for taunting.
