6/10 this car does nothing for me. Of course i never been a big fan of the NSX. Who is this car aim at? hope is not the 458? cause why on earth would i buy this over that masterpiece  And hahaha it looks like a R8 from the sides

I read that Honda/Acura want to offer "458 excitement for 911 money", so given it's performance credentials, it'll likely be aimed towards the likes of the 911 Turbo, Nissan GTR, R8 V10+, Mclaren Sports Series etc. If it does end up with 550+hp, then it'll be treading close to the 458.

It's too pricey especially when it already looks kinda old (or rather not as bonkers as the competition) because we have seen it in one form or another for so many years. However it will probably be a dream to drive.

What has been confirmed from the multiple sources I've been reading from is that it'll have the 550+hp from just the engine itself. The battery pack should add about 50hp at minimum so more than 600hp is very reasonable. The 458 is about to be replaced in a few years and the rumor of the 600+hp 458 T means this NSX should stay within the game.

It's beautiful.

It's a Longitudinally Mounted, 75 Degreed, Twin Turbo V6.

Orders begin in Summer 2015, Deliveries begin in Autumn/Fall 2015, prices start at about $150,000 (that's about £100,000...making it about £25,000 more than a GT-R. Hmm....)
9 speed dual clutch

550+ HP

Electric only mode

Wow, this is crazy.
Not bad. Not bad at all. Not surprised it's priced at 150 grand. Sounds like a reasonable price. Neither am I surprised about it being a hybrid with a twin turbo V6. That was pretty much set in stone. What I am surprised about is the 9 speed DCT. I'm assuming it's an in house unit. For some reason, I was expecting a 7 speed transmission.

That interior looks a bit meh, so does the whole car to be honest, you better impress at the track Honda.

9 speed dual clutch trans ? Aw come on are we entering the era where Fast and Furious starting to become a reality ? I like the look of the concept more than this though. But this still looks good.

Shorter gears means better fuel economy and a better chance at making acceleration times drop because you're constantly in the power band. It also means more tunnel pulls.

It needs a black roof. Because reasons.

It's an NSX in the sense that it's mid engined and powered by a V6. And that's about it. Whereas the NA1 is arguably timeless, I feel this one will age quite poorly. In fact, it came out hours after the new GT, and it already looks dated.

These super car designs are just so bland these days. They don't stick out anymore.

I wonder whether Honda will do a Type R version. * at the thought*

I feel they will and that's when McLaren will step in :sly:

Cue Button selling NSX, Senna style.

EDIT:

And this has been my thought ever since the rumor mill started about Honda joining McLaren. It was only solidified when they actually did it.

I think I've seen that before...

It looks bit dull for a supercar, it doesn't really stand out. Or maybe I'm still stunned by the Ford GT.

That's the thing, it already looks like it's been around for years because we have seen it for years as concepts, sketches etc. That and other supercars have in the meantime become crazy looking but in the case of the Ford GT I think it's gone way too modern.

That's probably the main issue of the car. Honda took so long to release the car, and teased it so much, the novelty factor wore off a bit. That's the problem of these Japanese manufacturers; they really like to promote their concepts as much as possible rather than just get out for production...

Oh well, at least it should a proper driver's car, lest Honda screws up...

VXR
You might look at it with rose tinted glasses now, but in its time, the original was a safe, somewhat bland design.

Compared to most of Ferrari's designs in the '90's, sure, it is true. The Honda always had that "affordable sports car" thing about it, that's probably why the design became so tame as the car grew older and older.

I dunno. When Jerry Sienfeld is praising the car, it's like he's gonna buy one for his mother to drive to Walgreens. And I'm a Honda fan!

I wonder what the original would cost today with inflation factored in.
Depends on the year and condition. There is 1 NSX for sale in the UK. A 1996 NSX 3.0 Automatic. £23,000. So, £70,000 for a brand new NSX isn't that far fetched

Nothing a little bit of wrapping can't fix, would probably be cheaper too
