Here's a new setting ive been working on with my friend's dad, I pulled 1'36'400 flat with this setting (on Trial Mountains). It may feel very different from all the other conventional drift settings but this is the setting you should get used to (if your willing to improve your time OR if you are racing against a grip racer / drift racer). You'll find it significantly harder compared to the other 'showoff settings'-- you must utilize your E-brake more than your regular break and you must focus more on the angle of your 'line of path'. Your car's response time will be increased and you may find it harder to adapt (Especially due to altered Gear Ratio). But practice makes permanent. Lower the ride height and increase the spring rate while changing the shock to 9 front and rear once you get more comfortable with this setting. As funny as it may sound, Gear ratio actually matters when you drift and it can drastically increase your personal performance with the right touch. The gear ratio on this setting is set specifically for the RX7's powerband and peak performance.

If you dont like this setting, just stick with your Show-Off setting and go have your fun. If your serious about drifting and you want to improve; start being a reallist and challenge yourself to improve your skills.

Buy all drivetrain parts, put up N1 tires at the back, N2 on front, aids to 0, even with stock HP you should drift those things pretty awesome 👍

Nothing to add, this car is pure 👍

N2s and slight downforce (5-10, equal front/rear) will turn it into a great race drift car. N1s and little/no downforce allows for mad 4-wheel slides, fully controlled.

Any technique will work, lift-off is very smooth with this car. Feinting and dynamic can be a bit too much, but if you catch it fast you can get instant big angles.

Gear ratio autoset 9-10 should be a good starting point.

The dampers and stabilizers could need some fine tuning (softer front bound perhaps?), it doesn't seem to shift weight 100% like I want it to... and I might try toe instead of ballast in the future. It's perfectly driftable like this though, and it's capable of very long controlled drifts. The typical Supra wheelspin problem seems to have been sorted, and there's plenty of countersteer response and control available.

Feint and dynamic (basically feint to brake or power) works best for me with this car, but a lift/power combo also works for a smoother entry with less initial angle.

these may seem like weird settings but this car is veryy stable and can handle really sharp turns or fairly long ones. It's my favourite car at the moment. I usually just brake slightly for about 1-2 seconds before the turn, then push the brakes all the way, start to turn, and shift down right after you start to turn. You dont have to use brake balance or downforce if you dont want to.

Yup, you read correctly.

This is something I've been sitting on the fence about for a few months now. I'm looking to hand the Drift Settings Depot over to a new owner.

Given my schedule at school I simply cannot give this thread the attention that I feel it deserves to make it truly successful - and with more midterm exams coming up again next week, and finals in little more than a month, I don't foresee things getting better.

So, here's the scoop. If you're interested in becoming the new owner, fire me a PM and maybe just a quick reason why you'd like to do it. I'm not looking for a life story, or even a particularly noble reason why - just saying you'd like to have more involvement in the forum, or that you want to help people out is more than enough for me. I'd just like to be certain that the member to take over is interested in making this thread as useful as possible and the they are willing to donate their time to it.
