The Oval Tunery

Hey crazy, did some more work on the Chevelle tune last night and came up with some big improvements. Best solo lap time 45.631 with a top speed of 201 mph down the backstretch. I know there is room for improvement tho.Interested to see what you can come up with.

Finally got to work on the Chevelle and I got up to 201mph and pulled consistant 45.6s and got down to a 45.591 on fifth lap. Going to try some more adjustments right now.

Cool. Sounds like your right where I'm at with it. Can't let you get ahead of me so it looks like I've got some work to do, lol.

EDIT: Just got done with another test session at Daytona with my Chevelle and I got it down to 45.426. Not a big improvement but still an improvement. Pretty confident I can still find more speed.

Sorry, it's been a while since I last posted any new tunes. Time is not on my side anymore. But if you have any requests you can PM and I can pull up what I have from GT5. I have lots of cars done, but no time to transfer to here. Plus a lot of my tunes here are good but I do have variations on most of them that are faster or for better tire wear. If you need any help just PM me, thank you.

Hey Ken, thanks for all the help!!! i was wondering if you have a tranny set up for 3 gears on Indy raceway and also Daytona

thanks again

For Nascar of course

Of course I know what you meant.

Is this good for B-Spec?

For sure, it's a good setup for any Bob!

I unfortunately do not promote 3 gear trans setups. I like to utilize all gears at a low rev. I do this to save approx. 3 % gas because I run endurance races that come down to pit stops. On a side note, I also have settings for tire longevity that I don't include on this site.

Try setting top speed 20mph more than typical and move fourth gear all way to right n move 3rd gear same way but a little less. This should get your trans running third gear in high rpm's. If this still fails, then try moving final gear to left of slider about 30%.

269MPH, in a strong draft room i've gotten up to 250MPH in a draft in 4th gear. With a lag bump i've shot to 264MPH topping out. Not the best gearing for a weak draft room as I find myself having to shift into 4th for like 2 or 3MPH. But i've solved that by taking 3rd to 1.250 if I remember, the downside is it effects your solo time. 1.218 I pull mid to high 41.5s, 1.250 it drops to 41.7s or .8s.

Hows the progress for the chevelle. I'm in the same club as you guys, I'm running 45.4s with a best lap of 45.451 and a top speed of 201mph. Problem is I think poor aerodynamics come into play and the power takes a huge nose dive after 6500rpm, so getting the gearing right is the key. I love this car and I know it has potential to be faster. I used to have a setup that hit 204mph on the straightaway but I lost it after my hard drive corrupted and can't remember for my life.

I have my chevelle setup very nice. Send me a pm and ill share it with you.

And as for top speed, I assume you are talking about NASCAR?

I can hit 211 by myself at indy if I use no aero. Car can't be pushed though but still is good for race and can push other cars great.

I have been running the neon srt4 on Daytona with muscle cars and winning, it will run 210 mph without draft if anyone is interested in my setup, I could post it.

That car is fast!! Its more than meets the eyes when fully upgraded/modified.

Send me a PM with your tune please!

I've noticed that you have Cuda setup on your list, is that finished? If so, I'd like to get in on it. Been really getting into muscle car racing at oval tracks, lately and have not seen a Cuda for Daytona setup anywhere yet.

Remember to send your requests to me via PM and ill shoot back to you my tunes. Sorry but I don't have anytime to update this thread with new tunes. But my garage is full of cars tuned to these tracks. So just shoot me a PM with your requests. Thanks! And thanks for bringing my tuning garage to the front of GTPlanet guys. Your feedback and requests have been what's kept this thread alive and I do appreciate it. I'm always willing to help level the playing field at the ovals.

Quick fix, try lowering final gear to 2.800

Just wanted to say a big thank you to you. I've not used the Nascars until last weekend as i had no interest in them. Normally i tune my own cars but i've been struggling to find the right set up for Nascar. I've tried most of the tunes now but all seem to have their faults. I'm yet to find a fault with yours & have to say that they feel pretty much spot on. So once again a big thanks for posting them up for sharing.

Thanks! 👍

I have been working on more tunes that are for longer endurance races. Pretty tricky to fine them. So that's why I have only posted tunes that I felt like were done and could be used in general for a spec, b spec and online lobbies. Enjoy!

Thanks! Any tune you guys particularly like?

Thanks for the nascar and 63 vette tune man I stay in the stop 5 now.
Do you have daytona tunes for these cars, Cien concept, Trans cammer, ford gt no trips '05, tvr cerbra speed 12, I'm having a time with them. Any help on them thanks so much. :dopey:
