I have always wanted to own a wrx. Like you said @BrandonW77, they are safe and fast. They aren't ridiculously expensive either but since I'm still not a licensed driver and I don't have that much money the wrx is still out of my price range and I'm not entirely sure I could get my mother on board with letting me own a sports car. :sly:

Don't get one as your first car, you really need at least a few years of driving experience before you get into one. I had one for two years and they're very quick and can get you in trouble (both with the law and with your guardian angel). Now a standard Impreza would be a great first car, still quick and almost as much fun to drive, gets you through 12" of snow, and you can tell your mom how safe they are to get her onboard. :sly:

How many other dealerships have sections of their websites dedicated to crashed cars?

I agree with what Brandon said. It's quite a rocket to be your first ride. That's no reflection on you. Even an Outback, with that 2.5 is pretty stout and you can make it a sleeper as you get more comfortable on the street. I would love to find an SVX Alcyone (or Al Capone as my buddies and I call them) in good shape myself.

Driving an S10 currently, but would love to put a Nissan SR20DET in it and see what would happen. :scared: Take your time and save your money. You have many years of cool cars to look forward to, that's for sure. The last time the possibilities were this great was in the 60s! Keep us up to date with your exploits, but most importantly, come home safe to us every day.

Thank you guys I'll take that into consideration . And yeah I only go fast in video games :sly:. I try to stay within the speed limit as much as possible

Whats this...! The Mazda not doing it for ya then?

The Mazda is a stop-gap. I needed to trade my WRX for something more affordable since I was starting back to my old job that has a half hour commute. I spent two months trying to find a good Subaru but had no luck so I had to find something else to hold me over for a while. The Mazda is ok, it's turbo with AWD so it's just as fast and handles just about as well as my WRX did but the fit and finish isn't nearly as good as a Subaru and it's safety rating is rather poor in comparison which concerns me more than I thought it would. Plus, it's old (2006 with a touch over 100k miles) so ever squeak or rattle concerns me. I plan to drive it through the winter and begin a new Subaru search in the spring. Would love to find one of these hunnies.

S2k are really nice. And dangerous too. :scared: I don't I will ever own one nor do I think I want one either. Besides, by the time I could afford one, they'd 30 years old. :yuck: And the insurance companies probably will raise your rate like hell for just owning the thing

S2K? They're nothing to be too worried about, they aren't homicidal like they are in GT6. It's RWD so you have to pay it the courtesy any RWD requires, but the power doesn't come on until very high in the power band. At lower RPM's it's probably no more dangerous than a Civic. I just checked out some used ones a few months ago, good ones go for around $15k in my area so not too bad at all considering how much car you get for that money. Because they're getting a bit older I'm sure insurance rates aren't as bad as they could be 👍 But yeah, I certainly wouldn't recommend any RWD car until you have at least a few years driving experience.

My source is wikipedia so if someone has more info, I would appreciate it. I understand the early versions were considered somewhat widow makers but later versions were improved in the way they handle.

Also on the lower rpm range the S2000 should behave like any street car. You have to push to high rpm before the sportiness kicks in.

There might be a new itration before I am close to the goal. But also I believe the car will live on as a future classic :)

Probably had more to do with the knobs driving it then the car itself. I think they were a bit beastly at first but only if you treated them wrong. If you gave them good touches they would behave nicely. :P They are definitely on my list for my dream car garage, not at the top but they're in a good spot as I've always been a fan.

How could you call an e-type rubbish?! :banghead: That thing is beautiful. It is just so elegant and its one of my favorite cars of the period. Plus it goes vroom vroom . What do you say @BrandonW77, good first car?

I've got to say I'm no E-Type fan either...

Evening guys, just dropping my head in - it's been a while. I intend to be making an appearance at future weekends, what days and times is stuff happening now?

B, what was that kart thing yesterday?

I have changed the settings so I do not get pop ups of people joining and leaving. Unfortunately it filters messages as well. Anyway I was busy with Z8CC so could not have made it anyway.

Tonight GT300 at Suzuka, right?

Howdy stranger. Details are in the OP. We're racing GT300 cars today at 3:30pm EDT but I know you don't like cars with downforce. I think we'll be doing vintage cars next week though.

Amar and I were just fooling around, trying to get some kart racing going. See you tonight in Japan.

I give up. Too many problems to list today, between different kinds of system crashed and major network issues. 🤬 Annoying as hell. Wasted a whole hour and managed to turn half a lap. :ouch:

Good luck to all, hope the races are fun. Really disappointed that technical issues are preventing me from joining in!:banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead:

So, I've been testing some vintage cars, with mixed results. I stuck to premiums and with the street cars I have a really hard time getting them dialed in to each other. Even when the specs are fairly similar there is a wide gap between most of them that I couldn't reconcile. Especially the muscle cars, I couldn't get them in line with European vintage cars at all (10-15mph to fast and 2-4 seconds too slow!). So I gave up on them. I had some better luck with vintage race cars so I suppose we'll give them a go. I found at least 7-8 premium race cars (with aero and liveries) that should work and I could get them in the same relative range. I'll try to test them more tonight and get some firm numbers for you guys.

Oh boy that was exactly what I was fearing :nervous:. Are the muscle cars close to each other and just not with the European or are they all over the place too?
