Is the GT40 mk1 allowed:cool:

Which one is that? Does it have numbers on the side? I have the blue/orange one and it's allowed.

I always know when @John Wells has logged on to check his GTP.

@John Wells The GT40 Mk.1 is technically a street car, but you can put numbers on the side and it really does stretch the meaning of "street car".

I would say yes, but let's see what @BrandonW77 says...

I'd imagine that would be ok with numbers on it, and probably needs racing brakes added. It will look a bit plain compared to the rest of the grid though. :boggled:

You can add a number and racing brakes to the Mk I, as well as paint. Good choice!

My choice is the '69 Camaro RM. Plenty of grip, even with SH's, very balanced, so I would recommend dialing the power down rather than adding weight. I also have a good trans based on the Richmond Road Racing 5-spd if anyone needs it.

It will be plain though as it will be the only car without a livery, which doesn't thrill me. Part of the point of doing race cars is to have a livery.

We are running these on SM and SS though.

Well, if anyone chooses the Cobra, it'll also be lacking a livery. Some of them, like the Camaro don't have much a livery either.

@BrandonW77 And I think r34 was saying that he was choosing what was previously named the Camaro "Race Modified", thus RM. I think he can read what tires we're using. :P

But the Cobra can have stripes!! :P (I doubt anyone will use it though).

I realize what car he was using but he implied that he was running it on SH so I just wanted to be sure he knew we were using softer tires (present company excluded).

Also, the 69 Camaro I tested was down on power in spec form, I had to add a bit of power goodies to get it up to pace.

I am using SM for the official version. But I like to test on Hards because, if the car handles well on SH tires, I know I will spend less time backwards on SMs. A trick for grip I learned form a tuner friend, that I always tune for one hardness up from what I'm going to use. Especially on high power FR cars.

I do think I want to test out that Trans Cammer before I make my final decision. I have never used it in an official race of any sort. Anyone tried that one out yet?

I haven't dialed the Trans Cammer in but I have driven it and I'm rather fond of it. I don't think it's technically a race car but it has a roll cage and a window net and all kinds of guages, so it qualifies. Probably needs racing brakes to be on par with the other race cars though.

I'm back!

Vintage cars ey?

*digs through garage*
Oh here's one!
Any chance of the Ford Mark IV being allowed?

Also is the racing still on Tuesday and Sunday?

Well, it's supposed to be race cars, but it seems the rules don't have much bearing on the cars people are choosing.

Ahhh, that car. That's certainly a race car. I think you'll have a hard time getting it dumbed down but if you can get it on target then go for it! 👍

Took all of five minutes to get near the target, some additional tweaking and it should do fine.

It's looking more and more likely that my game save is corrupt. :ill: Despite reinstalling all the game data, I'm getting increasingly frequent system hangs basically everywhere -- dealerships, garage menu, setup menus, you name it, I've had the game freeze in it.  :( At first it seemed like reinstalling had fixed the problem, but it seems to not be the case.

Every other game works just fine, and a new GT6 save with a new account that I just created is working fine (so far!).

Anyway, I should be able to work my way up to having a car or two ready for Sunday's races.

@amarynceos That's a damn shame...and will hopefully teach me to back up my saves often. :scared: Hope you can join us. The Challenger is about 170,000Cr, the Camaro 215,000. So, maybe those would be good options.

I'm also going to take the Mark IV GT40, but I kind of wish I took another now I know someone else is using it! It was hard to dumb down enough for me, which is why I asked for the tire exemption. Maybe I'll have to save enough for one of the other beauties...

Yeah, I'll have to run one of those two. It's too bad, I was rather hoping I could nerf my 330 P4 enough to run it, seeing how we never used it in the Ferrari festival, and I've not yet had the chance to race it against anybody. Somehow, I don't think I'll be earning 20mil before Sunday though.

Have you tried this: http://community.us.playstation.com...if-you-have-freezing-lag-issues/td-p/37337765 ? I did it a couple months ago and I noticed my PS3 running better.

@Torzilla 👍 Yup, that was the first thing I did this week, before I resorted to reinstalling the game data. Alas, it had no real effect. :irked: (I was really hoping it would do the trick, too!)
