^ Yes, indeed. I think I may just put it on my tablet and set that next to the rig so I can catch the start (usually the only good part of a GP these days).

For me the tough part is which to have on: F1 or NASCAR. If you want to know, I chose NASCAR. I know. But hopefully I will be there for the F1 race and V8 Supercars if at all possible.

How were the races today? It turns out when some of my friends say "can you help move a few things" it means move an entire house full of crap, so I couldn't make it today.

First congratulation for keeping this form of racing alive and well, I have a lot of very good memories from the "dead nuts".
I could see from an other thread that you are in the process of putting together a PC to race with AC.
AC is where I spend my SIM time, count me in as a participant and also possibly helping, if I can, if the Parity Racing makes it to Assetto Corsa.

Is parity racing even possible in AC? I don't know what kind of tuning/power options you get in that game.

Can You send a link to the thread of planning for racing in AC?

He just means I was in the Assetto Corsa Hardware Thread asking about specs on a PC, no race planning. 👍

Well, this happened.............

hahahahaha, I'm doin exactly the same right now , but I'm going for an used one 👍
I truly hope we stay together in other Games (Ac,PC,IR)

:sly:Greatness awaits ....not on PS4 though

Brandon (or should I call you Stigshero :D:bowdown:),could you share the Link to the PC , I just want to compare .
Is this thing running triples out of the box ?

Ha, agreed! Glad to see I won't be alone out there in the great PC wilderness! Here's the link. It should be able to run triples, it has the Nvidia GTX 970 which seems to be the big dog in GPU's right now so it should have no problem running my 3 720p monitors. To do 3 1080's it might struggle a smidgen but should be able to do it. I'm thinking I'll be able to run most games at (or near) full detail at 60fps (which, I believe, is the highest my monitors will go). It's all greek to me though so I have a lot to learn. Will probably have to re-learn how to drive though since everything will feel/look so different. But I'm ready for new tracks, new cars, new challenges, and more features, time to step up to the big leagues.

This is awesome , I'm looking exactly at the same gpu right now .
the gtx 970 was recommended by some members on virtual racing forums here in germany.
awesome but totaly mental guys there , very helpful though .
I started a thread there, asking for help and got it immediatly.
just for your information what I mean by mental , a guy who lives accidentialy 10km away from me uses this masterpiece :eek::eek:
long way to go and a lottery jackpot is needed :D

I'm looking forward to finally being able to use these kind of goodies, but that will be a ways off. I'll have eaten a lot of PB&J before anything like that happens!

Exactly the same here :-) at least I got a working ButtonBox and a tablet which will be used for those Ihud things.
I´m gonna be poor during the winter , SRH.com and Mister Speare are getting an order soon ;-)

No Pb&J for me , in germany is noodles & ketchup :-)

Did I understand wrong , you´re eating PB&J , peanutbutter+jelly ( I know it from a song :-)
Some typical murican stuff,.
If you´re broke in germany the only affordable food is noodles with ketchup ;-)

Yes, PB&J = peanutbutter and jelly. Noodles with ketchup just sounds like a very odd combination to me. But then, so does potato pancakes. :odd:

:D Good to know I'll have a couple of familiar opponents when I make the jump to PC-land myself. Hopefully it'll happen by the end of the month or so.

The mass exodus is happening! I'll be waiting for you on the other side.

Here is my contribution to the PC racing world...

It will actually run PCars although the weakest part is the graphics card... or rather lack of!
Been thinking of iR, but have to be sure before laying a monthly sub.

What's gonna be the title of choice amongst those moving across?

@KingKlingeling RE that rig picture, I have enough aluminum section in my garage to build two of those (probably)... just no where for it to go though. Very cool though.

So, if you wanna get your last dose of parity racing in I'd recommend joining up tonight or Sunday because I'm sure I won't be in GT world much after that.

Yeah. But once you go PC it's hard to go back to the lifeless GT. Plus, I'll have a lot of time ahead of me relearning how to drive, unlearning all my bad GT habits, and learning all the new, glorious circuits. And I guess the AI in AC is very good so I should have plenty to keep me busy and I'm sure it won't be long until I completely forget about GT.

EDIT: Not trying to hate on GT, it's just the way things are. I was able to put the blinders on for many years and enjoy it for what it was, but the blinders have worn through and the call of the dark side has become too strong to resist. It's been a real pleasure racing with each and every one of you and that made up for most of GT's shortcomings.

Well, I've built a cheap, gaming PC from extremely cheap, used components bought on the internet - and AC works really good at high to ultra settings!

I've spent about 420$ for everything, full PC (based on overclocked HD 6970 and i5 2400 and 8Gb RAM). Not a beast like Yours GTX 970, but still, it was a perfect, really cheap deal!

Soo, I'll be able to race in the PC world! :mischievous:

BUT, I really like GT and that feel, that it's still rather a game than a simulation. I love the design, content, soundtrack, GT feel and amount of cars. But I think, it's just a feeling that I got used to, so I'm sure AC will be just way better after some time of playing, but I'll miss that GT feel.

As You, Brandon, I'll have to relearn driving :D
My "technique" which I use in GT - handbrake tapping - I'm sure it will be horrible idea in AC :D I don't even think about it!

That's about 1/3 of what mine cost (in Murican dollars anyway). Mind if I ask what GPU you're using?

Exactly. I honestly hate that you can do that kind of stuff in GT and "cheat the physics". Same with "backing it in" like moto racers do, this was very prevalent in GT5 and people could shed a lot of time off their laps by doing so which made it impossible for others to catch up to them. I presume these kind of shenanigans will not be present in the PC games, or at least to a much smaller extent. I'm sure I will die many times trying to learn how to drive again. :scared: :D

I plan on keeping my GT copies (two of the six are digital anyway) so I might pop on every now and then to see what's going on and race some karts. 👍

As I said, an overclocked HD 6970 (with i5 2400). Perfect price to quality ratio, but it's a pretty old card. Bought it for 90$ (used), but it was hard to find it cheaper than 130$ in Poland - great deal!

Full PC costed me exactly 400$ which includes shipping costs :D
