Cold weather has kept me indoors lately. No better time than to organize some of the older stuff. Came across this old favorite:

Snapped this tonight. Won't be long before she grows out of these:

Nice shots skylineGTR_guy, took some more playing around with my extension tubes the other day, here are some shots.

Nice little moth, not sure what type tho! very small, we get them all year round, they just sit still in one spot for days, then go back outside.

My lens cap.

We have this plant growing up the front of the house, the flowers are still going (its very cold now in Yorkshire) and it produces fruit with putrid pink seedsin that look like an extra from an alien movie (guna get a snap next time around)

Blurry mess.

Z man... damn fine job on that mustang pic. i love the way the suns coming from behind and giving a bit of a glow to the back.

Woah, she's cute. Nice shots all around, good job on her, specially one of the last ones with the sun coming from behind.

some artsy shots. i just ordered a holga for myself for christmas; playing with that thing is goign to be alot of fun.

Thanks guys :)

That was actually my 2nd shoot, my first one (linked below) was more of a practice and looking back on the one below I wish I would have done things a bit differently, I want to stick to more real than all soft and over processed like this one.

this shoot was with my fuji, the shoot above was with my 30D. I have to say I dont regret upgrading at all :) miles and miles better with the 30D :) 100% crop on my fuji was near impossible, and a ton of CA, bad noise, the 30D may be the best thing I've ever bought

anyway for a comparison here is my first one, although I much prefer the second shoot.

I just did a third one today at laguna beach, that should be up sometime after thanksgiving because I'm heading out of town, but I'll keep you posted.

Next I think I'll be buying the 70-200 F4L and probably some type of flash diffuser as the flash annoys me to no end. I'll also be working on learning the manual mode better so I can get out of auto and start unleashing the potential.

I found this site quite helpful, I highly recommend it, here is the exposure chart used in conjunction with the chart below it:

Wow, great shots guys!! - they look amazing on my new monitor

Here is a picture I took on my phone on Saturday morning, as I staggered out of my bed and on my way straight back to the pub... a bunch of community workers were cleaning graffiti from the bridge... was glad to capture the water since the Nokia 6280 actually takes the pic about 0.5 secs after you press the 'Capture' button...

Great shots star. 👍

antihero im likeing the direction of those shots, making them look like polaroids gives them something that reminds me of Silent Hill.

Touring Mars nice shot especially from a phone.

here are a few more from my extension tubes, since the weather seems to know my days off from work, im unable to get out and about, unless I want to get wet, just hope sunday or saturday afternoon are clear.

So many awesome photos since my last visit!
antihero, tabs, sprite, Giles, skylineGTR_guy, vladimir, Neocrox, Charles, Burnout, franz, Moglet, Ultrashot, Cod_Father, .star., Z... Well, pretty much everyone! Great job! 👍

EDIT:
Where's emad?

Took a two pics while I was in my backyard dribbling the soccer ball around.

I love your new set of pics Sprite... the watch is amazing, and the detail on the pound coin is terrific 👍

cheers, yeh I was suprised by the detail myself, im learning how to sort the exposure so as not to underexpose and also keep a good enough shuttr speed so when hand holding im not getting blurry shots.

holy hell. for those that browse deviantart.com, you know that a daily deviation is a proud honour to have. i can't believe it but i got one today for http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/22291665/?&qh=special:dd . it may sound ridiculous but i'm as excited as an 8 year old on christmas morning.

Great shot, not supprised it won, well done.

Here are some more from me, playing around today with extension tubes and trying something different with mushroom shots.

got loads of other shots of just random things but none turned out that well, yeh they were in focus and sharp, but nothing with that extra thing, just everyday run of the mill walk around shots.

thanks guys.

sprite, could you go into a bit more detail on the tubes and the lens you were using? shots look great, but the bokeh in them has alittle something extra than most shots.

That is a fantastic shot there. The B&W conversion seals the deal.

And @sprite: Yeah, basically going to ask the same thing as antihero did. The bokeh is insane.

the bokeh in those is superb indeed, they have a very unnusual look!

Cheers for the feedback guys, Basicly they are from my kit lens with a 13mm and 31mm extension tubes, but the only problem is that I have to be on top of the subject (no way am i going to be shooting bees or wasps with them :scared: ) those shots are of mushrooms that are about 4cm high and are about the same across the top and the lens is about 5mm from the subject, im laying on the floor with my chin in wet moss. The top one is of coral fungus that stands about 3 and 5 cm high, im quite pleased to find it.

@ vladimir nice shot 👍 whish I lived close to building like that, the only chance I would get is if I went to Leeds, but then they are not like those.
