It's been a while since I've come here. You guys have some really great stuff 👍

...It's just a shame I blew my SLR money on buying my new guitar

Here's some of the latest from the plog

Just thought I would post this for you guys to look at, I love macro photographs (more arty than techy shots tho), but this guy is amaizing, he also posted up a tutorial and information on Flickr about how he goes about getting shots like this. If I find it I will post it in here.

man those flowers in the water drops are pretty cool

AH - I like the first one and the one with the gear best 👍

Emad - that last building looks pretty sweet

Very artistic shots as always antihero, makes me want a good camera even more. :)

Love all you 350Z shots skyline, am I right in guessing that is your car? It is a sweet looking car and you take sweet shots of it. 👍

actually no its not mine, It's my friend's car and both of us just happened to have alot of spare time on our hands  I drive an accord EX :yuck:

I'm finishing up school in one more year from this month, I had the option of either buying a new car, or paying off school, I chose to pay of my school and I'll buy a new one when I'm done with school.

I say you should change the WB on that one, make it more natural looking with a more eutral light.

I agree, a small problem though. My D40's raw files dont allow me to adjust the white balance to anything I want. basically when I open the .NEF file a window pops up and all I can change is the exposure and the white balance can only be changed to other settings on the camera, ie cloudy, shade, durect sunlight etc. there are no slider bars where I can adjust it manually. I have also tried other raw editing programs but they dont even recognise the file :indiff:

thats what I get for buying an entry level DSLR.

looks like I have to carry around something white with me so I can manually set it for different lighting conditions.

Very nice AH and emad 👍
skyline: they have more noise than previous Z photos
but the filter is a nice touch

Yeah it was pretty dark and cars kept passing by at random times, I was trying to experiment more with the location than the actual car because I'm looking for places that I can possible shoot at when I start doing features.

Last Friday our class was “learning” about photography, etcetera, etcetera; I don’t have a camera so I shared with another guy’s basic point and click and progressed to trundle around town. Major Photoshop whoring ahead.

I think it’s time to start saving some money.

Wow, skylineGTR_guy, I love those 350Z shots. I prefer them to the other set too, the noise in them really gives them a nice raw feel. Good work. 👍

i like that first shot alpha.

some from an abandoned hotel, not my best shots but whatever; you can't really use your brain at -20 degrees.

I really like the city-scape anti, well i like all your shots to be honest but that one shines in this set. There isn't a single place like that here that i could take shots at. Im not in the smallest city but its not "industrial" enough to have the types of buildings you have access too, wish it did because they make for great photography ops!But it is in the low 70 degree F here too. Here are a couple i did last night. First time i have ever tried to shoot at night to be honest. Im usually so tired from work that i come in and eat and do the home thing and crash. On your D70 anti do you have a problem with noise at night when you shoot in ram format? I tried a few in raw and was having issues with it, but since it was my first try at night guess i will have to tweak around a bit.

And you should be.
May I suggest something? I think that the spotlight should be cropped off. It's too distracting.
I really like that shot. 👍

ah: the "caution" shot is awesome!
alpha: nice seeing you around here. That first shot is nice.

Nice one AH 👍 love the location
do you happen to drag around the objects to approach better composition?

holden: great shot mate, well done

Antihero: those shots are great, considering your brain wasnt working ;)

I kinda set up a 'studio' in my loungeroom today:
