Very nice shots đź‘Ť, but try and get this one in the frame, it ruins the pic if you cut of the top. Its details like that that make or break a shot.

Excellent sharpness and DOF for such a small object and on the eyes too !!

Thanks for the comments.
Yes, when I cropped the image I noticed that it wasnt entirely in the frame. For the next photo's I will watch out for sure.

I've never seen any hobos in Decatur. Maybe I just wasn't looking in the right alleys. :dopey:

You just moved to Decatur, i have lived in this area for 25 years. Decatur is the crap hole of Alabama . Point blank. It even smells like it, just go down Wilson st. in Decatur and the pure stench of the raw sewage right off the road is almost unbearable, not too mention the paper plants, crappy trailer parks, i could go on and on with why it sucks.

Woah, I'm getting weird.

I havn't moved there yet. ;) But I'm definately not looking forward to all that crap. :indiff:

What is the reason for you guys to move to Decatur from someone pleasant like Florida? When you get there let me know and i can tell you some good spots to shoot and such in Huntsville area.

My mom wants to live with my sister since she's getting older (mom, not my sister  ) and I'm just going along with her. I'll be getting an apartment in Decatur so I'll be on my own. :D

Well thats a good reason really. Family first. But instead of just jumping in an apartment in Decatur you should at least take a look at huntsville first. There are allot better job opps in Huntsville than Decatur also, plus its just better all around. There really isnt much in decatur, but when you finally hit the city just let me know and i can show you around and such if you like.

Thanks for the advice and the offer. :) I know there's much better job opportunities in Huntsville, and I am definitely considering looking there for jobs. It's not too long of a drive from Decatur to Huntsville so it wouldn't be too much of a burden.

Yeah actually allot of people travel from Decatur to Huntsville for work. What type of job will you be looking for here? Reason i ask is that i know people that i might be able to give you a little help getting something. Do you have any trades like painting, welding, flooring etc.? I know people in a few places like Compusa and such also. Actually thinking about it just pm back about it if you would like me to ask around cause im sure everyone is just loving this conversation that has nothing to do with photography...:)

Anti, do you do allot of Gaussian blurring and sharpening in your photo's in photoshop or is that all camera? I really admire your art, im just really allot better at portraits than anything, but im working on the other stuff...ive just done so many stinking weddings that i guess ive developed the portrait side and havent gotten to work on the other types much.

i was bored last night & decided to take some s hots of a waterbottle on my desk; not bad for a 100 dollar camera. Open them in fullsize to check out the detail it caught. I basically had the lense up against the bottle.. as i said tho - i was just messing around cause i was bored.

thanks. i love portraits, but it's hard to get them to work out the way i want them. i don't have the ability to 'set up' a studio styled portrait, mine are just spur of the moment type things (which i think help in bringing a natural element). i don't do any blurring or sharpening, i try to avoid any of that. usually it's dodging and burning with some curves adjustments.

Well actually i dont do any studio photography, i hate the "posed" type looks on everyone. If someone wants something like that i will tell them, ok i will do them but not in a studio. Like i usually goto a park and if its shots of theyre kids then i tell them just go out and play with them, be natural and i get great ones everytime. I was wondering about the blurring and such cause i always have to do it in photoshop, guess when i get a new lens things will get better in that department too. F stop on my lens could be better.

That's what I like to hear :) . I do do a bit of blurring, just with the blur brush on certain parts as the I find the d70 can produce some jagged lines.

I'd like to take all of them for a ride.

Friend at work asked if I could take pictures for this Moose Lodge Fishin Rodeo, as they call it. The top "anglers" were awarded bikes. A few of the others got rod/reel/tackle boxes. Pretty fun time out there. Sun was beaming pretty hard on us though. This is the first time I've taken pics like this. Also my first big shoot with my new Sigma 17-70mm.
