I'm working on a car rig as we speak, pretty inexpensive and simple compared to other setups, will test stability and reach hopefully tonight, should be pretty easy to photoshop out too. Once its done I'll post up a parts list and pictures of it and some action shots so you can see the results. I'm also planing a few improvements so I'll keep you updated on future designs.

I'm just sick and tired of people being so secretive about them, if you ask someone about them they act like you just punched their grandmother or something. I understand that some of these people make a living off of their car shots but if you feel that sharing is going to be some threat to you then thats just insecure. If someone out there can do something better then you then thats just motivation to push the limits and do something even better. Sharing ideas is what leads to innovation and improvements and takes everything to the next level. Theres also simply no good reason you should have to go out and spend from 600 to thousands of dollars when you can do it with a few simple brackets and some parts from your hardware store.

Sorry for the rant, I've just been researching this alot and there aren't that many resources, it seems as if you have to be a member of some exclusive club to be privy to such info even though its just basic stuff, hopefully once I get this out other will be able to benefit from it and I can help put an end to all the childish BS.

I'm done now :D

I went out into my back garden today to see what I could find. I didn't get many good shots but here's a few I thought were worth uploading along with one of some pins which taken as I was moving out of my Uni halls;

Wow Mog, nice shots!

C_F, those are two very nice shots you've got there! What's the insect in the 2nd one, a dragonfly?

Wow, Mog and C_F. Those shots are beautiful. :eek:

What kind of cameras are both of you using?

Thankyou. I'm using a Nikon D50, no idea what C_F is using, I think it might be a non digital judging by the lack of EXIF data 👍

I would love to get myself a sweet camera. I am very interested in photography.
I used to have a sweet little Canon.

Are there any cameras you guys would recommend?

Gotta say again, love those shots Mog and C_F. The first from each of you are stunning. 👍

Yeah, my recent shots have been non-digital. I thought it was a Asahi Spotmatic, but it's a Spotmatic II.

Have a 28mm, 55mm, 135mm and 400mm lenses. The first three are Super Takumar. The 400 mm is a NPS (Anyone have any history on that brand?)

Just a few shots of water in a pink/red bowl. Used a little photoshop for curves, levels and obviously for some of the duotones. Flash caused the reflections.
Shot with an Panasonic FZ5. Sorry if they're a bit large.

I want to go take pictures.

Gas it too dang expensive to get anywhere really awesome, though there is this cool old church my parents just bought.. I'll have to try and get some pictures.

I went to my nan's today to take a look at a camera she'd had in a box in her wardrobe since 1994! I wasn't sure what to expect but this is what I got;

A Polaroid 'Vision', basically the same as the Activa. It's actually an SLR, but only when the front is flipped up!

I was looking forward to using it but the film it takes (Polaroid 95) is impossible to find, so I might just get rid of it, unless anyone here has a suggestion on what I could do with it? Here's some more photos of the 'beast'. :lol:

It seems a shame to get rid of it because before I got my hands on it it had never even been touched!

New location, some construction workers forgot the gate open so I strolled in and took a few shots, I figure this would be better for a lifted truck, but I tossed the Z in there instead for some contrast :D

Sorry to dig up an old thread... Anyway, here's a test shot with my new camera (Nikon S10). It's not the best but a good compromise for a camera.

Great Shots ITR, I KNow how hard fireworks are to shoot, having failed at it myself. Some new more summery shots from me.

and one more

ok so, being the noob that I am, I never really ever bothered to use the curves tool in photoshop, or the mask, or even the patch tool, all I've pretty much ever used is brushes, burn tool, clone stamp, and hue/saturation/contrast filters etc.

needless to say I'm an idiot :dunce: as curves are one of the coolest tools around :D found a tutorial online explaining it and decided to give it a try with the image they provided and I like the result. It kinda makes me wonder what other things I'm neglecting... the pen tool has to be one of them...

anyway, result:
