I am a PE teacher...not the throw the ball out and watch you play kind , but the kind that the lazy kids hate because i make them get off their butts.lol.

In decent shape right now despite december being my off/recovery month. I added about 15-20 pounds after my Division 1 college basketball career in which i was 175ish and ran the forty in 4.3. Back in August while timing some students in the 40, I got challenged by some of the "hotshots"..after a few at 3/4 speed i ran one all out...came out to a 4.7.

I start back on my fitness program tomorrow which includes doing the same class warm up routine involving pushups, abs etc...with each class. Then after work The run/walk some of the massive hilly streets we have here. Not big into the weights any more, though i do maintain my strength from other exercises.

Also still play bball with high school gets at the local bball park.

When I was 21 I weighed 190 and pretty solidly built, but that was before marriage and before kids. I was playing ball about 4 hours a day, going to the gym regularly, and was taking all kinds of supplements (Xenadrine, Hydroxycut, Stacker 2.) In the 3 years after marriage I put on 50 or 60 lbs and stopped doing any kind of physical activity whatsoever.

About 3 months ago, I was bowling with my son and after the second game of freakin BOWLING I was winded! I went home and weighed myself and tipped the scales at an all time high/low of 252 lbs. Since then, Ive been watching what I eat and have been going to the gym. Ive lost 30 lbs so far and thats with ZERO cardio whatsoever. I dont do cardio because I cant (smoker). But Im working on kickin the habit and getting some cardio into my workouts so I can drop another 20. If I get down to about 200-205 Ill be pretty happy.

Btw that P90x is no joke, itll kick your arse if you arent ready for it.

Been in shape my whole life. Was only 115 throughout high school, but was really strong for my weight. When I've been sitting and playing gt5 for hours (especially endurance races) I throw up the perfect pull up in the doorway and bust out some pull ups. My friend and I do the butte here a few times a week, but we don't take the trail that circles around it we go straight up the side. Its a great workout

I am relatively lean, but I lack stamina. I figure I have got about 10 pounds to loose and about 20 pounds of muscle to gain.

- Age : 22
- Height : 6'1
- Weight: 185
- Current physical condition : Average, need to build muscle more than anything.
- What are you doing to train/physical goals? : A lot of running and weight lifting

Went to the track a couple of blocks away and ran intervals with my room mate today...it was terrible. Definitely have some work to do, lol.

Interval training is straight painful. I have memories of hill repeats and mile repeats burned in my head from running XC in high school..

Its in the genes Iam affraid. Both my mom and dads family are all skinny. Iam sure when I get old it'll catch up to me big time since I eat all of the time. I've even drank weight gainers, protein bars, and still didnt gain any.
The weird thing is in middle school I was what you would call fluffy.

Thanks, I couldnt do the Audi thing since I wasnt 21 until 8 days after the event. Ill be in Orlando tho.:sly:

LOL, I was just running my mouth man. If you ever want to put on some weight come over to Wisconsin, we'll feed you some cheese, bacon, and beer. The weight will just happen :)

The beer is the key ingredient lol. I'm closer to my goal weight because of it, but it's not muscle mass that's for sure :(

- 145lbs, average build. I keep a strict diet of the 4 food groups: pizza, burritos, burgers, and cereal.
- haven't done physical activity since elementary school. I started "couch to 5k" early December, and on alternate days have been doing push-ups, sit-ups, pull-ups, and chin-ups. Trying not to have to get a gym membership but it's getting freakin' cold in New York

Beer is my arch nemesis in the quest for abs, but I won't give it up ;).

I maintained fairly constant fitness between 22 and 25 because when I graduated from CU Boulder I stopped engaging in 3 hours of physical activity per day, but I reduced my weekly beer intake by about 1 gallon/week - the two of which basically cancelled each other out.

Awesome I get to reign in as the HEAVY weight of the group when I make it to the finals. LOL

Didnt really do sports but golf with full pack walking the course never karting. I have been a valet and do occasional free running but since getting a desk job the past 1 1/2 years doesnt help me at all. But Im currently busting my ass with my golds gym membership to get me to 225 by march. If I meet my goal ill be 194lbs of lean muscle since im currently 182lb of muscle.

Be happy it is in the genes. At 22 I was an "unmanly" 150lbs. Ate anything and everything, never gained weight - could get back up to fitness after a very short time. fast forward 20 years and I have to work hard to stay at 185lb - and can easily slip back to 230+lbs without even trying. It takes careful eating and hardwork - so enjoy those "genes" while you still can ;)

Hmph. When I was 16 years old I hit 5' 9" tall, weighed 125 pounds, then stopped growing. Fast-forward 30 years and I'm still 5' 9" and still weigh 125 pounds. I eat like a pig and do almost zero exercise. My wife hates that.

There's really no way for me to drive well enough to get to the later rounds, but I'm having a blast trying.

My body got away from me...I am not gonna lie haha I told myself if I can make it into the top 100 nationally by the end of today I will put myself on a serious diet/workout plan.

I used to workout hours a day, but that was years ago, I have gotten lazy and video games don't help haha

I am not as fast as the top guys for time attack, but I don't know what is in store for the next few rounds so anything can happen, if by the fluke chance I pull out a miracle to make it to Orlando, I would like to be in better shape. :)

My confidence comes from making it to the later rounds so we actually have real racing side by side. That's where I thrive and that's where the REAL competition will begin. So Ive already started my work regimen :P Not looking forward to the protein shakes though bleh lol

So in the later rounds we are using racecraft? Not time trials?

That changes everything. :)

I know for sure the final round is race craft. Not sure about round 2 and 3 though. Would be nice if by round 3 its actual racing.

I am not worried about real cars haha I am worried about the virtual side, I am still "learning" how to virtually translate everything to the car. I hope we can get some virtual races, because on tracks like Rome I am within striking distance of the leaders if we were in an actual race, but time trials I am a few tenths* back.

Ok so the average weight of the 7 people who have posted so far is 156 lbs. Like WTF?! I thought gamers were supposed to be obese and out of shape! Im 222 lbs, you guys are gonna smoke me in the go-kart race. Im gonna look like Donkey Kong out there. Maybe they'll give me some banana peels and green shells to help me keep up. =D

I am big framed. Not exactly the best set up for real racing where weight and size matters. I can maybe get down to 195, but I haven't been there since college.

I currently have a bum ankle, but I usually play beach volleyball 3-4 times a week. I am not much of a gym rat though. Always down for anything outdoors. Tennis, basketball, golf, raquetball, sailing, etc..

So I have been to the gym almost every day since Dec 1. I have taken 5 days off in that span. The problem? I have gained 5 pounds since the beginning. WTF! I have even regulated my intake to 2000 calories and I have only gone over that 3 times during the span.

I am hoping that it's just the muscle being added and the fat not burning off yet. I am sure it will begin to happen shortly but this is discouraging.

My endurance has gone up significantly, I can stay on the eliptical for 90 minutes at a time versus only 20 minutes when I started. I am starting to feel better and my lifts are less embarassing.

It's probably water weight. Depending on your diet and fluid intake during the day, it's not uncommon to fluctuate by +/- a few pounds. Nice work cranking out that kind of time on the elliptical - just make sure you get enough rest and nutrients because workouts over 45-60 minutes can really drain your body.

I'm drinking around 4-6 bottles of water a day plus 1/2 bottle of OJ or Promagranate juice (tropicana 50 cal stuff). I seem to be thirsty all the time now. I have an after work out snack of some chocolate milk and some unsalted almonds.

That'll do it - you are probably just more hydrated, hence the extra weight (everyone knows that hockey goalies can shed 7-8lbs during a playoff game just from water weight). I bet you are probably neutral overall - +2 or 3 lbs of muscle -2 or 3 lbs of fat:tup:👍.

I assume you are getting your flexibility back - closer to goalie shape?

Getting some of it back. I can touch my toes again! My fiance's cousin, a former NCAA gymnast comes over once a week and gives me exercises to do to get back into shape. I also go to the side of the gym and do countless "goalie" up downs. Going down to butterfly then back to stand up.

Crap, I need to get in shape; You guys are gonna make me look like a complete ass if I end up at Silverstone. I vote everyone just be lazy, then we'll all be on the same level and I won't be the only guy puking in the bushes with a camera crew filming every bit.

Jokes aside, if there is anyone taking this damn serious living in or around Chicago or Indiana, I would be all for getting a group of us together for an endurance karting event or something at one of the quality indoor places around. Team Endurance and Single Driver Endurance League
