Did he ever drive a truck?

Seriously, if The Orange One said it this section would be lit up right now.

And what's up with the push notifications prompt?

Said what?

I've no idea what the context of your image is.

Biden was at a Mack truck plant yesterday and claimed he used to drive an 18 wheeler.
And one assumes that he did, in fact, not do that?

Either way, thanks for the clarification. This isn't something that seems to have been all that widely circulated, and I definitely couldn't pick it up from the image shown which seemed to suggest something about texting and driving.

"I used to drive an 18-wheeler, man," Biden said on Wednesday in a video posted to Twitter. "I got to."

He got to, is apparently the claim.

I'm not sure an 18 wheeler technically requires a special license. My understanding of special licenses are that they're required for weight, and possibly for number of passengers, on public roads. Biden's statement could be correct for a private road, or for something that didn't exceed the weight threshold, even without a special license.

I still don't know what this is referencing, mate. You're giving me a broad statement.

They do, it's called a CDL...
Seriously... Shame CNN didn't show it... Y'all might've known...

Okay, this is just legitimately funny. I only post it here because a prominent political figure figures prominently in it, though it would be funny no matter to whom it happened. I don't endorse the poster's remarks. I don't feel any particular way about them at all. Just watch the clip.

That appears to have been introduced in 1992, by which time Joe Biden was already 93 years old. I don't know what preceded it or what the timeframe of the claim is, but perhaps it wasn't required back whenever it was he said he did it.

Although that's available on cable and satellite TV over here, that's not especially common, and I wouldn't have thought CNN was a particularly well-watched channel. Personally, as I am legally prevented from watching live/broadcast television of any kind, I wouldn't have seen it even if it had been shown on CNN.

A little bit of initial context wouldn't have gone amiss. This is, after all, an international forum and it isn't the America thread.

For reference, here's what I pulled up for CDLs.

1.2 Drivers Who Must Obtain a CDL

A CDL must be obtained by the driver of any of the following vehicles:

  • Any combination of vehicles with a gross combined weight rating (GCWR) of 26,001 or more pounds, providing the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of the vehicle being towed is in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any single vehicle with a GVWR of 26,001 or more pounds, or any such vehicle towing another not in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any vehicle, regardless of size, designed to transport 16 or more persons, including the driver.
  • Any vehicle required by federal regulations to be placarded while transporting hazardous materials.

So... as I said previously, a driver operating the vehicle on a private road, or one with less than the threshold weight, or one which less than the threshold number of passengers. Sure looks like I was completely correct.

In other words, another one of those pesky regulations that conservatives hate.

Marco Rubio mocked Def. Sec. Austin for being vaccinated but wearing a combination of a mask and a face shield while visiting the Philippines.

Dave Brown of Politico informed Rubio that the Philippines mandated this combination.

Then, thinking he had a great gotcha against Austin, a Biden cabinet appointee, Rubio posted an image package of the officer not wearing the combination while abroad.

This would be a gotcha if not for the fact that the package included pictures of Austin's visit to Vietnam and Singapore. Indeed, the flags of these two countries appear in pictures Rubio included.
