The amazing thing is that this pales in comparison to republican nutbaggery. I mean, Matt Gaetz right? Just for starters. Regardless, it's not going well for Cuomo, nor should it. Something tells me he's not going to get a free pass like those people waiving guns did.

Calling out those Democrats who are scumbags seems to at least enjoy some bipartisan support, unlike calling out Republicans.
 
Just talking about the tea party group, white supremists, etc taking it up and trying to make it theirs.
I thought it was something like that, but I also considered you didn't like the parodies except for some like the example you gave.

There was, actually. Most of it seemed to pick up in the 1980s when seatbelts became mandatory for new cars sold in the U.S., with similar arguments being made by the anti-mask crowd. Some manufacturers also argued against seatbelt regulation because they felt it would compromise airbag development.

I wonder whether there was a pushback against wearing condoms during the AIDS epidemic.
