That's not fair to Slimer.

Whoever screenshotted these idiots missed the ratio.

This, almost more than anything else, convinces me that we have a lot of simpletons on the far right. They just get tricked so damned easily. How hard is it to realize that the name people put on their political campaigns is not always what they actually stand for? How hard is it to realize that the Democratic People's Republic of North Korea is not a people's republic, or democratic? How hard is it to realize that the People's Republic of China is not a people's republic, and that the Chinese Communist Party is not communist? Are these the same people that thought cigarettes were healthy?

How hard is it to realize that the guy who hugs an American flag doesn't like America?

Although Christmas has occupied November since 1821, many people have criticised Christmas' thinly-veiled tactics to illegally occupy October and September too; the Halloween Front bravely holds its own year in, year out.

Meanwhile, in my area, back to school is starting to attack 4th of July and move into late June. It already holds post-4th until the first week of September.

^I'm surprised it hasn't been annexed by Poppy Season.

🤔

Speaking of Black Friday(s), it was introduced not too long ago here in South Africa, but now, one of the largest retailers in the country is trying to make it a month-long affair...

We now have Black Friday here. Lasts about 2 weeks.
Slovakia has also been suckered into "Blek Frajdey". All it means is that prices get jacked up on steroids now so that in three weeks all the shops can slap enormous "80% Off" stickers on all the overstocked tat they can't sell.

It's so transparent and people fall for it. It's one of the most hateable US exports to me.

That's not really what we do here. I mean sure, I'm sure some people do that, but largely the big black friday merch is stuff like TVs and other electronics which usually hit year-long lows for black friday. In fact, in the TV market, the black friday price dip tends to get referenced pretty hard in predicting the next year's black friday price.

No. Well, maybe way up North. I think Canada has it.

I don't think Dec 26th is a national public holiday in the US?

p78
I think that's a UK (Commonwealth) only bank holiday

edit

wikipedia tells me

In parts of Europe, such as Bulgaria, Catalonia,[2][3] Czechia, Germany, Hungary, the Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Slovakia[4] and Scandinavia, 26 December is celebrated as a second Christmas Day.[5]
Ok cool, thanks.

I was kinda just thinking out loud, black friday is creeping in down here and while I have absolutely zero qualms with getting on board with other cultures and nations ways of thinking, I can't help to reason that we really don't need it as we have the boxing Day sales which are very similar.

I suppose the the retail giants have other ideas though.
