People don't seem to easy on other people having different opinions as themselves.
How dare I point out a personal point of critique?
It's just an odd thing to complain about in a racing sim maybe if it were an arcade title were the game was all about the graphics rather than gameplay i could see your point.

Those that have a dislike to the Forza series banged on about trees constantly when Forza 5 got released...I just dont get it.

You did. Me and others did. So we can move on now, can we?

I saw something in a game. You and others saw somebody with a different opinion which HAD to be made ridiculous. That's a difference.

It's a racing sim, but it's presented as being the best looking one out there (which it totally is).
And the Photomode is a big part of the game as well. I think this is a point where I think it could look even better. And it's not just a small detail, its all around each track. And yes, I obviously understand the pros and cons. I'm a 3d modeler myself.

And you can't compare an open world game where you can run around the trees with a racing sim. They have different approaches, you also can't compare the interior of the GTA5 cars with those in pcars. But yes, @blowfishrulez is right, let's end this discussion here.

True, I was just giving an example that there are other ways to make a tree besides crossplanes and fully 3d modeled ones. But yeah...let's.

I don't know why anyone didn't point out that there are also 3D trees in the game, anyway...

From what I've seen, I consider PCARS to be very reasonable in terms of off-track details. In Forza Motorsport 4 you could see empty voids, hideously simplistic terrain geometry, or trees floating in the distant sky (Fujimi Kaido) without even pausing the game, sometimes without even moving the camera with the right stick.

Sorry I have to come back to trees one more time. If someone want a tree or rain simulator: go for DC! It's a beauty at 30fps!

All I want is proper racing. Don't care much about trees! It's like people complaining about visual damage. If you are a good driver, or want to become one, you will never see huge visual damage.
Edit: Your focus should be on the track! And if you're into photo mode, then the focus is still on track or at the car. If you want scenery go get Afrika for playstation. If thats not enough, go get a real camera and hit the woods!! Just my 2 cents.

And gt scenery is good for me. Look at nordschleife. It's fine. Sure, if you drive a standard Honda civic around that track you have time to watch the trees. I ain't. ;)

Important things for me: feel of the car, track is accurate! Simple is that.

You want trees? Come to Canada, bring your camera and I'll show you a million. Its a "video game folks" who gives a rats arse about what's outside of what I want to "drive on". Yes I said drive, hence the word Project CARS not Project trees, grass, guardrails, etc. Who the hell takes pictures of polygon trees? You need to get out more.

I don't give a 🤬 about the trees. Unless you are parking on the side of the track, you are not going to notice them.

Super Chatty Online Race from the WMD Online Testing Focus Group. You might see/hear some GTP regulars in there :D

MP racing has really improved a lot in the last month or so. Close racing is possible, weather and damage syncing issues seem to be sorted out. My favorite feature is join-in-progress qualification. You can set it to like 15 minutes and gradually fill your lobby up, without having to wait for everyone to arrive.

I'm interested, how was close racing not possible? Some kind of issue with collision detection or lag etc etc? For me personally this is a little worrying as online is mostly where I spend my time on these games.

Well, like I said, it's possible. So it's working well. Lag/ collision detection can make it difficult.

Of course, sorry. I didn't explain myself well.

What I was wondering is why close racing was not possible in the past? Or maybe I misunderstood your comment to begin with.

:)

Yeah, the parameters needed tuning to make it better. There are some prediction parameters that are used, since you do have certain lag in the real world, so the car positions are interpolated and predicted, until the next update is possible.

To Quote cannonball run " Those trees He ran right over those trees" So pumped after watching these last couple of vids. Love that you can run practice laps while waiting for the lobbie to fill. Havn't seen that since Race pro on xbox360....

That's why I like racing online more than playing other types of games online. By utilizing that sort of predictive programming, racing is well-suited to the inexorable limitations of getting computers to talk to each other over hundreds or thousands of miles. At the best of times the lag is nearly imperceptible to a degree that other game genres will never quite be able to match. :)

This pic comes to mind, which DrJustice recently posted.

Are you the guy who asked if they could save this for future use? I saw that and wondered when it'd reappear. I just didn't think it'd be this soon and in this apt an argument.

I audibly laughed, 10/10.
