i really don't mind erratic AI behaviour, i only hope that the difficulty can be put on any value and you'd get similar performance out of them regardless of track or car class. don't want to be adjusting the slider every time i choose a different car/track combo if it can be helped.

I don't know what build this is, but I think those crashes when trying to overtake the AI have more to do with the player not giving the AI room or just cutting across the track and expecting the AI not to be there....and the sun is just part or real life...get on with that...too much whining...

yes i just saw the AI closing the door on him but he wasnt in the right place for an overtake anyway. i thought it looked fine. besides, i don't want overtaking to be too easy, a little grief is fine.

Yep the car was infront of him at the start so if anything he rammed the AI car..yet he's moaning about the AI ramming him 👎

Could you elaborate please saying there so much wrong doesn't help, so if you could give us the details please. We can then double check if the 'wrong' is a minor bug or a misconception.

I exaggerated the "so much" but the sound is very strange and the physics look off at some points, especially that jump in the beginning.

Apart from the big air - the landing of which probably would have destroyed the suspension and the occassional clipping of the rear wheels through the body work, it looked pretty good to me.

Well... I agree. So many little bugs, but the biggest issue was those "moving cam" that makes cars sound weird. I'm not sure why the car's behaviour was so weird on the first jump, usually, it looks better than that.

I exaggerated the "so much" but the sound is very strange and the physics look off at some points, especially that jump in the beginning.

The sound is a little warbly at points, if damage is off you can fly 5000 feet without a problem, and physics can only be evaluated once you know what driver aids are on.

Look at it another way. Imagine that instead of the AI, it's you in the car at the front, and that you are racing online against the video uploader.

As the guy at the front, how would you react if someone was diving on the inside from so far behind, barging in?

All his moves are considered inappropriate by the OLR.

Two things here:

1. AI needs to be less aggressive overall. SMS is aware of that and it is just a snapshot of a WiP AI under heavy tinkering. It has been better in the past and will be better on release.
2. This guy reminds me of some iRacers, always dive bombing and not able to hold a single line and then blaming their constant wrecking on other players.

I only watched the first lap (found his complaining a bit annoying tbqh) and I didn't see anything wrong with the AI at all. He left absolutely no room for the AI at Les Combes, then made a terrible divebomb at La Source, was well wide of the apex and on both occasions blamed it on poor AI. Not a chance!

I do have a question about the effect of the difficulty level though - does changing the % effect only their speed, or their intelligence and behaviour as well?

But besides all that, Spa looks fantastic and it seems like the M1 drives like a dream!

I'm not talking about the crash in the next corner here.

I actually don't believe the AI car makes a mistake at all - I believe he was forced off the track by the player, as he didn't leave enough room. They enter the right hand turn side by side, but he goes straight for the apex on the left hander, leaving no room for the car next to him that certainly isn't going to just disappear!

Pay attention to the TV footage in the top right (I know it's small, but you can still see the important stuff) - It seems to me like the two cars actually make side to side contact as the player turns into the corner. From the onboard shot, there is a very very small twitch from the player car in the mid-corner part, I think this is the contact.

The way I see it, he's guilty of the very thing he's complaining about while the AI has actually behaved in a very believable and lifelike fashion, without doing anything unsportsmanlike or making any mistakes. In fact, I find it very encouraging to see!

Alright then. He forced the AI to go off track. But as azubi said, it's not polite to come back to track that way. Ok it's minor and I don't want to take this little scene to say the AI is crap. Let's just end it here. Again, I'm not into racing like you guys.

Anyway... You won't see me online ramming someone because he forced me to go off track. I will be angry for a second and make you aware of that by chat but that's all.

You just need to drive with the right people. When we accidently push each other off track, we usually wait and give the position back. But communication via headset is really helpful online. I only had 1 accident in the last 20h of online racing
