And you can still use them, its not like all those cars sound entirely wrong, like say... Vacuum cleaners or something. :D

I have forwarded your initial post in the audio section of WMD, but dont expect much from it. I ve pointed out the A45 and the Megane sounding almost identical months ago already.
I don't mind if they are updated after release, but I feel if they do stay as they are it is letting the quality of the game down, and the experience also. It's not representative of PCARS' otherwise outstanding quality. The reason I'm moaning so much about this is because all the sounds for the other cars are awesome.

I would have to argue as well that the radical and gt40 samples are definitely "entirely" wrong :P

I agree, shame this area get's neglected whilst all the other parts get the perfection treatment (physics, graphics, gameplay).

Well, neglected is a bit strong, isnt it? While not perfect, its not as if sounds are schmoot across the board. Please keep in mind that all departments have their certain (probably rather tight) budget, so maybe the audio guys just had to make some short cuts to keep within that.
It's a bit harsh, but 'neglected' is the right word if you compare it to how much care and effort was given to the other aspects of PCARS. They didn't make short cuts for the physics or graphics but tried making those into 'sistine chapels' for the genre (or that's what i hope), so the sounds will feel a tad out of place in comparison.

But hey i'm sure many come straight from GT when they purchase PCARS, so for them realish sounding engines will be a revelation in any case :D

They didn't make short cuts for the physics or graphics ...
Sorry, but you just seem to have no idea what cuts were (unfortunately) made in those areas... lets hope they can make it into the game after release in a patch or DLC because they were so damn worth it :guilty: Not going into details here, but expect maximum efford (geven the targets FLX mentioned) of SMS in ALL areas. Everything else just dont do them justice really...

Of course not, i'm not a WMD member. All i know is the graphics and physics are going to be top notch (supposedly), so why do the sounds have to be average in comparison? This is my point.

Guess in PCARS 2 they will up their game in that compartment too. I'd like something that equals R3R when that happens.

LOL! They aren't average in any way.... when you'll first jump into the car, I bet you cant prevent a grin. YT videos are crap really, they're! pCARS dont want to copy YT videos (or anything else that was recorded with a crap camcorder mic. So as long as you havent driven the (e.g.) P1 yourself, your judgement of how the car should sound like is not that relevant

Will the sound be as good on ps4?
Just checking...if it is then im happy and if not then i buy the pc version ☺️

Depends on if you have a proper sound system installed or just playing through the 30W internal speaker of your <3mm thick TV :D Cant approve it, but why would the audio differ through plattforms?

One thing that disturbs me is handmovement in the game. Its so strange like when changing gear its like it grasps air. And turning wheel and it lets go of the wheel like a sunday driver...Just a detail that just feels strange. Guess when main parts look great i notice stuff that is not so..but maybe its just me.

And your answer is a question?

The answer is the same as always, there is no difference between console and pc version in the sound department, except that your race engineer will talk to you through the ps4 controller speaker.

I'll be holding the P1 sound of AC as a benchmark

Funny, this has to be the most unconvincing, stale, flat and wrong sound of the whole Dream Pack DLC. It sounds like if they really used a crappy GO PRO vid from YT as their source material. I have a High End HT System and can assure you that the AC (P1) sounds are not even in the same ballpark with what the car or PCars sounds like. Every expert in this field will tell you the same. In the end it really is a matter of taste, just like music. There are millions out there praising Justin Biber as the best musician ever, but nobody of knowledge will say this music has any quality or craftsmenship.

It's bad quality, but you can hear the correct sound is there. I think that's what ac's problem with sound is, the fact it sounds like a recording.

Sounds exactly the same as this:

Whilst PCARS version doesn't even come close:

Something i have just noticed from this Team VVV video from the 27th March is Alan stated at the 4:45 minute mark that within the next week more videos were to be on his channel.... But up to now nothing nearly 2 weeks later. Maybe SMS have told Team VVV to wait as a release date announcement, and then build-up will start.... Here's hoping!

Yup, that media recording sounds like it is recorded in mono. AC sounds like it simulates stereo from a mono sample. Project CARS sounds like it uses samples from multiple recording points and mixes these to create a more accurate sound image.

Sorry, but a handycam of a Youtube car channel reporter is not a good representation of reality. I am sure many of you might have recorded your own voice and played it back, only to have wondered "is that really my voice... sounds nothing like it". This shows in itself that recording pure sound isnt as simple as grabby a handycam and revving an engine. Let alone compressing that sound via youtube on top of it.
