Honestly, some people in this thread are start to sound just like that guy who says GT sounds awesome and if it doesn't for you is because you don't have a 10 thousand dollars worth of sound boxes.

pCARS is shaping up to be a benchmark, a true turning point in racing games. I'm emotionally invested in it and there are people here who feel the same. But that doesn't mean the game doesn't have its small, but noticeable, shortcomings, mainly in the sound department.

On the other hand, there are people who make it sound like pcars is on a level with Gt for some cars. But it is a good sign that we are discussing mostly "small" issues like a few car sounds are off or one AI didn't drive correct. This is grumping on a high level. And that is always a sign that the game is very good overall :)

There is a difference though between what you get on Youtube and what you'll hear from the game directly if you have a decent setup. Youtube is only stereo sound for example and it's compressed and lacks dynamic range. So while the samples may be off as well, cars will sound better at home, in game, than they do on YT.
Better yes, correct no as that is inherent to which samples that were used. If they aren't right nothing can correct that.

Again the quality excuse. I understand your point (and the ones of the others), but the quality of recorded youtube videos or handycam recordings isn't that bad that it significantly alters how it would sound on your own stereo.

If a sample is wrong AKA does not sound like the real thing, even playback on a 1000€ Bang & Olufsen sound system isn't going to make it right.
Its not a quality excuse. At no point did i mention quality. Different mic design produce very different acoustic characteristics. To go into the details about mic tech and placement would be well beyond the scope of this thread and yes, they are that bad and they will significantly alter what you hear regardless of your stereo quality. Which by the way i also did not point out as a significant factor. But in any case this is not an audio critique thread, its a video sharing thread. Back on track, lets see some more footage.

yeah it's like a back seat driver/ go pro view. good visibility. I'll probably try it out for a bit while I'm tinkering with the various settings

First thing I got reminded when I saw that camera angle was a rally game I used to play (I think it was one of the Colin McRae Rally games, just can't remember which one)

If I rebember correctly, someone aks to report if we saw something odd, so,
tires of the Ford Scort going through the rumble strips...

Well that was very interesting. Not the best driving skill I've seen yet smashing through the start.
