I (and others) pushed as much as I can to remove the down scaling from lower tier series to no avail. I think once the public part of the forums opens up and lots more people complain, they will patch in the option to remove it. Hopefully you guys will register and let your voice be heard.
From which tier onwards is 100% difficulty really 100% difficulty?

As I understand it, GT3 and above. However, the "local" GT events will have scaling. Only once you get to the "European/World" events, they won't have down scaling. In case of FA, there is only world championship, so no scaling.

That's kind of disappointing as I was hoping to be pushed in every discipline , the clio's look challenging from Dookies video and they are lower tier so maybe there is still hope

Well guys I can officially confirm that I have (accidentally) ended chilli steaks career series. This is because I sort of had an argument with him to the point were I told him to update his windows because his AI was not up to date. He did this and is now locked out of career until the final build...

Sucks for him, but better in the long run as far as his videos go. He didn't need to be saying that his build was the gold build when it wasn't anyways.

Congrats, less spoiler then 👍 Btw Im still able start a new career... dunno what membership he is (if he even is..) but I cant remember a dev saying that the career will be locked for lower tiers. All I know is, that Juniors and Team Members wont be able to play the game until release from now on.

I noticed only today with Dookie's Donington Clio race that the cars were much faster thru some corners, for example the first corner Redgate, and also thru the Old Hairpin (The right hander at the bottom of the hill), where as Chilli's video from 2 or 3 days ago of the Ginettas at Donington, they were so slow round those corners despite him claiming the AI was 100% difficulty! Me thinks he was telling lies too!! He's been using an older build for his videos, that's why the AI are a bit erratic in his races too, which he then blames the AI as they are not finalized!

It was clear in Chillie's videos that he was racing at 100%. But the main difference is (besides maybe the build) that Dookie is not doing career races, while Chilli is.

Yes but i was referring to the speed of the AI thru certain corners and the difference between them. I don't think there is a difference in AI speed in career or a one off race!!

It's confirmed that in the career, the AI will only be running on full difficulty in the higher tiers. So for example in Formula Rookie, the AI will be slower in career mode than in a single race with the same difficulty setting.

Incomprehensible decision if you ask me, but yeah...

Uh, WTF, that makes no sense? So basically if I were to want to judge where I could set the AI level in career by trying out quick races in certain cars it would be pointless? What kind of f'd up decision was that?

Ah, there is slightly. In the Clios, Donnington is the first meeting of the season where the AI drivers are not at their fastest. As the season progresses, they get faster and faster, where the Ginetta G40s are at Donnington in the fourth meeting of the season.

Because IRL the very best drivers are right at the top of the tree. You'll find the not quite so quick drivers lower down, and the career mode matches that.

But that's my point @DG_Silva..... The Ginettas should have been faster if it was the 4th meeting of the season, but the Clios were in fact faster despite being 'rusty' in the first race of that championship! Shows even more then that ChilliSteak was using an older build with unfinished AI....

My take on the ai in the lower levels is that it would be like going to your local track and racing your neighbours. Maybe there will be one or two good drivers in the field and the others are so so. As you move up the ranks you will be facing drivers who like yourself have moved beyond the local track so the competition will be tighter. Move up even higher and now you are racing against the elite.

That's not been the case when I've been racing in career mode. I don't know if something was different in the AI paths at the time his build was made.

@Bethany Dawn, you've got it spot on.

Agree with you Bethany... But all this from ChilliSteak saying before that the AI were too slow at Donington, despite being on 100% difficulty, was because he was using an older build. He didn't even drive particularly well to win previous races in the Formula Rookie, and he won buy a big margain...

The big problem with this design is that if someone wants to race only lower tier, it's boring. If you want to always progress to higher tier, that's ok. But since pCARS is all about options I hope we would have the option to disable it. Like I said, devs won't budge for now, hopefully later on if more people ask for it they will patch it in.

good point, but this is a career we're talking about. why would a pro driver just want to race in lower tier events? they'd naturally want to progress up through the ranks. I guess this is what they're going for with the career structure.

I am playing the final "gold" build and I started with the Clio cup at the weekend. Career is not locked.
I could get pole easily and won one main race at Donnington by 27 seconds.
I was disappointed by the lack of challenge with pro handling and no assists. It really did ruin my enjoyment.
I'm now almost done in GT 5 in the Ginetta junior and it's been largely the same story. Pole is almost a certainty and the only reason I'm currently 2nd in the championship with 2 rounds left is due to some mistakes that have cost me points.
I have enjoyed career so far but the difficulty level has seen me load up Assetto Corsa for challenging races.
Haven't tried the likes of GT3 yet though.
