The cockpit view is marvellous.... Are they planning some kind of head tracking in kinect style (or with a webcam on pc) so you can check for example right rear mirror? Not being able to see around properly is what has always kept me in all games from using that view...

You can use TrackIR to do head tracking and the helmet cam will then follow your head movements on a PC, I am not sure about Kinect head tracking for the Xbox One version.

The optimal solution is getting a Oculus Rift, then you can just have complete free view control from within the cockpit, its epic, plenty of videos online!

New video! This time in Imola, and it was epic! Toughest run with the AI yet, and at only 75%. My fastest SOLO lap on this track so far in the Ginetta is a 1.49.xx I can be faster but I haven't put much laptime into it. Epic race! I also put a link to a real onboard video in a Ginetta @ Imola for comparison

The Eiffelwald video has a link to a SLS onboard from the nurburg 24hr which shows how close to the real deal this game gets! I can't wait till the windshields get dirty!

Jep, bit too much for me (especially vertically), but the right direction. The last video you posted at WMD is much better though imho. Could you also post your chase cam vids here, maybe in a new thread dedicated to cameras?

@ everybody here that isnt on WMD: Would be awesome to get some feedback on Timos work on cams since the cams ingame will soon be finalized.

I'm not sure if you think I'm Timo or not. :P Timo is @Timppaq. The video I posted here is my most recent video I posted at WMD, and it's Timo that did the chase cam stuff as well, not me. :)

I might be able to make this happen. With or without AI, weather? Time of Day?

A few timed laps with no other cars on a sunny afternoon would do. :) EDIT: Preferably standard cockpit cam.

This could be what I will do first once I get the game. Either with this car or the CLK-GTR. On a side note, will it be possible to have those two cars race against each other in the final game? Would be epic! A field of about 24 cars, 12 C9s and 12 CLK-GTRs. :D

60 fps McLaren GT3 in the rain at Brands Hatch. Stunning.

The cams in that test video look great to me although it's difficult to say how it is to drive until you drive with that sort of movement. Will there be some configurability of the cockpit cams in game (PC, PS4 etc)? I love the flexibility in GTR2 where you can edit World Movement, Shake, Driver head movement etc.

BMW M3 GTR (GT3) @ Zolder - Starting 23rd and Finishing 9th

The AI is even better in this build, they finally don't single file a turn, they will do 2 or 3 wide if the corner is wide enough which produces awesome fights between the AI and the player. There is a bug in the AI logic for some reason on the long straight at the start/finish they hit the breaks allowing me to easily overtake, if they are outside of the line (2 wide) they go full throttle so just some tweaking needs to happen. I had to turn off full damage, as the cars would loose their wheels at the second chicane, pitting is still not done, so the cars float when they come out of the pits :) Either way, the game is getting better with each release! One more video to go!

Also for some reason even though aids were set to real in this car the ABS wasn't turned on (not sure if that was the case in the real car...), so there was a lot of threshold breaking and it helped me with letting go of the gas and coasting/trail breaking into a corner, on one lap I over shoot the breaking point and I lock the tires up due to pressing the break to hard, couldn't steer just kept skidding forward. Doing that in the high speed corners is like an express lane to the gravel pits :D This video took 87 retry's to get, my poor SSD :P

Id be interested in seeing the work done on different cams, especially the in-car ones.

One question about views - is it possible to map buttons to view left/right while in-car? Its especially important for single screen console users without trackIR / oculus rift / morpheus.

So this was mainly done to test new G-force settings. There is a slider in UI to adjust the overall strength of the effect (here the slider is at 50%), so you can have it either way or totally off. The main change to the "old" one is different relative values for each g-force (x,y,z,)

see in 60fps

Will be in game to be tested soonish..

Yes you can map, up down left and right.

Ill wait till after the update, I literally have one more video left and that covers the GT3 cars :) After that I will do a recording of the Sauber :)
Thanks. :)

Speaking of cameras: the video by Timppaq looks about right to me, the movement is fine. What about the field of view? Will it be adjustable in all versions of the game (console too)? Like, can I move the view all the way up front to the dashboard, for example?

The FOV is adjustable in the PC version, nothing is confirmed in the console version, from what I have read in the past, most games if not all console games didn't have FOV adjustment, dunno if its a console thing or dev decision. Ill let Timo chime in on that maybe he knows better than I.

I haven't heard that the seat adjustments + FOV adjustments would be deleted from consoles so my current take is that they would be in.. but there has not been a word to either confirm or deny this so it's still open I guess. Surely for PC though will be possible. If Sony / MS allows SMS will put them to consoles too I'm sure.
