Yes they are. Race starts was specifically addressed by a change yesterday (may take a few days to make it into a build). The AI is getting steadily more polish as the release draws nearer...
Today's build is huge, those changes are in. We'll see if there is a difference.

You can look at the build notes in the other thread. I think the change DrJustice was referring to is this:

* Attempt to prevent shunting of cars: As most problems occur when multiple cars are close to each other, such as race starts for example, AI become more conservative when detecting more then 3 cars within a 20m radius around them. Added multiple tweakers for the two 2D geometry side feelers and increased the default length fro 50% to 75% of the center feeler length( WMD-4732 )

UK based racing developer Codemasters has been hit with staff layoffs, according to a recent Eurogamer report. It has been reported that 50 jobs are under review, with a 30 day consultation period set to occur with 30 or more of those jobs being cut. Globally around 500 people work for the Southam based developer.

It has been revealed by Eurogamer that designers and artists on the Grid and Dirt team are in the danger zone, with programmers and production staff safe
 
That looks really amazing, I cannot wait to play, What settings are you using? Trying to get an idea if we can expect that quality on a ps4 or if we need a PC for that.
i'd like to know just that too. are all these videos we see from the pc version alone?
 
There are enough pcars PS4 videos out there from some expos last year to know how it will stack up graphically (probably even better since there was more development time sinnce then). Google is your friend.

The carrer mode looks sooo good. Loved the video.

But is really awkward that there's no PCars on PStore for pre-order. Anyone who has Xbox know if the game already is on Xbox Live?

Hope it's not get delayed.

that is correct. i have only been on the gtp PC forum a couple of days and one of the first threads i looked at was this one. having not been through all 63 pages, just the last 10 or so, i noticed that the videos posted didn't seem to (unless i missed it) indicate what platform they were from so i assumed they were all from the pc version.

Awesome stuff.

For my ears, there is just two wrongs about PCars sounds: Doppler effect on replays (it's all over the place, and credits where credits is due, Gran Turismo is the master in this department).

The other thing is the Audi R18 sample. I find it very inaccurate, and although diesel engines aren't all that popular amongst racing fans, I do think that the car deserves better representation.
