Just a heads up really for those buying games off PSN.

Not sure what happened here but I was browsing PSN via PS3 and came across Tactics ogre for PSP. £15.99. Ah a bit much I thought. (That was on Monday).

Anyway. Browsing on Vita shows the Price of £7.99. Needless to say I pulled the trigger ASAP.

Anyone know what's going on here? Seems really odd. If they are on special offer surely it should be the same regardless of Vita/PS3?

Anyhow just a heads up to check across both stores you may get a pleasant surprise.

One other example is rayman being advertised at £29 but actualy it's £20. Huh.

I just ordered mine, supposed to come on the 7th. I'm pumped, I've heard nothing but good things, from here or otherwise.

Great bit of kit no doubt. I recently pulled the trigger despite the lack lustre E3 IMHO.

As someone who never owned a PSP, that's what swayed me ironically. Currently playing Tactics ogre which is excellent and on offer at£7.99 until the 4th I believe.

One neg I noticed straight out of the box is the speakers. The designers decided the best place for them is under your thumbs.

👎 That seems like a step backwards, considering PSP's had them at the top of the system, or the bottom, depending on the model. But never under the thumbs.

There loud enough no doubt but it's a bit silly.
I mean you could run a slightly lower sound and aid battery life.

That was one thing that puzzled me, the speakers are in a pretty goofy place. However, I suggest picking this up, or something like it...

It feels much, much better in my hands and the speakers are completely unobstructed by my thumbs so I don't have to turn the volume up as much. Certainly worth the asking price, in my opinion.

You won't regret it, it's a marvellous piece of hardware, it has some minor flaws but nothing obstructive. The screen when black (like loading screens), has some "patches" in the black, but you never will notice it on normal content even if black.

Hello vita brothers. Quick query.

Transferred all my data to PS3 today. Pretty straight forward.
Anyhow when browsing my PS3 it just says Vita applications. On opening the folder the only info displayed is file size when you press triangle on controller.

I was a bit dissapointed that the games didn't show as individual files or content name.

Being as I haven't tried to recover data from PS3 to vita I imagine the Vitas content manager will decipher all that and give me individual files to recover etc.

Am I right?

When you backup you can only recover the whole thing. You have to use the transfer Vita-Ps3 option for individual files to backup. You cannot transfer Vita game save files for some stupid reason and if you delete the icon you delete the save files.
 
I've been playing a bit of F1 2011 for the Vita and I have to say it is quite fun. Obviously the physics are much more forgiving as the Vita doesn't have analog controls so the throttle and brakes are either 100% on or off, but it still feels nice, the sense of speed is great, and most importantly, it's super fun. The A.I. is pretty poor but I'll be playing this for a while yet.

Are the cars easy to control or do they go wild at even the slightest flick of the analog stick? I've been wanting to grab F1 2011 for the Vita but have been skeptical.

They are pretty easy to control. I've been playing with the all the assists off since the beginning (when you create a profile it gives you the options) and I haven't had an issue at all. In first gear you can get a little wheel spin but it is never really uncontrollable.

I did change the default control scheme though. I use R to accelerate, L to brake, o to shift up, x to shift down as I find it easier that way than the default controls.

Yes. There are no options to back up either the game files or just your save game files. Backup and restore means everything: game files and save files.
 
sorry for the multiple posts. But yes F1 on the Vita is bashed way too hard in the press. It is a good game. Lots of content.

But it does feel like a port of the DS version. The fact that you cannot use the touch screen in the menus is beyond me.

Put the difficulty on Hard. The other levels are way to slow if you have an account on GTplanet.

Still even on Hard you will lap 10 seconds faster on Monaco. That I do consider a bug.

T cam view is awesome. PD could learn something here for a future version of GTVita.

Sound is the big + in this game. For a hendheld game it is just amazing how good it sounds.

But the best racing game: WipeOut 2048

I was talking about putting all games into a folder. Apps into another that type of thing.

No I figured that out. I was wondering if the icons could be merged into one icon and then named. Similar to iPhone.

Basically I could merge all DLC games into a singular icon. Pressing the icon opens it to reveal the icons within.
Nothing major but a nice touch if implemented.
Could very well be done in an update.
 
Since there is no GT Vita yet I consider every other missing thing on the Vita less important.

I agree mate. Seems like 3rd party's are reluctant to commit. Rainbow moon if it sells well on PS3 may get a vita port. Problem is I'm not going to buy it twice. Most Vita owners have a PS3.
Seems as if Vita is in competition with PSN for 3rd party's.
