Ok, if we pass the 64 mark, we better get this to 128, or else Jack will have to think how to solve the situation after any round that leaves us with an odd number.

With 64 we get this done in 6 weeks. Like this:

1st week ends: 32 survivors
2nd week ends: 16 survivors
3rd week ends: 8 survivors
4th week ends: 4 survivors
5th week ends: 2 survivors
6th week: The GRAND FINALE (tickets for sale at "Jack's Online" :D )

With 128 participants, you just add one week. With any other number, it's up to Jack to solve how to deal with odd numbers.

Haha, ok, I read the first page again! LOL I guess the excitment is getting to me:crazy:

Ok, I will ask my question again, when do we know what car and track we going t use, becuase I want to get pracitising so that I am pulling consistant times close to my ability.

I had a go at Suzuka Pro 550 event today, used an Intergra, firslt I used R1's and a bit extra power., came last!! I am not so confident about this event now!! I then decided to have a little less power beleiving that the extra grip on Suzuka's curves would net me faster lap times, and chose R2's...LAST again!!

I found that the R2's grip overwhelmed the Intergra's chassis, and the car was pitching allot, and eventually understeering so now I thought I better have a fiddle with the suspension. I firmed things up a bit, and took the ride height allot lower, now the car was really sharp. I mixed it up well and was 3rd out of 9 competitors, and pulled some nice laptimes BEFORE CRASHING AGAIN AND COMING LAST.

Consistency is the key :)

It will. About 10 friends of mine registed at GTPlanet in the past 24 hours just for this race, and they re all pretty damn fast:tup: Im thinking this will be an Hepic Race like never seen before! But the rules of the event have to be very very especific in order to be fair to everyone. And i think everyone (almost) is asking them selfs : "How do i know the other guy is not cheating and using better tyres!?" I am. You got yourself a bit of situation Jack! Better ask for help :lol:

true... no setup events needed... like F430/N1 or just let people tune, giving them the better setup for the combo... but be patient.. jack will know what to do after the update... no worries.. 👍

Ok. i have a doubt, i´m a member recently and never played this tournaments. When i go online play. the race´s are arrenged by the ps3. how do get in this especific races and adversaries. Thank´s

he MAY buddy,i had the same experience today...but i ended up using a ford focus with r3's in front and r2's in tha back...
won 3 races in a row...now the other drivers were deffenately not the fatsest i ever saw:sly:but with this ford with a good low and hard suspention setup i had some fun for sure...off course on all the straights the others(who where clearly not using as sticky tyres as me...)gained massively on me...but if (and only if!!) i got the ss'es right i could gain massively.....

so,it can be quit interesting this...

man,just realising the online events will change before this championship starts,so maybe this 550 fwd race wont be there at all...aahhhh well ,had a nice time...:lol:

With work, and GF, I just don't have the time like I use too to play GT, not to mention myflatmates hogging my 42inch Phillips, I gotta take it to my room, but won't get his XBOX time! (He needs to get himself a TV fast)

I did also have a 1 on 1 with a Focus on the same event, I drove quite well, and gained on him through 2 particular corners, but he had me on the multiple S's. He stayed consistantly about 10 car lenths infront, but He eventually crashed which meant I could over take him and once I did, he just stuck to my tail, and then overtook me on the last lap. He could have overtaken me at any point, but was playing with me! Arggh!!

This whole idea of racing people online has been something I have been waiting for for a long time. Back in the day I was a complete feind at the GT series and remember my Grand Valley time on GT1 not being beaten for sometime. I was allot better than I am now, tho still, give me a car and some track time, and I will get all Freaky Geeky, I will lap it for ever, and then fiddle with the car to refine it until perfection Although I had my ass handed to me today several times, once I get back into my stride I am sure I can be competitve with some here. Hardest thing is tho, is racing at the limit without contact, that is tough!

You must agree to an exact time to race (to the second). i.e. 18:33.00 GMT. When you have chosen the online event and loaded up the track, from the menu (which has Start, Free Run, Quick Tune, etc.) all players can use the in-game clock to start the game at exactly the same time.

How you organise the time and date of a race with your opponent(s) is up to you. If you can, I would recommend using GT Planet's Live Racing Chat - see here: https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=111320 If for some unforeseen reason you get seperated from your opponent (i.e. the host disconnects), it is really useful to be able to reorganise instantly in the Live Racing Chat room.

Hey guys, not being funny but the 128people rule is a bit far-fetched. In my limited experience of this forum and organised races, a lot of people drop out, dissapear for weeks/months or simply never return to the forum!

Even if we get around 150people there will still be a time when Jack needs to come up with a solution and I think speculation of that should be put off until the next online update, at very least.

An awesome driver list so far though...Very awesome.

From my experience here and running SixAxis Competition, doesnt matter how many racers you have someone will drop out / have another commitment / other issues, so wouldnt be able to race.

Lets keep the names adding up onto the list :)

I have a question, why is it called the "The Race of Champions" when this event has nothing to do with past winners of anything?
