this is the most realistic pic ivé seen evAR , this looks like you are staying right behind the car in tokyo or where ever this is, actually where on the track is this place ?! this is eyegasmic , you should enter the with this by the CCCL comp, i vote 1000% for this

:) thanks a lot nanabu, coming from you (cos I've seen your pics too :sly:) means a great deal. Your most recent one on here is just what this thread needs.
On that subject there are a lot of great shots here , some are even awesome...... BUT very few (probably around 25% or so) I would go as far to say look anything like realistic. Its a shame cos this thread started off so well but people are just throwing in pics with filters and wide angles and vignettes and so on and so on ( I won't pick any out but there are loads ). Someone even commented on one as a piece of art??? Please could others try to stick to the subject. Rant over .. 👍 Oh and the pic size thing too :)

forgot to mention that pic was taken under the flyover before the last bend on to the start / finish straight.

Huh, well I always used to scale my shots down until people started asking for them in original size (for wallpapers and stuff? I guess). Back to making em smaller, I suppose; however, I do like to keep them big enough to show all the little details. Just do the "View Image" thing so you can see them full screen. 👍

Also, whether someone's photo looks realistic or not is somewhat subjective, so I wouldn't go around quietly abasing others' photos and getting worked up over it. Sometimes the filters and wide angles DO make the shots look more realistic.

Anyway, here's a few more pics I took, trying different things but not quite satisfied with any of them... still haven't been able to take a good standard car pic. :irked:

I'm not actually "abrasing" other peoples shots.... only the context within which they are being presented. I understand fully the subjectiveness around the 'realism' of a photo and its down to peoples perception but I can't remember the last time I went outside to see the scenery go all monotone while the cars in the street remained vivid. The post above yours is another example of what the pictures on here tend to look like. Its a great and well executed shot but I think you know where I'm going with this.
It is'nt easy to make a pic look like its not an 'in game' pic and thats all I'm getting at :)

Its only my honest and humble opinion on the subject of this thread and I hope everyone enjoys the photomode and continue posting all the excellent pics 👍

Actually, I think it's impossible to solve the problem. With any thread name, if this thread become popular (as the realistic one), it will tend to be used as a "dump&run" thread.

yeah I know your right... it was more of a 'tongue in cheek' suggestion :) would end up with the real,real.... then the real,real,real, etc etc.
Who knows? these last few posts may get read and understood and we'll be back to the good old days .......... (that was another tongue in cheek remark BTW :sly:).
