The Rolex Sports Car Series /Help Plan Season 2!/

Based on tonight's race, I'd keep to myself if I was you. And who did you bring in? W1nner didn't show up, carnby said he was only racing Daytona and isn't racing anymore.

What did I do and ya I did bring winner in

Well I personally can count about 3-4 times I really thought you were going to take me out, you pulled over in some of the worst places. It doesn't matter if you were transparent, we don't know when your going to come back and be a brick wall in the road.

And w1nner hasn't said anything here (not sure if he's on gtplanet) or added me. So the way I look at it - he isn't in. He did say he may practice with me yesterday, but he didn't. And anyways his voice makes me want to kill myself!

I didn't know about the weather. I haven't followed this thread AT ALL. This is the first time I've looked in this thread and the first time I posted here. I saw that it was raining and everyone said to use the tires they were using before we were disconnected. So i put on softs. It was raining but the tires worked for a little while. I pit and put on intermediate tires because the % was to my left saying greater than 40% surface water. Still kept raining, and raining and eventually the water % got to be around 80% so I knew that I needed full wets. That's how I won. I pit again for full wet tires because the rain didn't stop. I've had that Vette for a long time now, I just added weight to it and kept the settings the same. Extended the gears a little bit and it worked good. I'll show up next week if we have the same guys or more.

What did you do? You seriously are asking that?

Dude, you was pushing me along the straight on the lap I caught up to the pack in the first race, and I noticed that you was getting seriously into the way of everyone because you were not properly able to control your car. You ran off the track at one point during the second race, and I'm pretty sure that it was when everyone was quite close to one another too, where you re emerged onto the track and nearly side swiped all of them. I honestly thought one of them was going to be taken out by you.

Even damuemogirl, who hasn't even been racing with any of us was wary of you. He was telling me on Skype call how worried he was you was going to barge him off the road, and when he says he would have happily t-boned you if you got in his way, I wouldn't have been too harsh on him if he actually did. That's probably because I would've wanted to, and I'm pretty high-and-might when it comes to keeping clean.

I don't care. Start kicking some DP *** about their attendance, and don't run a rain-race. Obviously, our systems read the rain differently... I SAW BLUE SKIES. Putting rain tires on under blue skies is a horrible idea!
I can't really say much on the weather because I wasn't really looking, but I'll see if my friend noticed anything odd later on. And to that rain tyres on blue skies/little rain on the track thing, Melancholy, I'll tell you now that polar was one lap away from that idea going HORRIBLY WRONG for him. So, call it being neutral, but I find it highly unlikely that polar fixed the race settings. I did, however, find it very strange that on changeablility 6 that the weather didn't change to the point that, if Melancholy did see blue skies even for a few minutes, that the track didn't show any drop (fixed %age at least) in wet surface percentage.

Anyway, my overall review is that this race shouldn't have resumed after the first one was disconnected. I don't know if you realised, but I live five hours ahead of most of you guys, and I do generally have early morning starts every day of the week, including weekends because of soccer/football training/matches. Mainly though, I think that races should be cancelled if a room unexpectedly closes. If one person leaves and it doesn't affect the lobby, fine.... continue, but if the whole lobby is shut down; automatic postponement on grounds of consideration to the disrupted flow of events. No trying to run the race over two seperate races, just one FULL SINGLE RACE. Even if that means waiting another week, then redoing ALL of qualifying, and redoing THE WHOLE RACE.

I'm serious when I say this, so I sincerely hope you don't take it lightly, but when I say that I'll play no more part of this series for the rest of the season if you decide to pick a race up from lap X/Y/Z if the lobby closes.... I meant it.

Why else do you think I played no part in the 15-lap race *coughshamblescough* in the rain? Because I foresaw things screwing up, people getting aggravated, etc.

Fair enough, but that's not the point. Get used to using the car your competing with, otherwise you're going to cause some seriously unnecessary pile-ups, accidental or not.

Alright, from now on the standard for weather tracks will be 25% weather and 5 changiblity. For time (Le Manns only) not sure yet.

In regards to "re-Doing" a race, those will be on the next day, Sunday. Hopefully we wont have to use that, but it's there incase. I'm thinking the time should be 3pm eastern, which would be about 8pm for you guys in England. Seems reasonibly enough for me since its a school night/work night.

I have Autoslalom (SCCA H-Stock Solo2 in a Hyundai Accent) on Sundays. Regardless, your connection pooped out @ Daytona and Monza. Are you sure you can host? I nominate StableConnectionSeth83 to open the lobbies.

Also, did no one else notice that there was lag (huge lag) in part 2?

Only reason I hosted Monza was James was a maybe. Usually I dont poop out, these are the only races... My connection doesn't like someone. And I didn't notice any lag when I was near people.

I'm not going to be able to host, what if I don't show up? I don't wanna ruin your race by not being able to host it. I'm not sure if my g/f will wanna go somewhere or what. So usually I can be on at the time the race takes place, but there's always the chance I won't.

Sorry you went from doing one race to hosting the races in less than 24 hours!

First, would you like to do this?

And if we can get two hosts that can both host without issue that'd be ideal.

StormPacer
I could try hosting if I'm on first, since my internet for the PSN is wired.

Alright, thanks storm. I have 85-100% connection and nat 2, but as soon as someone gets on the laptop...that tanks big time!

In regards to Monza I've got a few questions:

1. Would you like to redo the Monza race, explain why and when you'd like to make it up. As we now have a rule in place for make up races and have missed it, I say we just scrap it and move on to Indianapolis this weekend.

2. Would you like the points for Monza to count. I have the results from the race so I could distribute points off of that list, if you don't want to redo the race, but still want points for the race.

3. This is more of a option than a question, but here it goes... We totally forget Monza happened, no points given out, no redo, just move on.

I go for number 3. Reason being I don't want to make a exception to the new make up race rule. Also if you could write some feedback about that that'd be great! I also don't think that anyone was totally pleased with how that race went. I don't think anyone would be totally excited to redo that race (except those who missed the race). That also brings up the point of "it's not really a make up race if there's more people/different people. The make up races will be on a Sunday. Those can be weird days for people, I for one, don't like to do anything organized on Sunday's. Those are my do nothing but watch races, tv, and to play whatever game I feel like (I don't get to play really at all during the week). Also for our international competitors, I made the time earlier because it's a school/work night and we all need rest! But by doing that, I made it kinda mid day for us in the US. So those are going to be hit or miss. But let me know what you think! (other than I dragged this out way to much!)

I agree with you polar

I put a lot of time and effort towards that race. I'd like for it to count. Even if it is only half-points.

I had a real chance of winning at Monza. I didn’t want go into my strategy for the race beforehand, but I was looking to do a two-stopper, which looking at my average times in my practice races, lasting 13/14 laps on mediums doing 1:51.001, and 1:49’s on the final stint on softs. I qualified on Racing Mediums, because I wanted to start on those tyres for the race, but it would have been easy to take pole. What was pole anyway? 1:48.6? I’ve managed a 1:47.751 using racing softs.

I’m tempted to go with options 1 or 3, but since others would feel cheated if we didn’t award points, I’m glad to go with option two. Say, couldn’t you halve the points from each race and give them out? Everyone remembers their positions in both races right? Also, I know you did this at Daytona for when you DC’d, but are you giving me points in the rain race? If you did that, or that was what you were thinking for option two, then standings would go like this:

Seth: 1st / 1st = 40 + 40 = 80 pts.
MrM: 3rd / 3rd = 30 + 30 = 60 pts.
Polar: 4/5th / 2nd = 25/20 + 35 = 60/55 pts.
Storm: 2nd / 6th = 35 + 15 = 50 pts.
Damu: 4/5th / 4th = 25/20 + 20 = 45/40 pts.
James: 6th / 5th = 15 + 20 = 35 pts.

Only awarded James the points placing he finished overall in both races, since he wasn’t really doing much of anything in either. I wasn’t sure who out of you (polar) and my friend (damu) came 4th in the first race, but yeah...

Also, I still reckon it’d be a better idea to just let race that are disrupted recommence in full on another day/week. However, I want to apologise for being so stubborn and not actually joining the rain race.

Storm I lie your points for the race-they seem fair.

Also I pm Ed our friend Phil bell, he said he's in again. Also winner commited so we should in theory have 4 dp drivers with one interested in making it 5. Also Anthony what happened to filip or whatever his name was? Is he still in?

And in gt we should have 6ish give take one, which is what we had in Monza. Pretty good I'd say for the first season.

I have started work on next seasons changes...briefly. Pm me stuff you'd like changed :)

Polar, I told you that I had an operation of my shoulder, so, I just get in (past) the room to see the race. I can´t drive because I can´t use my left arm but, I keep at the championship! I am going to loose 2 races maybe!

I know, but is filip still going to race?

Hey its me you told me to tell you what DP car i would want to drive, here it is:Peugeot 908 team Total: 970kg weight, 575hp power.

My username is datboitrey23

Thanks for the opportunity!

The make up races will be on a Sunday. Those can be weird days for people...

Those people are me. There's a way around this: no disconnects... it's a challenge, but, some people have a better connection. Anthony's got 100 mbps. So far, actually, anthony's been at most races. So, we could have Seth and Anthony as our main hosts, and if neither show up, then we could have anyone else host.

Again, though, I MAKE NO PROMISES ABOUT SUNDAYS. Starting May 13th, I'm doing autoslalom (IN REAL LIFE) on Sundays. I'm doing it about an hour north of here, and the schedules are sketchy and seem undecided still. So, don't run it on Sundays, because no one wants them on Sundays; not even you!

As I've said before, I have wired my PS3 to my access point, so connection should be pretty good. I could test this on Friday, see how it goes.

Nice nice. I approve, of course, but, 100 mbps is probably the best connection here, Anthony...

1. Not sure if your trying to be "cute" or anything, but it's not like any of us didn't think that........... Oh, and maybe you should let Anthony offer to host himself? Not sure if you talked to him (you must've since you know his connection) but I think I need to hear it from him before I say "oh and by the way, Anthony, your hosting tonight" Just so I don't catch him off guard or make him do something he doesn't want to do.

2. Alright, the Sunday races aren't planned on, hence the new rule... But I guess that's cool your doing autoslalom (I think you may have spelt that wrong) but no need to make a big deal - one person isn't going to sway my decision, if lots of people start saying they can't - then ill change it. But hopefully we won't have to worry.

It's just because no one has AGREED to the new time either... Except, perhaps, James, which doesn't mean TOO much...

I did a couple 47's in the race on softs. After that I settled to 49's and 50's. I was able to do 9 or 10 laps on them. During the first race I was going to pit twice as well. I used softs for the first two stints, then I was going to switch to mediums to finish the race.
