cnd01Best day in a while. My dad comes home from work with a G27. He said that he was telling his coworkers about me racing, and one of his coworkers does rfactor, and he had upgraded from the G27 and he just gave it to my dad. Online trying it out now.
We could do this.
At start of race countdown, DP pull off to the side.
GT will go one lap around the track and pull up behind DP.
DP will go around track with GT following. Starting the official pace.
This keeps the field bunched up before the start and gives GT a one lap advantage. DP will obviuosly make the lap up. This would work in the shorter enduros. This Daytona enduro we are doing I dont think will matter much.
MrMelancholy15Since when were we discussing starting procedures?
We haven't been...
And guys, bad bad news... I may not be able to make this saturday... I may still be in chicago. I've been under the impression we were driving home Saturday, but now it's Sunday... And I don't think I can race from a hotel room....
So when your races complete the GT drivers don't usually finish?
What FH suggested is standard practice in lap based finish formats in GT5, otherwise the GT drivers don't get a real finish.
It is a good idea, that they can get a lap advantage so that towards the end with the counter all the way up (180 seconds) they can finish their race. I doubt they will though, because I think they'll go down too many laps to complete it, so I guess it's just a tradeoff or a preference.
We ran a few laps on Saturday. I hit a 1:38.4xx around Daytona with the R92. Someone else came in and ran a 1:37.7 but he ran 900kg, so his time was void. Also, I'd prefer NOT to have Anthony as a teammate. If he really wants the Nissan that bad I'll choose another car to drive. Nothing against him, but I would rather he be on another team so the standings are closer. Judging from what he achieved last season he should be able to score a lot of points, so teaming him up with me I think would be unfair.
I think I can explain that for him.
He wants both the driver AND team points being closer. You and Seth won last season (You in DP, him in GT), so if you look at it like that and see that you are also both on the same team, he thinks that it is very possible that Team Nissan will win easily because both of you will either be first or second. To stop that happening, he would rather race against you, because he wants ALL the teams to have a possible chance of winning.
If you want a simpler explaining of the problem, look at Audi last season. Basically, he doesn't want something like THAT happening.
I understand that but, I think the DP class has too many fast and good drivers: Shin - Polar - Cnd...., and the Nissan is not the best car of the class. And maybe will be good the class has a close fight at the same team, for me was not boring the fights between Prost - Senna, Hamilton - Alonso, Button - Hamilton. So, I keep wanting an explication of Seth!
cnd01Not to mention Wardez as another fast driver. Seth should stay with Anthony. Shin and I are turning some good laps. I am on pace with Seth right now. Wardez and polar should be quick as well. I think that caution flags will play as much of a role as overall pace. A good strategy by the 3rd best car will beat a poor strategy by a faster car.
I agree with you 100%!
And do remember, the rule "you must show up to at least one pre season race, and 1 out of every 3 regular season races" applies to everyone!
I may not be able to race this weekend, it's going to be a last second call (mom and sister decided we should stay in chicago for another day -.-) so I'm going to try to race from the hotel room. The hotel may be the same one where they bolted a piece of metal over the plugs.... Or it may be the one where every 10 minutes the hotel tv station would pop up (ruined my L.A noire experience for the night...)
James, could you run the show?
I can host if necessary. What about MrM?
Hosting isn't a problem (Mrm seems to have that under control) I just have a problem with neither James or me not being there. It's our job to be at the races, and this season I haven't been. Granted, I've been on vacation, but I would have liked to make the race...
OR, do we push the race back a week? Just food for though...
cnd01I think we should go ahead and run it. Unless we don't have enough cars to at least halfway fill the grid.
Alright, sounds like a plan.
I will make a list of sorts too keep track of attendance. Failure to attend both pre season races will get you moved to reserve. Missing 3 races in a row will have you removed from the series (unless you have a excuse).
cnd01Good policy to have. Let's hope we won't have to enforce it.
freshseth83I may switch to using the Toyota Minolta. Anthony, I don't want to be your teammate because I'd like to beat you using a different car. I don't think the Nissan is the fastest, but I think you are pretty fast. I don't know the other guys' speed, so going by what I've seen I think you would be the main challenge. So I set my sights on beating the guy who has won. That would be you, I don't want to be confined to a team mate and have to worry about what's best for the team that we would be on. So I would be freer to race against you if I weren't your teammate. That's what I feel.
Well, that cars full for now... Well worry about this problem the week before the start of the real season.

freshseth83I stated early on I didn't want Anthony as a team mate. So maybe you could allow a switch? And why is the Minolta 1050kg when the other two are 1060kg? If anything the Minolta has a higher top speed, maybe they should all weight the same?
This is what pre season is for. The problem doesn't have to be fixed now, and it won't. I'm not going to switch people around because you don't want your teammate. And it couldve been a typo, I can't recall. I can't re test cars now either.
