The Rolex Sports Car Series- Season 2! Finished! Thanks Everyone!

What should the best tire we use for Season 3 be?

I watched that, it was a pretty close race for a while, shame your tyres were fading off quickly because it would've been nice to see the fighting continue. Mine and Melan's battle in the first stint was pretty good as well actually.

I was annoyed at first though, because I went up the outside of one of the Audi's coming into Turn 3 at the race start, and for some reason the Audi I was side by side with forced me onto the grass and I ran off. Seemed like he didn't even see the big fluorescent orange Dodge Viper next to him.

Rolex SCS round 1. Enjoy :)

The Nissan is difficult to drive but not impossible, it's a good challenge!
About the first pre-season race, I have two things to say:

1- WE SHOULD PROHIBIT ALL AIDS, LESS ABS I think, we are in season two, we have to make a little difficult than season one!

2- Caution: Polar I know you want to make like the reality (Rolex), but I think is too complicate do it at the game. Also, you loose too many laps with that rule, for me it doesn't work.

A propose for this point: When someone crash, type "caution", and the first must slow down until all drivers catch him, once all drivers be together, the leader have to restart when he cross the start/end line! *THIS WAY YOU WILL LOSE ONLY ONE LAP NOT FOUR!

I was spinning every time I got on the gas. I just cant get it to stay hooked up out turns. I asked for the 787B before the season even started, but I was ignored. I ran 495hp 1030kg. Its as high as it will go (weight). So I ran less power. I hit187mph a few times, but the car doesn't have a lot of torque so it doesn't snap around on you getting out turns. I just tried to keep pace with Anthony, but he spun out in the chicane. So I went from 4 seconds back to 3 seconds ahead. Being consistent and not going off is how I won. Some good braking and drafting help from a couple GT guys let me hit top speed. I don't think we should turn off TC. The cars are tough to wrangle as is for us DS3 users.

With all due respect, I thought I was the one who lobbied for the 787B. I also believe that it was you that said it was too slow and you would only be able to keep up if you were really good. I said that it was the easiest to drive, best handling and the fastest lap. I think you also said that the Sauber was too easy and you wanted the R92s challenge. No doubt you won on consistency and superior tire wear. Too bad it doesn't count.

This round also proved that we failed miserably at the caution flag policy. It took me 2 laps to catch up. I suggest a practice lobby sometime tomorrow for caution flags.

Agreed. It will give me the opportunity to tune the Mazda... I got almost 0% wear on front tires, and could've stayed out for 20-30 laps on my front tires, but the right rear was going too quickly, and by the fifth lap, I had 50% rear tires. So, I'm going to ask that we, again, remove power from the Mazda (it's still too fast and unstable) so that I can use the power coming out of the corners. The car was slowest in the first two sectors, between me and Storm, and continually lost grip in the chicane, (quite scary.)

Certainly, the car will improve as I figure out the diff, and tune for more dramatic understeer, but the front tires are lasting two stints, and if I could get the rear tires to last that long, at the current pace, the Mazda would be utterly perfect, the likes of which haven't been seen since Indy last season. 💡 I say either no turbo for Mazda, or low range turbo. Or, at least power limit it to 450.

I said it was slower than the others, but the JAG was too slow @the same specs. Get it right. If you wanted the 787B before like me, we should use it as a team unless you want your sauber still. I was going to use the Sauber actually but it was taken. The only choice was the Nissan because for some reason they only want 3 cars? IRL though none of the DP teams have an exact car, and there's definitely more than 3 teams. "Too bad it doesn't count" Sounds like a sore loser to me. I was up for variety including the JAG and 787B in addition to the Sauber Nissan and Toyota. Now it's looking very similar to ITCC with people complaining about the car I used, when it was a choice from the start.

I can agree with you that it's pretty twitchy, as I have driven the car before in a practice session. It's almost like driving a McLaren F1 GTR, which is quite twitchy aswell.

However, not being funny or rude or derogatory to you in any way Seth, but that's the things you come across when you choose the car, and its up to you to overcome them.

I never once introduced a completely different car that wasn't listed in the series into a race (quali/practice yes but not a race), in here or ALMS, when I was finding the Viper or BMW hard to manage.

You wanted a challenge? You want close racing? You want to fight for the points instead of having them essentially handed to you? Well, embrace the Nissan.

Nah. I wanted the Mazda from the moment it was brought up. Just because I won with it doesn't mean it's 'the best'. I already stated I didn't want to be Anthony's teammate. I only said Nissan because YOU weren't for variety including the Mazda and JAG. CND and I were ones asking for variety. You said no because people won't be using it. I started the race with it- NO issues! Now it's another story because I won with it? Sounds like sour grapes. I think Anthony would have won had he not spun, what would you say then?

You did, yesterday, what Johnny did... Yesterday... Ironic?? I think so! Seth, really, man. It's not the car. I managed to get a podium at Madrid yesterday. I proved that the Civic's just as fast as all of the other cars. You were in an FR car, and it turned out, again, that FR cars are slightly better over longer runs. So, I'll admit, that the Toyota did a good job. But, you pulled out a car that wasn't officially spec'd (just like Johnny in his Evo VIII) and won in it, while completely ignoring the caution I had called, to see if people would obey. The crash was legitimate, but I forced the issue, to ensure that the cautions were tested yesterday. Two laps later, you realized "Oh, derp, there's a caution flag. Yay! If passing is now made illegal, that means I win! YAY!"

I don't make the rules; I just give input. We can only have 16 cars per race. At the Sahlen's 6 Hours at the Glen, there are 11 DP and 23GT. That is over a 2:1 ratio GT to DP. Polarbear wanted to make the car ratio even to what is irl. That is why we only have 6 DP slots. I got it right. You said that the 787B was 0.5-1.0 seconds slower than the Sauber, R92, and the Minolta Toyota. Look at the season 1 thread. I would be more than happy to have a 787B team with you; however, I have already committed to the Sauber. Plus the 787B isn't even a legal car at this point. That is why I said "too bad it doesn't count." You ran a picture perfect race. I am for variety, but I would rather keep it as close to real life as possible. If we could have say 21 cars per lobby we wouldn't have this problem. Your car was not a choice from the start. You had the R92CP until the start of the race. You made your own executive decision to run the 787B right before the start of the race. I couldn't hold on to the Sauber as it was anyway. So what, I still ran it. I didn't decide to switch cars right at the last second. The race really didn't count at all. It is just the preseason.

Its not sour grapes from what I can see, Seth. We still would have told you that you shouldn't use it regardless of the result, and we could technically say you were just being a whiny b*tch for not manning up and using the Nissan regardless of its flaws like Anthony did... but when do you ever listen to anything we say? Haha!

Also, since we're trying to mimic a smaller scale verson of Grand Am Rolex, which has like 11 DP and 20+ GT... 6 DP and 10 GT cars were what was decided. Sorry, I thought you knew this already.

Personally I wanted the Jag because then it was almost like WW2 all over again. (Britain, Germany and Japan, see the connection?)

So let me get this right. You think since you don't like the car you signed up with, you can just spec your own car and use it? Sorry, this isn't the ITCC, we ONLY use cars on the list... Better yet, we ONLY use the cars you signed up for, unless I ok it. The 787b isn't on the list for a reason. I must say, TC shouldn't have been off, sorry controller users. You're pretty lucky I wasn't at the race, you wouldn't have raced with the 787b, actually, I wouldve had you kicked. No questions asked. Like the others have said, the smaller DP field is to make the ratio more realistic, if you don't like it... Don't let the door hit you on the way out... Seriously, your not in charge here, all you really do is nag about every possible thing...

And Anthony, I'll have a room or two this week dedicated to the cautions. I've heard from a few people that they need work, so well work on them!

That is my point. +1

I TOLD YOU I didn't want the Nissan. I wanted the Mazda but YOU DIDN'T want it in. Screw teams. IRL Ganassi runs 1 car. So why can't I? You had 10 people show up to race, far from your magical 16 number you think. I'm not Anthony, I don't have money for a wheel. I can't get the Nissan to work. I don't want to be his teammate. All of this was said on the season 1 thread. You left me with no decision but to run the only car left by your awkward rules. I don't NEED your goofy sh-- talk, your threats, your bitterness; none of it. You clamor to people showing up, but dis me when I've provided legitimate contribution to "Your series"? I gave you the idea of running Group C. I gave the competition reason to race hard for the GT championship last season, I gave the reliable capable host for the races... count your blessings, boy. Anyone can make a series, not many can make it attractive, can make it thrive, can make it competitive. I get shat on for all the help I've done, the time I spent, the repping to others? Be very cautious of what you say. I'm not bragging, but there's plenty of people who would be glad to race under "my GrandAM".

You didn't give me the idea for group c. Please get that through your head. Please please please. I'm just pretty tired of your attitude. Whether or not this is how you feel, but it sounds like your one of those people that thinks we all owe you one...

But I do need a list of people that came to the race last night, if someone could help out, that'd be great.

We appreciate your contributions, but you insist on breaking the rules just because you don't like them. People have different opinions. I wanted the 787B too. I am not going to break the rules just because I don't agree with them.

Another point. I opened the room, how you going to kick the host? You made the series, but in reality it was 'no-show James' and you didn't even show up. Some creator. End of S1, new DP cars were suggested, I was the one who said Group C would be great and suggested 500hp 1000kg for the slowest one. Me and Anthony had it done before you even accepted the idea. We had the 787 was half second slower but was competitive with tire life. The Jag was slower on tight tracks but had good top speed. The cars were already 'specd', you're wrong there. You got 5 DP drivers who showed up. Enough for everyone to use their own car. You decided against that because you wanted 'teams'. You discount the private teams IRL. You dropped the Vette, disclude the Porsche but hey, its close right? Keep it coming though. Pick apart what I say and I can do the same.

Actually he did show up. I'm assuming you were the one who left right as he joined? (Literally, someone left, possibly you, and he joined within the same minute) Unless you are talking about someone other than polarbear...

💡 how would I be the one who left if I hosted the race and finished?
