I noticed when someone left the room, it became a bit more stable. But then someone else joined (a no-namer) and the room started to get jittery again with people starting to bounce around more.

People were not IN the series. It was people who were just there to watch.

Anthony, NICE Video!

Some of that is a part of lag, I will however say, that the turn 1 crash Seth should've let you past.

Seth, on behalf of everyone:

Do you think you did anything wrong last night?

No, when damu left, the room got a little better. But then bystanders came in and it started getting bad again. I did let him pass, I slowed up and he got past me by the next turn. His video doesn't show that though. I never said I was perfect, and I didn't run a perfect race. But by no means did I purposely run into people. And if I did get into anyone they got back past because I slowed up, if it was that turn or not. It's hard to avoid someone who jumps across the screen! I don't know what to say, you want me to take blame for lag that seemed to be an issue with only a couple people? Were pointing out my faults now, but no one else has any? I don't get it.

Of course I made a mistakes (with you and cnd: when I hit you a little bit I braked and gave you space to continue in front of me). But you know that when I do something wrong I give back the position.

I'll take a video of the incidents and send it to one of you to upload on youtube. I don't have the time for all of that. I made a few mistakes, trying to go on the outside in turn 1 I spun in the early part of the race. For most of the race I wasn't even around anyone until the end.

SO, I just had a idea!

How about we do a "strike" system? 5-7 strikes, you can get a strike for dirty driving, arguing and pretty much anything stupid that you do. Every "clean" weekend you have, you get one strike subtracted from your total. 5-7 because... I haven't decided yet...

But here is the strike pay out;

.5-2 strikes- Dirty driving
1 strike- Arguing and not stopping when told to
.5- Asking for car specs in lobby

Things can and will be added to this list over time.

Everyone like it?

In a strike system, how about a power penalty? Since it makes little difference where you qualify with the length of these races, a bigger difference would be a HP penalty. So 3 unresolved incidents or more (like strikes) could result in a 5 or 10hp reduction?

The reason we all think this is because everytime anyone said that you did something wrong, you blame lag or claim innocence.

What is the limit for strikes that denotes a penalty or a suspension?

Oh my goodness. More rules and regs. GTP has a system already that we should be following.

01: OLR General Rules:

A:
These rules are subject to change as there are constant updates/changes coming out for GT5, it is your responsibility to update yourself on the changes.

B:
All drivers are expected to make themselves familiar with the GTP online racing rules before entering any race or competition. If you stumble across a rule that is unclear to you, make sure you fully understand that rule before you enter the race or competition. You can post your questions in the therefore dedicated race thread on the GTP forum.

C:
You are expected to compete in a fair and honest manner. With fair and honest is meant according to the GTP online racing rules, not according to your own interpretation of fair and honest.

D:
You are expected to drive responsibly in a way that’s not likely to ruin the racing enjoyment of your fellow drivers.

E:
You are expected not to submit to bad general behaviour under all circumstances.

F:
You are not allowed to use abusive or offensive language (including but not limited to swearing) in any of the chat or voice facilities.

G:
You are expected to behave like sporting gentlemen at all times
.

H:
The position of other drivers must always be respected.

I:
Aggressive driving is strictly prohibited.

J:
Cutting the chicanes or "shorting" the track at any point is strictly prohibited on all parts of the track, including the asphalt-areas in behind out-of track-lines. Track specific boundaries will be clarified in the Race Specifics section of any given event.

K:
If a driver wants to retire from a race, the driver concerned must not exit the race. The driver must find a position on the track where the driver will not endanger other drivers, park their car by pressing "start" and wait for the race to end. Keep in mind that your car may start to move when the start button is pressed. Place your car on a position where this movement won't cause any problems for drivers who are still racing.

L:
No careless driving. Always show respect for your fellow racers. Be careful. Show some patience. Understand the limitations of your car and yourself and drive accordingly. Driving online in a racing sim is NOT exactly the same as real life racing in every respect.

M:
If you are found guilty of any of these rules, the behaviour will be evaluated and penalty assessed by the Race Steward.

N:
When racing or entering GTPlanet's social or competitive race meetings, all drivers are expected to meet the Performance Point criteria. This means setting your car to the maximum PP in social events (unless stated otherwise), or setting your car to a specific PP in competitive events (unless stated otherwise).

All the ones in BOLD are the ones we failed at.

Not really rules and regulations, just a penalty system. But we should follow the OLR, it's an organized set of rules that almost everyone in the Racing Leagues section is familiar with. Penalty system looks okay, but the general rules should be the OLR. And maybe add a bit of the OLR in the OP, just so people know what to follow.

I thought that it was a requirement to know the OLR's before entering any racing series events.

Here are a few that we violated.

C:
If sufficient overlap is established before the turn-in point, then the behind driver has the right to sufficient side room. The ahead driver must also leave sufficient side room for the behind driver. This means that each driver has a right to their respective "line", or side of the track, right up to the exit point. Neither driver should squeeze the other toward the inside or outside of the corner during the apex or exit.

E:
Drivers who are using PS2/PS3 controller MUST make additional effort in driving due to the fact they can't use side-view, and their perception of the other cars is thereby limited - extreme caution while maneuvering is required. If you are using a controller, you are required to set buttons up for side views as "I didn't see you." is not an excuse if you collide with another driver when racing.

I can't understand Polar, sorry!:indiff:

Where did I say I was innocent? Show me that post. I said most of the incidents can be chalked up to lag. That doesn't mean I never bumped into someone. But there were plenty of times someone bumped me. We going to sit here and nitpick with eachother about every little tap? This is why I was saying people were acting like kids last night. Little bickering back and forth about this tap, and that tap. Have a little give and take instead of accusing people. I never said anyone was driving dirty, but that got said about me. I never said anyone was a bad driver, but that got said about me. I stood up for myself and said it's hard to race around people when lag has them dancing across the screen from front to back, left to right. It's hard to avoid someone who looks like they're 50meters in front of you then all of a sudden is right in front of you. All the 'incidents' people are bringing up I tried to explain. Why are we still on this? The race is done and over with. Hopefully next race the lag issue isn't prevalent and we can actually have a decent race. It'd be great for people to stop assuming things and putting words in other people's mouths as well. Blowing things out of proportion is what's happening here IMO.

I'm with you.

And this is REALLY off topic...but... is anyone watching the show on mermaids?

You did call me cheap and pathetic and a child in the race lobby. Had it not been the last lap, I wouldn't have thought anything of it. I felt like it costed me the win and it was on purpose, so I acted out of pure impulse. You were the one who accused Ant of jumping starts. He had the gear for restarts. I didn't say anything when you and Ant punted me numerous times going into turn one. There was no mal intent in those. I felt like there was mal intent coming out of NASCAR 4 on the last lap. That is why I retaliated. I forgive you for bumping me, I apologize for crashing you. I apologize for "putting words in your mouth". I hope you will man up and do the same.

TBF Anthony jumped the restart by being in front of me. Side by side is great, but he was in front of me and went before the line. I told him about that and said 'try not to jump the next restart'. I said that was cheap by smashing into me. I don't need to apologize for speaking my mind. I didn't call you any foul names. I'm sorry there was incidents and bumping, and I shouldn't have said you were a kid. That's just how I felt people were acting.

I saw that show on mermaids though. It's a mocumentary. In other words, it's all a big fake.

He might have. That mermaids show is all bogus. Mocumentary at its finest. I think it is mildly entertaining, however. :dopey:

And let's move on.

But I had to turn that mermaid show off... Partially because I swear I saw the end before... And I just couldn't stand listening to those guys, and the amount of terrible EVERYTHING. I remember in the beginning they were going off on polar bears... Because polar bears can hold their breath and humans can hold their breath. So it only makes sense that we lived underwater because we can hold our breath... Sure... Carry on...

And lol @ the stuff they found in the shark...
