The Rolex Sports Car Series- Season 2! Finished! Thanks Everyone!

What should the best tire we use for Season 3 be?

This would be that thread. If I'm right, we're not even half way through the series. Discussing the next series would be a little silly at this point. Focus on the now, the future is unimportant.

No I mean a season 3 discussion thread that we can later turn into the season 3 thread.

Well again, that really isn't important at the time. Season 2 has its own issues to be settled to begin with so it would be better to finish one project rather then taking up a new one. Especially when the new one can only build off of a complete first one. That is, Season 2 being the "first one."

I got that and ok that's fine.

 👎 Why don't you actually think anything through before posting? If I remember right, you only showed up to two S1 races, why would YOU make the calls about attendance?

Anyways, any word about connection issues being fixed? I'm itching for better points now. I need to finish without d/c or crashes. I was running consistently, before my d/c, and was guaranteed another podium.

It was just a idea because we have gotten more intrest in rolex lately.

Have we? Could've fooled me! I haven't seen TOO many people posting, except that troll guy, who can't be taken seriously...

Are you talking about me? just kidding

Not exactly. The troll's name was Matt... something...

Anyways, I've not found any other posts by anyone who's not OFFICIALLY in the series, currently, except those who have left.

But, +1 for Polar. :)

For right now the formula is working for this year. The cautions certainly pose a great challenge as they almost certainly throw a wrench into your strategy. This makes plenty of great racing. I think everyone who is in the series now is just fine. If we can get more than 4 DP per event it would be nice.

I may make this weekend. I'm not going to mid Ohio anymore: too many things uncertain.(my dad didn't want me to go because he didn't know how nice the sleeping conditions would be)

So I'm going to the beach tomorrow. If I have internet, I'll make the next 3 races, if not, I'll miss the next 3 races.

Still think those who cause cautions should be sent to the very rear, DP included.

They don't do that in the actual series, but I can see why you want that because our field is so much smaller than theirs.

Supposing there were VERY heavy damage, technically the DP cars would actually be lapped, at least once, while the pit crews fix it. :indiff: Of course, we would definitely have troubles implementing such a thing.

However, as a GT driver, I can also say: "Keep those 🤬 DP cars away from me as much as possible. I understand that they have to lap me, because they're 8-12 seconds a lap faster (depending on track) but I don't want to be bumped off by someone who's not in my class."

Therefore, please, let's leave it as is, but, penalize drivers based on damage, for bringing out the caution...

Maybe the person who caused the caution should be docked points. People could use it as a way to 'reset' themselves back in contention for the win. I think I speak for anyone who builds up a 30 second lead then has a 4th place car take them out.

I agree with seth and I think Paul. Whats the point of building a lead when all it takes is one caution to bunch up the field and your in contention again? I can almost gurantee that the person involved in a big caution in real life at the end of the race is never in contention. They are either to far down in laps or they have to retire from the race.

A penalty system has to be implemented.

-10 points for each person that types caution?

That's just stupid.

If its not your fault why should you be penalized?

Who knows, I honestly don't even remember typing that...

I think we just need to review each caution that is caused after the fact. We only had one caution at Monza. We could say that you lose a lap if you are involved in a caution.

My personal favorite method for preventing those snowbird cautions is that the people involved can't pit during the caution and still start at the back of their class.

I should have 100 points. I have one 1st and one 3rd which is 60 points plus 40 points. 60+40=100

Not trying to be a douche here.

No, it's right...

I've been forgetting things!

Neither you or Seth won Daytona, you both get 2nd place points.

Oh well I had 60 points on my name after Daytona. That is where I am coming from. Since that is the case, my bad. I was going from what was on the OP.

Yea, I hear ya. I've been pretty bad at keeping the OP up to date. I just went through now. Reserve driver lists are good now too:

If you're now a Reserve, PLEASE come to all races you can!
